Chapter 47

The Vampire Attack

Just as Alessa followed the butler up to the platform, Constanze emerged from a small door in the corner and walked to Qin Jin and Catherine's side:

"Nothing was found; everything is normal."

Qin Jin nodded, his gaze following Alessa as she ascended to the third floor, then he glanced at Catherine:

"If you were asked to check the surveillance footage, what would you do?"

Catherine was visibly taken aback. She couldn't tell if Qin Jin genuinely intended for her to go or was just testing her casually. She thought for a moment...

"Reveal your identity..." The words had barely left her lips when she realized her mistake and immediately shook her head.

"No, I can't reveal my identity, or..." Catherine bit her lip, her eyes sparkling, "...how about a little seduction?"

Catherine looked at Qin Jin's expression, which was languid and made it impossible to tell whether his answer was right or wrong. However, the ambiguous smile on Jack's face made her realize that her approach might not align with Qin Jin's thinking.

"No need for that trouble, just knock him out!" Qin Jin offered his opinion.

"If you get caught, pretend to be drunk and say that the security guard in the monitoring room touched your chest—there's a high chance there aren't any cameras in the monitoring room, so don't worry."

Catherine realized that Qin Jin and his team's methods were actually simpler and more direct than she had imagined, completely disregarding police regulations. She hesitated for a moment, then whispered:

"Shall I go take a look?"

This was exactly what Qin Jin meant by asking the question. He was about to nod when his nostrils twitched, and his originally calm and lazy gaze instantly became incredibly sharp.

"Something's not right..." His voice was low and urgent, and both Constantine and Catherine heard it clearly:

"The smell of blood is overwhelming!" Qin Jin strode towards the corridor window. "There are dead people outside... and more than one!"

The moment he finished speaking—

"Bang!"

A dull thud came abruptly from the garden. The sound wasn't loud amidst the noise in the hall, but Qin Jin heard it very clearly. At the same time, he could already see the scene outside the window.

Constantine and Catherine were only half a step behind him, and their eyes swept over him almost simultaneously.

The security personnel who should have been patrolling the garden have all disappeared!

Dark stains, barely visible under the dim landscape lights, remained on the ground, silently telling the story of what had just happened.

Even more unexpectedly, in the shadow of the wall, behind the bushes, and among the trees outside the corridor, stood twenty or thirty silent, dark figures. Some were quickly sealing off the entire garden along the wall, while others were rapidly crossing the garden, approaching the front, back, left, and right doorways and walkways.

"What is that?" Constanze gasped, and Catherine was also surprised, wondering what had happened.

"Let's go up to the second floor and take a look first!" Qin Jin made a quick decision. Before those figures could come in, he quickly followed the wall to the spiral staircase, rushed up to the second floor, and silently disappeared into the room next to the terrace. He observed the movements below through the room's window.

Almost simultaneously, the door on the fourth floor with the telegraph icon opened, and Howard Winston walked out, seemingly relieved by his impromptu decision.

However, just as Howard arrived in the lobby via the elevator—

ah--!!!

A terrified scream shattered the peaceful atmosphere of the banquet hall, erupting abruptly!

The noise in the hall instantly subsided, the music stopped abruptly, the laughter froze, and then more terrified screams, shattering glasses, and shouting erupted!

boom! ! !

A gunshot rang out, drowning out all other sounds!

A female celebrity who tried to rush towards the door had her chest explode with blood, screaming as she collapsed to the ground. The shooter was a pale-faced but serious-looking man holding a silver pistol.

He jumped onto the food table, casually sweeping the plates and trays below with his feet, the sound clearly echoing through the hall:

"Get down! Hands behind your head, don't move! If you cooperate, you'll be fine; if you don't, you'll suffer the same fate as her!"

As if by magic, a dozen or so people rushed into the banquet hall from the various doors of the mansion, herding the guests like pigs and sheep, guns in hand, with the dark muzzles of their guns pointed at each one of them.

The actress's corpse and the blatant threat immediately stunned everyone present. Screams were choked back, leaving only suppressed sobs and heavy breathing. Fear spread among everyone like a plague.

In just five seconds, almost everyone squatted down on the ground.

Like well-trained soldiers, after taking control of the entire area, they immediately dispatched a group of men to the kitchen, storage room, garage, stairwell...

They are clearly looking for any fish that slipped through the net.

At that moment, two figures slowly walked in through the main entrance, and Constantine immediately recognized them—

One of them was a tall woman wearing a tight black leather outfit with a long sword slung over her back, outlining a powerful and intimidating silhouette. She had thick black hair and cold eyes; she was none other than Deathwalker Selena.

The elderly man accompanying her, with a slightly hunched back and an unnaturally pale face, whose bald head gleamed with an eerie light, was also an acquaintance—Elder Eli, the vampire elder.

"Qin! These are the Death Walker Selena and the Vampire Elder Eli I told you about!" Constanze lowered his voice and told Qin Jin about their identities. Qin Jin's eyelids twitched slightly, and Catherine's worldview was once again overturned!

She probably wasn't as shocked as she was today in the previous twenty-odd years!

Upon seeing these two appear, considering the scale of the scene, coupled with Selena's strange pursuit of the werewolf and her tracking of Aurel's vehicle, the Painted Skin Ghost temporarily fled...

Qin Jin instantly connected all the clues!

"The Painted Skin Demon!" he murmured, his voice revealing a profound understanding that seemed to know everything.

"The Death Walkers came all the way from Europe, partly pretending to hunt werewolves, but actually just to find this thing. And that wretched creature killed someone to escape, also to avoid them! What a big fuss!"

"Fuck! They were the ones who ripped me off! It was less than ninety thousand dollars!"

Constantin began taking things out of the bag, including the enormous sacred hunting rifle. He held the gun in his hand, gritting his teeth.

"Qin, don't stop me, I'm going to kill these things!"

"Let's take a look first. Don't worry, there'll be a chance!" Qin Jin pressed his gun muzzle down and whispered a reminder.

At this moment, Lina and Eli had already begun to slowly walk through the crouching crowd, carefully identifying the scent on each person, much like what Alessa had just done!

In this suffocating, deathly silence—

"boom!!!"

A loud cracking sound came from the fourth floor!

The door on the fourth floor, painted with fairytale patterns, suddenly shattered as if hit by a cannonball! Splinters of wood and dust flew everywhere!

A small white figure was thrown out of the door and over the railing with a short, strange screech, as if by an invisible force, and then fell straight down!

"No—!! Michelle!!!"

Howard Winston, who was crouching on the ground, looked furious and let out a desperate roar. He stood up and rushed towards the direction where Michelle had fallen!

But it was too late!

Bang!

The small figure crashed heavily onto the polished marble floor in the center of the hall!

The sound of bones cracking could be clearly heard! Hands and feet were twisted at extremely bizarre angles.

The crowd erupted in even more terrified screams! Winston felt as if his heart was being torn apart, and he collapsed to the ground in vain, tears instantly streaming down his aged face!

However, the next second, something truly shocking happened!
