Chapter 7
Sisters Reunion
"Sorry, bear-men, I was starving and wandered into your territory by mistake..."
With the giant serpent dead, Ashe is about to face a new "crisis".
She didn't know whether the people who came were friend or foe. Although they seemed to be saving her, Ashe knew that they might only be there for their prey.
The bear-men are extremely territorial and brutal, and it seems very dangerous for me to trespass here.
"A bear-man?"
Sejuani smiled, walked over, and took off her hat.
"God, after all these years, you really don't recognize me?"
The unfamiliar voice and somewhat familiar face startled Aisha, who had just experienced the pain of her race's annihilation.
Gradually, Sejuani's face began to overlap with the face in her memory.
"You are... Sejuani?!"
Ashe's eyes lit up instantly, and she dragged her heavy body over and suddenly hugged Sejuani tightly.
Having endured a series of setbacks, she was able to meet her best friend here. Heaven knows how she felt at this moment.
Feeling the strength of Ashe's embrace and her body sinking lower and lower, Sejuani's heart tightened. Then, remembering that Ashe was alone here, she immediately realized that Ashe was probably in trouble.
"For five summers, my biggest worry has been never seeing you again... Why, Ash, why are you here alone? Where are your family?"
Upon hearing this, Aisha closed her eyes in anguish.
"My tribe... is gone."
Sejuani's pupils contracted, but she wasn't particularly shocked.
On this cruel land, the annihilation of a tribe is almost commonplace; even the most powerful tribe cannot escape the torment of fate.
She only cares about one thing.
"Then...Glenna?"
Ashe shook her head sadly, and Sejuani also looked dejected.
Glenna is Ashe's biological mother, and Sejuani often saw her when the two tribes were still sister tribes.
Having never experienced maternal love since childhood, Sejuani felt a long-lost warmth from Glenna, and upon hearing this devastating news, she couldn't help but feel a chill in her heart.
"God...this is so unfair..."
The two remained silent, neither of them speaking.
Just then, footsteps approached, and it was Herren, who had recovered, walking over.
Ashe quickly composed herself, not wanting to show her vulnerable side in front of strangers.
She forced a smile as she spoke.
"I never knew your tribe had such a powerful shaman..."
"You're wrong in two ways. First, he's not from our tribe. Second, he... is a hearthman, not a shaman."
"A furnace maker?!"
Ashe was taken aback by his words. Being kind-hearted by nature, she didn't have any aversion to the Hearthstone Clan like Sejuani, but she also couldn't associate the Hearthstone Clan with power.
"Aren't you going to introduce this person to me first?"
"Aishie, my best sister, and my only friend."
"It's kind of disheartening; don't I even qualify?"
Herren walked over, looked at the fractured earth beneath his feet, and was quite satisfied with "his own power".
I think I pulled off a successful stunt this time...
Once I'm in Winter's Claw, Sejuani will be treating me to all sorts of good food and drink, won't she? And then there's Avarosan's Warmother... or at least the future Warmother.
A huge win! We're ecstatic! The future looks bright!
"What just happened to you? You know magic? Didn't you say you only knew blacksmithing?"
"First of all, I'm not just good at forging, I can also build and brew wine. Secondly... I'm a blacksmith, so it's normal for me to be strong, right?"
Herren smiled, wanting to keep up the act for a while longer, when suddenly a rumble of thunder came from the sky.
"Oh no! I'm going to die!"
Sejuani's expression changed. Not daring to waste any more time asking questions, she hurriedly pulled out her dagger and walked towards the giant snake.
With a sharp dagger, Sejuani easily sliced through the skin, then divided the cut meat into even pieces and tied them together with a piece of animal hide she had easily cut off.
"Quick! Come help!"
Ashe, with more survival experience than Harren, immediately realized what was happening and went over to help.
Heron was stunned for a moment before he realized... This was Volibear's territory, the mortal enemy of Ornn.
My magic just now clearly had the aura of an old sheep... Could it be that it alarmed a demigod?
Herren shuddered and hurriedly went to help.
But as he passed the snake's head, he was drawn to the light coming from its mouth.
The snake's mouth was wide open, revealing a dense array of sharp teeth, making it look extremely terrifying.
[Grubin's Fang: A high-quality forging material.]
"nice one!"
Herren quickly turned his attention to her, pulled out his hand hammer, lunged forward, and knocked out several teeth before stuffing them into his pocket.
"Helen! What are you doing?!"
Sejuani was somewhat puzzled and annoyed.
"Why are you breaking your teeth? You can't eat them!"
Eat, eat, eat! All you ever do is eat! You gluttonous girl!
Having never experienced the brutal beatings of Freljord, Heron didn't quite understand Sejuani's urgency. On the contrary, the precious materials before them were undeniably real.
After knocking out a few teeth and tearing off a few pieces of skin, Herren could clearly feel that the storm in the distance seemed to be getting closer and closer.
"I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die!"
Sejuani and Ashe moved quickly and had already cut off quite a bit of meat. Sejuani originally wanted to put on her sled and bring back more, but it was already too late.
With no other option, she and Aisha each grabbed a large bag and prepared to run away.
"Stop standing there! Herren! Grab the meat! Let's go!"
"knew!"
Herren knew he couldn't delay any longer. He was strong and had a long arm span, enough to lift two bags of meat. As for the rest, they would have to be left in the snow.
Herren adjusted his carrying posture and faintly heard a roar coming from behind him.
He turned around and his face turned pale instantly.
The azure storm, mixed with wind and snow, seemed to have solidified into a tangible form. It looked quite far away, but its oppressive aura felt as if it had already reached you.
"Holy crap!"
This was the first time Harren had come so close to death. He was terrified and immediately took off running, his light boots sprinting across the muddy snow. He even managed to catch up with Sejuani and Ashe, who had gone ahead of him.
He had little confidence until his divine power was replenished.
"Don't just stand there! Get on the boat!"
Sejuani was the first to jump onto the boat, put down the meat, and hurriedly began to hoist the sails.
Ashe and Herren boarded the ship one after the other, almost at the same time. Just as the ship raised its sails, the overwhelming thunderstorm was already upon them.
However, it was precisely because of this storm that the small boat, which had already set sail, was pushed directly away from the shore and sped into the depths of the river at an extremely fast speed.
"Won't He follow?"
Heron stared in shock at the menacing thunderstorm, still vaguely making out some monstrous figures.
Sejuani, however, had calmed down by now. She breathed a sigh of relief and began to pack up the pieces of meat she had brought, saying casually.
"Thank the gods, they've prevented these monsters from wading through the water..."
Sure enough, the thunderstorm stopped completely at the shore, watched the small boat sail away, and made no further moves.
