Chapter 647
: Overcoming the Difficulties
"Chen Ze, how did you do that?" Yan Xiaoxiao asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and shock.
Chen Ze's smile deepened, and he gently shook his head. "Some things are not the time to explain."
At that moment, a rustling sound came from outside the stone chamber, sending chills down one's spine.
Chen Ze and Yan Xiaoxiao exchanged a glance, knowing that this adventure was far from over.
"Are you ready?" Chen Ze's eyes were sharp as he picked up an unusual stone.
"I'm at your beck and call anytime," Yan Xiaoxiao said, gripping the small box tightly in her hand.
Chen Ze nodded, and the four of them walked in unison toward the direction from which the sounds were coming. At this moment, they had only one belief in their hearts: no matter what lay ahead, they had to face it and solve it.
Just then, a low humming sound came from afar, like the breathing of some huge creature, sending chills down one's spine.
Chen Ze stopped and frowned. "It looks like there are 'guests' waiting for us ahead."
Yan Xiaoxiao nodded nervously, gripping the small box tightly in her hand. "No matter what, we will not back down."
Chen Ze smiled, a smile full of meaning and confidence. "Then let's go see who this so-called 'guest' really is."
The two continued on their way without the slightest hesitation.
Meanwhile, the buzzing sound in the distance grew louder and louder, like a monster about to awaken, waiting for their arrival.
Regardless, in the dark tunnel, Chen Ze followed closely behind Professor Luo and the team, their footsteps echoing in the empty and gloomy underground space.
Chen Ze was low-key and composed, and never showed the slightest panic even when faced with the strange and uncertain.
But at that moment, the team's rhythm suddenly became chaotic.
Someone stopped silently, as if drawn by something.
Chen Ze turned around and his heart tightened immediately.
Tian Siyao and Tian Fen'er's eyes turned crimson; clearly, they had been bewitched.
"You two are acting strangely!" Chen Ze's voice, piercing through the oppressive air, conveyed the urgency of the crisis with each word.
Yan Xiaoxiao turned around, shone her flashlight on their faces, and frowned slightly upon seeing this. "It seems there really is a problem."
Chen Ze, do you have any solutions in mind?
Chen Ze took out an ancient book of talismans from his backpack and quickly flipped to a certain page.
He bit his finger and quickly drew several runes in the air.
The rune flew to the two women, making contact with their red eyes, producing a soft popping sound.
The two women shook their heads violently, as if waking from a nightmare, and their eyes gradually returned to normal.
Upon seeing this scene, Yan Xiaoxiao held her breath, her eyes filled with shock and amazement.
"Wow, Chen Ze, you're amazing!" Yan Xiaoxiao excitedly walked up to Chen Ze, seemingly trying to find more words to describe her shock.
Hey, don't be so surprised.
This is just a basic way to solve the problem; the important thing is that we find a way out as soon as possible.
Chen Ze said calmly, but his heart was filled with vigilance.
Chen Ze felt an even greater sense of responsibility. He gripped the talisman book tightly in his hand, his eyes revealing a resolute determination.
He knew that in this environment filled with the unknown and danger, every decision could be a matter of life and death, but he also understood that only by forging ahead could he find a glimmer of hope.
Yan Xiaoxiao stood in the dark tunnel, her face solemn.
Chen Ze was right beside her, and their eyes met, as if they were silently exchanging an indescribable tension.
Tian Siyao and Tian Fen'er regained their senses, their faces showing lingering fear and vigilance. In such a chilling environment, even the slightest rustle of wind was enough to send shivers down their spines.
"The situation here is much more complicated than we imagined." Chen Ze gritted his teeth, his tone revealing a hint of worry.
“Yes, there must be something we don’t know yet,” Tian Siyao added.
The atmosphere in the passageway was like a volcano about to erupt, so oppressive that it was almost impossible to breathe.
Yan Xiaoxiao turned around and looked at Chen Ze, as if seeking some explanation or direction.
"We must proceed with caution, especially in such an uncertain environment," Chen Ze warned, hoping to find a glimmer of hope in this endless darkness.
Tian Fen'er glanced at both sides of the passage. The walls were covered with strange totems, which looked like some kind of ancient talisman.
“I always felt that these totems were more than just decorations.”
"Yes, I feel the same way."
These totems might be part of some kind of mechanism, or worse, a trigger for some kind of spell. Tian Siyao glanced at Yan Xiaoxiao, and thinking of what had just happened, she became even more wary.
Chen Ze looked around, took a deep breath, and said, "We can only take it one step at a time now, and we can't let the other side notice our unease."
“In this environment, only calmness and unity can help us overcome the difficulties.” Yan Xiaoxiao nodded, her eyes shining with determination.
Although what had just happened left her shaken, it also strengthened her resolve.
“You’re right, we can’t let things like this cause us to fall apart.”
"Stop! Don't move!" Chen Ze suddenly stopped Yan Xiaoxiao and Tian Fen'er, who were about to walk forward.
His sharp eyes swept across the eerie cavern.
Yan Xiaoxiao looked up, her emotions still running high, "Where...where is this place? How come there are so many corpses?"
Her eyes were filled with complex emotions, as if she were struggling against the shadows around her.
Tian Fen'er gripped the hem of her clothes tightly, her voice trembling, "How exactly did these people die?"
Chen Ze took a deep breath and nervously observed his surroundings.
His gaze inadvertently fell on a corpse, its face contorted, its chest slashed open by a sharp object, so gruesome that it was unbearable to look at.
"Now is not the time to dwell on this issue; the key is to find a way out."
Just then, a cold wind suddenly blew in from the depths of the cave, dispelling the oppressive and somber atmosphere.
Chen Ze's heart stirred, and he suddenly remembered his Yin-Yang Mirror.
He quickly took out a mirror and looked around through it.
"This is bad, there's a ghostly aura here, we must leave as soon as possible," Chen Ze said gravely.
Yan Xiaoxiao's tears hadn't dried yet, but upon hearing the news, a determined expression immediately appeared on her face.
"I don't care what's here, I want to find my parents, even if they're corpses, I'll find them so they can rest in peace!"
Chen Ze glanced at Yan Xiaoxiao's tearful eyes, then at Tian Fen'er's tense and concerned face, and finally made a decision.
“Okay, let’s find out the truth here as soon as possible and then leave.” With that, Chen Ze walked to the rocks and soil to the side and began to dig.
The three men used stones and soil to bury the horrific corpses around them.
Yan Xiaoxiao still hasn't found her parents, but at least they offered their final condolences to these poor souls. (End of Chapter)
