Chapter 45
Alessa's Hunting Moment
As the sun sets and darkness falls, the No. 8 estate in the Hollywood Hills remains brightly lit, like a galaxy of stars in the night sky, dazzling and captivating.
The enormous crystal chandelier, like an inverted waterfall of stars, cascades down from the high ceiling of the hall, illuminating the smooth, mirror-like marble floor.
The melodious sound of violins mingled with the laughter and chatter of guests, the clinking of wine glasses, and the air was filled with the mixed aromas of expensive perfumes, cigars, and fine food.
One after another, gleaming luxury cars silently glided to the porch, and elegantly dressed celebrities, producers, and business tycoons filed in under the sharp gaze of security personnel.
Right at this magnificent and bustling entrance, a cold and petite figure emerged from the shadows.
Aresa was still wearing that black gothic dress, holding a Frankenstein's monster doll in her arms. Her grey-blue eyes calmly swept over the shimmering world before her as she slowly approached, and then—
Just as she was about to reach the porch, she suddenly turned around and slowly walked into the light.
This subtle turn made it seem as if she had just walked out of the house. The security guard at the door saw it out of the corner of his eye but didn't react at all, not only because she was leaving, but also because he ignored and trusted the little girl.
Yes! Who would deliberately pay attention to a child in such a crowded environment?
Alessa had already identified her targets: two young actresses dressed in evening gowns and with exquisite makeup. They stepped out of the car arm in arm and slowly walked towards the porch, with the man behind them taking out the invitations first.
Aresa walked precisely to the tall, sweet-looking actress, raised her head, stared intently at her with her grey-blue eyes, and said in a clear but flat voice:
"Hi!"
The blonde actress Emily paused for a moment, looked down at the porcelain doll-like little girl, and was amused by the abrupt greeting:
"Hi~! Hello, sweetheart!"
Emily knew very well that this child was likely the child of some important person or celebrity, and she needed to show enough friendliness, kindness and affection; that was the right way to respond.
She was about to affectionately pat the little girl's head when Aresa slightly turned away and continued with her second sentence:
"Someone wants to see you." As she spoke, she turned and glanced inside.
Emily's smile froze for a moment, then turned into immense joy and relief. Clearly, this girl was sent by some important figure to deliver a message to her.
A director? A producer? A famous actor? Or the master's business partner?
It doesn't matter! No matter who it is, this is a major opportunity for her! She's not afraid of what others think of her, including dating, sleeping with, or being her lover; what matters is that all this effort will yield enough results.
The fact that we were able to meet at Mr. Howard's residence speaks volumes about this person's identity.
"Where is he?" Emily asked in a low voice, her voice brimming with barely suppressed joy.
Alessa didn't say anything, but simply took Emily's hand and said, "Come with me."
Emily's heart began to race, and a brighter smile bloomed on her face. As Alessa walked toward the mansion, her female companion cast envious glances, clearly thinking that Emily had also encountered good fortune.
And so, through a series of interwoven details, Alessa was warmly led by Emily and entered the bustling banquet hall with open arms.
Upon entering this magnificent and bustling center, Emily was overwhelmed by the noise and social obligations.
People I know greet me, a waiter brings me champagne, and an assistant hurriedly straightens the wrinkled hem of my skirt…
Just then, Alessa's voice rang out, not loud, but clearly penetrating the surrounding noise:
"Wait! I'll come to you."
The words were as brief as pre-programmed instructions.
Before Emily could react, the small blue figure, like a nimble fish, vanished instantly into the elegantly dressed crowd.
Emily was somewhat taken aback. She looked up in the direction where the figure had disappeared, then subconsciously looked up again—
On the second-floor terrace, she indeed saw several famous directors and producers talking quietly. When she looked up, two of them noticed her.
Emily was overjoyed and immediately flashed what she thought was her sweetest and most charming smile, gracefully nodding slightly towards the terrace.
The directors on the terrace were busy talking. When they saw the actress below greeting them, they politely raised their glasses in return, which further solidified Emily's idea...
Having successfully escaped, Alessa walked around the long table laden with snacks and food, exited through the door leading to the side wing, and as she passed by, she merely turned slightly to the side, already grabbing a hard waffle before stepping out the door.
Outside the gate, a camera flashing red light is pointed directly at the wall and the small gate on top of it.
Alessa walked behind the camera without even stopping or turning her head, and simply raised her hand!
Snapped!
A soft but crisp thud. The hard cookie, like a precise bullet, slammed into the edge of the camera's spherical casing.
The powerful impact caused the camera to suddenly jerk, changing its angle from monitoring the back door to pointing at the decorative vines above and a small patch of night sky.
The red light was still flashing, but it had lost its proper visibility.
Alessa didn't even glance at the result, turned around and went back to the hall to resume her work.
Get close to everyone you meet, observe and sniff closely, find the various scents mixed with death and decay, and drag out the painted skin ghost!
…………
Outside the back gate of the manor, Constanze watched as Alessa emerged, smashing the security camera askew. He then excitedly put away his binoculars and picked up his long, slender handbag.
"It's done!"
Like three shadows blending into the night, the three quickly approached the edge of the mansion and reached the side door. Catherine then pulled out a special tool hidden under her skirt.
The three of them had already changed their clothes by this time:
Catherine wore a low-key little black dress with a cardigan over it; Constanze and Qin Jin wore well-fitting dark suits.
They weren't posing as official guests; they looked more like entourage members, assistants, bodyguards, secretaries, or other service personnel of some important figures.
Click.
A very faint, almost inaudible click of a mechanism opening.
The side door was silently pushed open a crack, and the three slipped inside, quickly closing the door behind them.
The three walked along the meticulously manicured bush path in the garden toward the side corridor of the main house's brightly lit and bustling banquet hall, and then entered the edge of the hall through a side door.
Several tall indoor plants are used as screens, allowing a clear view of the center of the hall and most of the guests while remaining inconspicuous.
Qin Jin picked up a glass of champagne from the waiter's tray, and Catherine elegantly took a glass of juice. They seemed to be chatting casually together, but their eyes were like searchlights, finding Alessa moving through the crowd and watching her every move.
Constantine, carrying his satchel, walked toward the kitchen to inspect the waiters and chefs, and also to check the freezer for any traces.
The show has begun, and both hunter and prey have entered the arena.
Now it's Alessa's time to hunt!
