Chapter 16
Sisters in Arms
"Hehe, I can still tell the difference between good and bad."
Herren answered with his face held high.
He had just arrived and of course didn't know what had happened, but just because he didn't know the situation didn't mean he didn't understand Aisha.
Ash is a good person in the literal sense, and sometimes even seems a bit like a saint... Whether it's from his past life or his interactions with her recently, Herren is certain of this.
So, what are people who go against good people if not bad people? Herren then assumed that Draklon was the villain.
In any case, Frost Priests were never a good thing in Heron's eyes.
"You've been bewitched by her; she's a treacherous person!"
"Breach of trust? What trust? Don't talk nonsense..."
Herren waved his hand impatiently; he was there to take sides, not to listen to reason.
"I told you to stay away from her, are you deaf?"
Heron raised the power of entropy with one hand and pointed forward. Even with just a wave, the biting coldness caused the frost priests, led by Drakron, to retreat several steps.
Having been forced back by a fireman, Draklon was clearly embarrassed. In the past, he would have definitely used his "dark magic" to retaliate.
But perhaps out of fear of Herren's power, or perhaps because Herren's possible status as a "chosen one" made him hesitate, he just gritted his teeth and continued to talk.
"You're an outsider! A member of the Hearth Village! This Avarosa only consumes the tribe's meager food supplies; you have no right to protect her!"
"Really? What about me?"
Another voice came, and Sejuani walked over, holding a long sword, and stood in front of Ashe.
She gave Draklon a cold glance, then gave Ashe a reassuring look before turning to look at her followers.
"Hear, Claw of Winter! I am Sejuani, of the icy blood of the Warmother, Qogia! I am the one who has organized this feast!"
As she spoke, she pointed at the bewildered Aisha.
"I will make this outsider my robe, and I guarantee she will prove herself before the next full moon!"
Sejuani announced loudly.
In Freljord, a strong woman can form blood oaths with many men, and similarly, she can form sworn brotherhoods with other equally strong women who have earned her approval.
In a sense, this is equivalent to Helen's sworn brother...sister in her previous life.
This is Sejuani using her own name and her identity as a descendant of the Frostblood to vouch for Ashe.
As the only bloodline of the War Mother Kojiya, this guarantee was obviously very powerful, and the tribesmen were quickly calmed down, while Draklon was somewhat annoyed by the situation.
"I could easily take care of you too, Sejuani!"
"Um?!"
Heron raised an eyebrow and turned slightly to the side, revealing the massive True Ice Warhammer's ferocious appearance, which made Drakon's heart tighten.
Heron wasn't actually threatening Delacron; he was just genuinely puzzled.
Isn't Sejuani the daughter of the Warmother? How dare a priestess of Winter's Claw make such a threat in public?
Sejuani didn't seem too surprised.
Herren was somewhat confused.
"Stay away from my daughter, priest."
At this moment, Kojiya, who had already heard the news, finally arrived. She took the initiative to speak, but she did not show any favoritism. She glared at Sejuani, who had taken it upon herself to make the decision.
Sejuani, who had been so imposing just moments before, was now somewhat speechless, but she still stubbornly glared back.
"Hmph, Sejuani, you're too bold, always acting impulsively..."
After saying that, she looked at Herren again... She immediately noticed the giant hammer in Herren's hand.
"This is?"
"The Power of Entropy, the Perfect Ice Warhammer."
"When? Did you just build it?"
"Of course, old Ian saw it with his own eyes."
Kuojiya was somewhat surprised. When she heard the words "Zhenbing", her pupils contracted sharply. When she heard that it was forged by Herren in just a few hours after he came out of the tent, her surprise intensified.
Delacron narrowed his eyes as well.
So it's a True Ice weapon... No wonder it has such terrifying magic.
He's someone who can forge True Ice weapons? It's said that only the legendary Ornn could do that…
Draklon was now almost certain that Herren was indeed Orn's chosen one, and he was extremely glad that he hadn't acted rashly.
Kujiya was clearly interested in the weapon, but after glancing at the Frost Priest beside her, she withdrew her outstretched hand.
"Daughter, tonight is not the right time for the wedding ceremony. Although the tribe is short of food, there is plenty of mead. We should celebrate tonight... I will decide how to deal with this outsider tomorrow morning."
"Kogiya, you know this is against the rules."
Gogia's seemingly suppressive but actually biased actions greatly displeased Dracón.
Kuojiya simply waved his hand and addressed the frost priests.
"Let's go, let's talk somewhere else."
Then, Kojiya led several frost priests away into the distance, but this scene made Harren frown.
He could clearly sense that Kujiya was very interested in the power of entropy... but she still chose to "appease" the Frost Priest first.
This frost ritual seems to be more than just a simple tribal ritual...
Even the War Mother of Winter's Claw is thus bound by the shackles of the Frost Ritual...
"Alright! Everyone, disperse!"
With Kog'iah and the Frost Priestess gone, Sejuani, of the remaining people, became the Queen of the Mountain. She dispersed everyone and then asked Ashe about the cause of the conflict.
Sejuani was puzzled when she learned that the incident stemmed from Ashe wanting to ask the two fire-breastmen for some broth.
It's not because of the magnitude of this matter, but because of Ashe's actions... What business is it of yours if you're two lousy furnace workers?
As for Harren... he's a blacksmith warrior, a priestess who fights, a completely different person from a furnace dweller. That's what Sejuani always thought. Although she called Harren a furnace dweller, it was mostly just mutual insults.
Yes, in Sejuani's eyes, "hearthhouse" is a derogatory term.
"Give them both a bowl of meat soup, then tell them to get lost!"
But out of consideration for Ashe, Sejuani used her authority as the organizer of the banquet to generously give away some food.
After the two young fire-breastmen left with gratitude, Sejuani turned to look at Horren and Ashe.
Ashe fell silent. Things were moving too fast. There was the Frost Priestess, then Harren, Sejuani, and even the Warmother of Winter's Claw.
A group of people surrounded her, some defending her, some attacking her, and she couldn't do anything about it... But no matter what, she had gotten herself into trouble.
She felt somewhat dejected, unsure whether following Sejuani to Winter's Claw was the right or wrong decision.
At that moment, Sejuani grabbed her hand.
"Let's go, Ash."
"Go? Where to?"
"What do you mean, 'where are we going'? Didn't I just say that we're going to become sworn brothers, and we'll hold the ceremony tonight?"
Aisha was taken aback by what she heard.
"But your mother..."
"Don't worry about her. As long as we make it a fait accompli, she can't do anything to me."
The covenant of Freljord is sacred, and even as Sejuani's mother, Gorgia has no right to force her to break the covenant.
"Helen, come too, as our witness."
