Chapter 884

Patterns on the Wall

Xiao Chu took out a bait token from his pocket and handed it to Tian Siyao: "This is a tool we used before, it might be helpful to you."

Tian Siyao took the bait tag and nodded gratefully.

She carefully examined the symbols and structure on the bait card and asked with some doubt, "What's the principle behind this?"

Xiao Chu smiled and explained, "This is a mysterious mechanism that can confuse the enemy and guide us forward."

Hearing Xiao Chu's explanation, the three became even more convinced of the woman's hidden wisdom and ability.

Afterwards, Tian Siyao, Qin Miyue, and Chen Ze followed Xiao Chu along the mountain path.

As they traversed the increasingly dense forest, they discovered strange markings carved on some of the trees.

These markings seem to conceal some kind of message, guiding them to their destination.

"It seems we're heading in the right direction," Tian Siyao said excitedly.

They continued to follow the markers.

Gradually, Biying Gorge came into view.

The view before me was breathtaking, with lush forests all around.

The air was filled with a delightful fragrance, making one feel as if they were in a fairyland.

With her understanding of symbols, Tian Siyao noticed that some trees still had peculiar markings carved on them.

These markings seem to be pointing the way forward.

She led the team through lush, green forests.

They carefully skirted around one of the large trees, as if going through a secret passage, and ventured deeper inside.

The forest grew increasingly quiet, with only the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze and the cheerful chirping of birds.

They crossed the hills, trying their best to find any secret passages that might be hidden near Biying Gorge.

Soon after, Tian Siyao saw a depression appear in front of a huge rock wall.

"There's a hidden entrance here!" Tian Siyao exclaimed in surprise.

She carefully touched the surface of the giant rock and triggered the mechanism inside.

With a roar, the giant rock slowly moved aside, revealing a dark cave entrance.

Tian Siyao, Qin Miyue, and Chen Ze looked at the pitch-black, abyss-like cave entrance, feeling extremely apprehensive.

They knew that this led to a hidden place shrouded in ancient legends—the Azure Shadow Gorge.

It is said that this place was once the place where a high monk practiced, leaving behind many mysterious symbols and mechanisms.

"We must proceed with caution," Tian Siyao warned. "There may be many dangers lurking here."

After entering the forest, the group arrived at Dusk Terrace.

The view here is expansive, offering a panoramic vista of the entire Emerald Mist Valley.

Tian Siyao, Qin Miyue, and Chen Ze traveled through the dense forest.

Small animals occasionally leap across the branches, making a rustling sound.

Every few steps they took, they could see some strange markings carved on the trees.

Although these markings appear to be random, they exude a magical aura.

Xiao Chu stared at the markings and frowned.

“These markings seem to carry some kind of special energy, but I can’t figure out their specific meaning,” she said thoughtfully.

Tian Siyao took out the bait card and examined it carefully. "Perhaps we can connect the bait card with these markings."

"Perhaps there is some kind of code or hint between them."

Qin Miyue patted her head, "Siyao is so smart! Maybe we need to rely on the bait card to solve this mystery."

So they walked toward the nearest marker and inserted the bait into a dent in the tree.

Suddenly, the long-faded symbol shone brightly again, spreading outwards.

As the light appeared, the air in the forest became even fresher.

They felt as if they were in a fairyland.

Amidst this beautiful scenery, a blurry figure gradually came into view.

"Welcome to Phantom Slope," the figure said leisurely, his voice like a clear spring flowing through the heart. Tian Siyao, Qin Miyue, and Chen Ze exchanged glances, each able to read the curiosity and surprise in the other's eyes.

Xiao Chu's fingers trembled slightly, filled with anticipation.

"I am a citizen of the Spirit Clan in the Demon Realm, and my name is Lan Feiyu."

The woman who appeared before them stared at the four of them. "I saw you hoping to lift the curse and learned that you were about to go to the tomb of the War King."

Everyone was greatly surprised. "How did you know that?" Chen Ze asked.

Lan Feiyu explained with a smile, "Our Spirit Race has the ability to perceive everything that happens on Earth."

"My job is to help."

"Since you have already cooperated with Xiao Chu, then you are friends of my Spirit Clan."

Led by Lan Feiyu, the four of them entered Phantom Slope.

The fog here is denser, enveloping the entire area.

A dreamlike scene flashed before my eyes, appearing and disappearing intermittently.

“The illusions here are very special; they don’t just mimic our scenery,” Lan Feiyu said softly. “Each illusion carries some kind of information or answer.”

As soon as she finished speaking, an image of a skilled swordsman appeared before her eyes. In the swordplay, he rode past on horseback, his hands moving like shooting stars, his movements swift and agile.

Chen Ze stared intently.

“That’s Baiqu Changqing,” Lan Feiyu explained. “He is one of the grandmasters of ancient swordsmanship. Perhaps he can give you some inspiration.”

Chen Ze stood still, staring at the phantom of Bai Qu Changqing, which resembled a soul.

He has long had a deep love and pursuit of swordsmanship, and now it seems that he has found a direction.

The others gradually began to experience their own illusions, with figures appearing before them, as if revealing their deepest desires and secrets.

After a period of observation and reflection, they shared their insights and feelings with each other.

"These illusions seem to be giving us clues about the curse and the Lord of War," Qin Miyue concluded.

"We need more clues to find a way to break the curse."

Tian Siyao looked into the distance, "I hope this Phantom Slope can give us more answers."

The group decided to stay and continue observing the illusions and exploring their mysteries.

Lan Feiyu also said that she would do her best to provide more information for their reference.

They understood that every step of this adventure was part of breaking the curse and finding the truth.

However, many unknowns still await them on this mysterious land.

After some discussion, the four decided to go to Ghost Slope for further investigation.

They arrived at the top of Ghost Slope and witnessed a scene shrouded in thick fog.

Qin Miyue took out the Soul-Guiding Token and gently held it in her hand; it emitted a faint light.

Following the direction indicated by the light, they began to explore deeper into the cave.

The cave was dark and damp, and the atmosphere was even more intense with the pervasive mist.

The walls are covered with ancient and unknown characters and patterns, which look very mysterious.

Tian Siyao walked to the wall and observed it carefully. She squinted her eyes, trying to decipher its meaning.

“These patterns and characters must be some kind of record, containing important information,” Tian Siyao said, frowning.

"Perhaps this is one of the secrets hidden in Phantom Slope."

Chen Ze said softly, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly and scanning his surroundings warily.

Qin Miyue leaned closer to Tian Siyao and they analyzed together: "These characters seem to be related to magic. Have you seen any familiar or similar symbols?"

After a moment's thought, Tian Siyao shook her head: "I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with these symbols."

“But I can try to decipher the patterns.”

She began to examine the patterns on the wall more closely.

Each pattern seems to represent a different plot or message.

If we can decipher its meaning, we might be able to find clues related to the curse. (End of Chapter)
