Chapter 7

: The Spiritual Mentor Arrives, Riley Soothes the Kids

"No, Dad! Peter's door was just old and broken, it just fell down by itself!"

Seeing that Peter's first reaction upon arriving at this point was fear of breaking the door and causing trouble for his parents, rather than realizing that he had been completely transformed and was no longer a person, Riley couldn't help but laugh.

But to avoid worrying his father, Riley, before Ben went upstairs to check, shouted back and reached out to take the broken doorknob from Peter's hand.

Then, right in front of Peter, she casually tossed it into the trash can in Peter's room. She was demonstrating through her actions that she was on his side.

"Really? Peter wasn't hit, was he? Should we take him to the hospital?"

"Huh? Oh! I'm fine, Uncle Ben! I dodged it, I didn't get hit!"

"That's good! Get ready and come down for breakfast! I'll have someone come and replace that door later!"

"Okay, we understand, Uncle Ben!"

With Riley's support, Peter was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

After quickly calming Ben down, Peter, like a drowning man grasping at a straw, gestured with his hands and lowered his voice to ask Riley for help.

"Riley, I don't know how to explain this to you, but when I woke up... everything in the room seems as fragile as an egg! What should I do?!"

"As fragile as an egg... Come with me."

Although he already knew about the changes that had occurred in Peter, and in a sense, he was the "culprit" who brought about Peter's mutation.

But in order to help Peter calm down and gradually accept this sudden superpower,

Riley pretended to be unaware, turned around and went back to his room, took the hand gripper he used to train his body before the mutation, and casually tossed it to Peter.

"Here, use all your strength, squeeze hard."

"Oh, okay...wait, what? Even this is broken! Am I really that unlucky today?!"

"Pfft... My silly little brother, do you think it's possible that it wasn't just bad luck that everything you bumped into today was broken, but rather that you were too strong and these things simply couldn't support you?"

When Peter obediently followed Riley's instructions and squeezed the hand gripper hard, unsurprisingly, he twisted and deformed it with a creaking sound.

Faced with Peter's bewildered expression, who was beginning to question his existence, Riley finally couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Then she lifted Peter's shirt and gently tapped his eight-pack abs, which had become clearly defined and resembled chocolate bars after the mutation, a few times with the back of her hand.

"I don't know what happened to you... but it's impossible for 'weak Parker' to have such perfect abs, right?"

"Huh? You mean... I'm actually an imposter, a fake Peter Parker? Or like in the movies, a clone who swapped identities with the original while sleeping?!"

"...Pfft, hahaha!"

"Don't laugh, Riley! I'm serious!"

"Hahaha! Don't worry, don't worry, this silly charm is something no clone can imitate... so I'm pretty sure you're my cousin Peter, the real deal!"

"Oh, that's good, that's... wait! What do you mean by 'stupid'? I'm number one in my grade! Dr. Connors even praised me as a genius! How am I stupid!"

"Hahaha! Whose genius could have such a slow reaction time? Hahaha!"

"Oh, Riley—!"

As usual, the two brothers bickered and argued for a while. Seeing that Riley's attitude towards him had not changed at all, Peter, who was originally uneasy and didn't know what to do, was able to gradually relax.

Then, with Riley's intentional or unintentional reminders, Peter became particularly curious about just how much his body had changed.

Coincidentally, today is a weekend when there's no school.

After finishing breakfast, the two greeted Ben and May and then jogged to the abandoned factory that the brothers considered their "secret base".

Here, after a simple test, we can confirm that...

Peter, having gained Spider-Man's superpowers, can now move effortlessly across walls while wearing shoes and gloves, defying gravity.

Under normal conditions, the force is enough to move an object weighing around 35 tons.

That sounds impressive enough, doesn't it?

However, considering that Peter and he themselves had only achieved a preliminary genetic fusion, their bodies were not yet fully developed due to age limitations.

Therefore, Riley was certain that even without considering the rage bonus, Peter's attributes, like his own, still had significant room for improvement, influenced by this intangible, subjective factor.

After all, a rough calculation shows that even the movie version of Spider-Man, with its reduced expressiveness, can still exert a force of over a thousand tons under extreme conditions.

The "bully" version of Spider-Man, with the strongest physical strength, capable of pulling a runaway train to a stop, weighs a whopping 1,500 tons!

Compared to them, Riley's current strength of one hundred tons is nothing but a drop in the ocean.

Not to mention going head-to-head with Hulk and Thor at their full power, true power heroes!

Fortunately, Peter, who was unaware of these inside stories and therefore had no psychological burden, was already overjoyed to have transformed from a weak nerd into a strongman with the strength of tens of tons!

In addition, guided by Riley, Peter also experienced the thrill of swinging in the air via chains suspended from the abandoned factory. As if it were an innate instinct, he quickly mastered the technique, and his swinging speed at high altitudes noticeably increased.

This made Peter extremely excited, because the amazing changes that had occurred in him had allowed him to unknowingly and completely shed his former inferiority and cowardice.

So, at Riley's urging, Peter reluctantly loosened his chains and landed unharmed from the height. He then quickly walked up to Riley and excitedly shouted.

"Did you see that, Riley?! I can swing that high! I can even scale walls! Wow, that's amazing! It seems like from now on, I can be like you, helping innocent classmates and teaching those bad students a lesson!"

"Just disciplining bad students? No, no, no, my dear brother, you're thinking too simply... Think about it, if I had your strength, would I have needed to pretend to scare the thugs when I saved Harry? I could have easily knocked them down with just a few punches and kicks!"

Seeing Peter's overjoyed reaction to gaining superhuman powers, and how his first instinct was to use them to help the weak and punish the strong, just like himself, rather than to use them to make extra money in underground arenas, Riley smiled with satisfaction.

Then, as if deep in thought, Riley spoke again, coaxing Peter with promises of a bright future, all for the sake of a bold conjecture in his mind.

"Just like Dad always says, with great power comes great responsibility... Don't you want to use your power in the right way to save more people? Maybe you can even become a household name hero like Captain America, whom you've admired since you were little!"

"A hero like...like Captain America? Good heavens! You're not kidding me, Riley! Ah, I...I mean, of course I'd like to, but I'm just a student, can I really do it...?!"

It's important to understand that in this universe, Captain America's prestige among teenagers is comparable to that of the Monkey King in the hearts of Chinese people.

Peter was stunned for a moment, then his whole body began to tremble uncontrollably. He instinctively reached out and grabbed Riley's shoulder, shaking him violently back and forth.

But he didn't notice at all that, in his excitement, he forgot to pull back...

Riley, an "ordinary person," effortlessly withstood his terrifying strength, which was measured in tons!
