Chapter 663
The Sudden Appearance of the Ghost
Standing in front of the colorful tower, Chen Ze felt as if he had been sucked into a vibrant dream.
The tower's light is dazzling and fantastical, making one feel as if it contains incredible power.
Chen Ze sensed that Tian Siyao behind him was also staring at the tower, as if she was equally attracted by its beauty and mystery.
"This tower doesn't look simple." Tian Siyao gripped the jade sword tightly in her hand, her eyes gleaming with a focused and awe-inspiring light.
Chen Ze gently picked up the Yin-Yang Mirror and put it in front of his eyes. The tower in the mirror was even more dazzling, as if it contained some kind of advanced runes and barrier, but there was no sign of evil or danger.
He smiled and said, "Let's take this."
I feel it has great potential, but I can't see how useful it is yet.
Tian Siyao smiled and replied, "Okay, but this thing looks quite heavy. Are you sure you want to put it in your backpack?"
"Don't worry, I have a way." Chen Ze took out the bluefish plate, turned it gently, and immediately felt a suction force pull the colorful tower inside.
After Chen Ze put the tower away with the bluefish plate, he looked around. The strange markings and ghostly shadows seemed to have disappeared, leaving only him and Tian Siyao standing in a mysterious and ancient open space.
Tian Siyao picked up the jade sword and waved it a few times, as if testing whether the surrounding environment had changed after the tower was put into her backpack.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
Chen Ze felt that the bluefish plate seemed to resonate subtly with the colorful pagoda, and he said with relief, "Everything is peaceful, and I think we can move on."
The two exchanged a smile, each picked up their magical artifacts, and prepared to continue venturing deeper into this unknown and dangerous area.
At this moment, Tian Siyao suddenly had a thought. She chanted a few lines of the Mind-Enlightening Mantra in a low voice, and a faint halo appeared on the jade sword, making the surrounding atmosphere seem much more peaceful.
Seeing Tian Siyao's action, Chen Ze smiled and said, "You're always so thoughtful."
Tian Siyao responded with a smile: "Insurance is always better than taking risks. We need to be careful."
And so, the two of them ventured hand in hand into the deeper darkness and the unknown, but their hearts were filled with courage and hope, because they knew that no matter what difficulties and dangers they faced, as long as they had something to rely on, they would surely find a way forward.
The colorful tower was like a new hope in their hearts, making them even more determined to find the truth and solve the problem.
Chen Ze and Tian Siyao finally saw the light shining through the darkness ahead, and they quickened their pace.
When they reached the end of the cave, they instantly felt a strange sense of exhilaration, as if they had finally found a water source after a long journey.
"Finally out. This cave was really a nightmare." Chen Ze breathed a sigh of relief, then took out his Yin-Yang Mirror and scanned the surroundings to make sure there were no ghosts or other supernatural beings.
Tian Siyao smiled and gripped the jade sword in her hand, as if preparing for what had just happened.
"You're right, but this trip was really exciting."
Their gazes were suddenly drawn to a strange mark on the rock wall at the cave exit. The mark was oddly shaped, like an ancient talisman.
Tian Siyao's heart tightened, and she couldn't help but think of the Mind-Clearing Mantra again, even though it wasn't needed in the current situation.
"Look over there, what do you think this mark means?" Chen Ze asked, his gaze shifting from the mark to Tian Siyao's face. He noticed a slight change in her expression, and she clearly sensed unease.
"I don't know, but it doesn't feel good," Tian Siyao said.
As she spoke, her eyes locked onto the mark, as if searching for its secrets.
Suddenly, a deep, indistinct voice echoed from the depths of the cave. The two turned their heads at the same time, but saw nothing.
Chen Ze gripped the Qingfeng Sword tightly in his hand, his five fingers tense as if wrapped around the hilt.
“Let’s get out of here quickly, it doesn’t feel safe.” Tian Siyao’s tone was serious. She looked around but didn’t see anything unusual. “Agreed.” Chen Ze also felt that staying here was not a wise move.
He glanced at the strange mark again, his sense of vigilance growing stronger.
The two quickened their pace, and just as they were about to leave the cave, they both felt a chill rushing towards them from behind.
They turned around simultaneously, only to see a dark figure disappear into the depths of the cave.
"What happened? What was that just now?" Chen Ze's expression was solemn. He knew that this expedition was far more complicated than they had imagined.
Tian Siyao took a breath and sheathed the jade sword again. "I don't know either, but I have a feeling that this is not over yet."
The two finally emerged from the cave, the darkness behind them like a mystery from which there was no turning back.
But in their hearts, they all knew that this experience was destined to become a mystery that they could never erase from their minds.
They walked out with heavy steps, as if something unseen still clung to them, unwilling to let go easily.
But at least, they still have a future to explore.
As soon as Chen Ze stepped out of the cave, a subtle feeling washed over him.
He felt the multicolored tower in his backpack seemed to warm up. "How do you feel?" Tian Siyao asked softly, clutching her jade sword as if ready to face any unforeseen circumstances.
Chen Ze hesitated for a moment, but finally took off his backpack and put it on the ground.
He opened his backpack, and the colorful tower came into view.
Its color was more vibrant than before, as if it were shimmering with some mysterious message.
“Look at this, it’s changed,” Chen Ze said softly.
When Tian Siyao got closer, she also felt that something was unusual.
"It seems to have been activated. Could it be related to some kind of power in the cave?" Chen Ze frowned and carefully observed the tower. Suddenly, a beam of light shot out from the top of the tower, illuminating the path in front of them.
"What does this mean? Is it guiding us?"
Tian Siyao also felt that something was amiss, but her intuition told her that it was not a trap.
"How about we follow it and see?"
Chen Ze picked up the multicolored tower and nodded.
"Okay, but be careful, who knows what we might encounter ahead?"
Following the beam of light, the two traversed a sparse forest and finally arrived at a mysterious clearing surrounded by stone pillars with strange patterns.
Just then, a low buzzing sound rang out, and then a sinister figure gradually took shape.
Tian Siyao gripped the jade sword tightly, ready to strike at any moment.
Chen Ze then took out the Yin-Yang Mirror, preparing to identify the suddenly appearing ghost.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" The figure finally coalesced into a blurry but terrifying face, like a demon rising from the abyss.
"We're here to investigate, we mean no harm." Chen Ze tried to make his voice sound firm, the Yin-Yang Mirror trembling slightly in his hand, as if searching for the ghost's weakness.
"Haha, reconnaissance? This isn't a place for you." The ghost's voice was full of sarcasm, as if it found their intentions utterly ridiculous. (End of Chapter)
