Chapter 45
Migration Plan
"Ouch... my head hurts so much."
When Sejuani opened her eyes again, she was already lying in her own bed.
Sunlight streamed in through the half-open gaps in the tent, stinging one's eyes.
The sound of water reached her ears. Sejuani looked closely and saw that it was Herren standing there, soaking a towel in the water.
"!!!"
After a brief moment of regaining her senses, Sejuani's eyes widened suddenly.
The events of last night fragmented and seeped into her mind, leaving her momentarily filled with shame and indignation.
She quickly slowed her movements, closed her eyes again, and continued to pretend to be asleep... but it was obviously too late; Herren's teasing voice had already reached her ears.
"You're awake? Great Demon King?"
"Um……"
Seeing that she couldn't hide it any longer, Sejuani had no choice but to open her eyes again, too embarrassed to look at Heron, and slowly sat up.
She scratched the back of her neck awkwardly, her eyes darting around as if trying to find a hole in the ground beneath her feet.
At that moment, Herren walked up to her and handed her a towel soaked in hot water.
"Using cold water will make you more alert."
"Heh, then you'd better watch out for facial paralysis."
Sejuani peeked up and noticed that although Heron was smiling, there was a large bruise on his left cheek.
"What happened? Who hit you?"
Sejuani frowned, but Harren looked at her with a strange expression.
"No one hit me; it was just my mother's affectionate caress."
"..."
Sejuani was so embarrassed she wished she could just pass out drunk again on the spot. She could only wipe her face haphazardly with a hot towel and pretend she was busy.
"I'm lucky. Poor Udyr, he's so old, and you beat him to a pulp, unable to fight back..."
"..."
Sejuani coughed lightly and said in a muffled voice.
"I understand... From this day forward, I will abstain from alcohol!"
She had never drunk too much before, and this was the first time she had realized she could be so irritable when drunk...
"Giving up alcohol is fine, but I have some new ideas for drinks, and I'm even planning to have you try them out."
Herren smiled as he took the towel and casually tossed it into the basin.
Sejuani was somewhat flustered, afraid of learning more embarrassing things about herself while drunk, so she quickly changed the subject.
"Oh, right, that missing person..."
"She's not a lost soul. Her name is Aurora, a Vastaya rabbit-person... You know Vastaya, right? You can think of her as an ordinary person who looks more like an animal."
Of course, Aura herself is no ordinary person, as Harren had already witnessed during the time Sejuani was unconscious.
"Oh... I really chased her away?"
"No, but she was frightened by you last night, so I'll relay the message about her."
"Oh……"
Sejuani nodded, and in front of Heron, she still frankly admitted her mistake.
"I went crazy last night..."
"It would be best to apologize to them."
"...Is an apology really necessary?"
"Don't be so shy. What if they really helped you a lot?"
Heron pulled a leather flask from his waist and handed it to Sejuani.
"Try it."
Sejuani took the flask, opened it, and took a sniff. A strong aroma of liquor wafted out, but it wasn't pungent; instead, it carried a fragrance reminiscent of a fireplace.
She tentatively took a bite, and felt a warm sensation flow down her throat into her stomach, then spread throughout her body.
Sejuani's tent was already warm, but after drinking this, she felt a bit hot all over.
"It's so hot... What did you add to it?"
???
Why does this feel like a strange sense of déjà vu...?
"Ahem... I didn't add anything. This is a drink I made with Aurora's help. I called it the Burning Agent. You've seen the effect; it makes people who drink it feel real warmth."
Heron had already thought of using the Primordial Flame within him to infuse the wine and create a potion that could truly provide warmth, but he was hampered by his lack of knowledge of magical theory, making it impossible for him to purify and weaken the magic within him and infuse it into the wine.
But coincidentally, Aurora is a rabbit skilled in magic.
Perhaps because the base liquor was of such poor quality that it could not absorb magical energy well, the initial version of the Burning Elixir was not very effective. However, Herren was confident that he could use his brewing knowledge to create a liquor that would be a perfect match.
"With this, I don't think anyone will freeze to death during the next tribal migration... Don't you think this is a huge help?"
"Um……"
Sejuani looked at the flask in her hand. Having grown up in the harsh environment of Freljord, she naturally knew what such a potion meant.
This is something that can truly save lives... She had to admit that it was indeed a great help.
But she still spoke hesitantly.
"I would thank her, but apologizing is..."
"Alright, just for my sake?"
"……snort."
Sejuani rolled her eyes at him, gave a soft snort, and remained noncommittal.
Harren roughly guessed what Sejuani meant, so he stopped pressing the issue, casually pulled over a stool, and sat down in front of Sejuani.
"Well then, I can talk about the return... Ara's purpose is simple. She has a friend from the spirit world, whose name is something like Aihar something? I can't remember."
"The spirit world?"
"I know you're confused, but don't be confused yet, let me finish."
"Oh……"
Heron pulled out a map he had borrowed from the Noxians and showed it to Sejuani, pointing to one of the places.
"This is a Noxian map. Her friend is lost and we need to find someone who knows enough about the Spirit Realm to help her. And I happen to know old Ornn well... so I'm going to take her to Hearthstone. Hearthstone is roughly in this location."
The Noxian map doesn't mark Hearthglen or the half-mountain of old Ornn, since Hearthglen is now just a pile of ruins, and most Noxians wouldn't even look at it.
But based on his memories of the journey, Herren roughly determined the location of Furnace Village on the map.
In the southern part of the area next to the Hearthstone ruins, the Noxians marked it as an area with a "warmer climate and weak local tribes, suitable as an outpost".
This is very useful information, indicating that the Noxians consider the area suitable for habitation.
The fact that the local tribes were not strong also indirectly proves that food was relatively abundant there... Most of the powerful tribes in Freljord were concentrated in the north, precisely because food was scarce and competition was fierce there, and those without sufficient martial virtue would have starved to death long ago.
"Coincidentally, there is a suitable migration site not far from Luxiang, and the tribe can also migrate there along the way."
After saying that, Heron handed the map to Sejuani, who fiddled with it for a long time but looked completely bewildered.
The Noxian map was exquisitely crafted, but to Sejuani it was like a foreign language; she simply couldn't understand it.
But she didn't want to admit it, so she pretended to study it for a long time before saying:
"Then why don't we just settle down in Luxiang?"
"Heh, I'm from Luxiang. There's no way they could support so many people there."
Herren is very familiar with the living environment of the furnace village. Although it is not as cold as the north, food is relatively scarce. It is hard to imagine that there was a prosperous tribe here a thousand years ago.
Perhaps it was the great war between demigods a thousand years ago that changed the terrain and climate here.
Even if there were plenty of food there, Harren didn't want the Winter's Claw to migrate there... Old Orn hated noise, so he was somewhat patient with the Hearthmen.
