Chapter 74

The Journey to Demacia

"Demacia? Why are you going there?"

After returning from Sejuani's place, Harren specifically sought out Udyr, who arrived with Alara.

She brought samples of the new combustion compound.

Herren improved the combustion compound, dividing it into external supply and internal supply versions.

The items were mainly for the tribe's daily needs, and occasionally given to other tribes as gifts to enhance friendship.

This combination of ingredients increases the effects of "medicinal wine," while the function of "wine" is greatly reduced, making it almost tasteless and focusing on practicality.

The advantage is that it doesn't consume much alcohol, the raw materials are plentiful, and the output is high. Initially, only warriors could carry it with them, but by the time it reached the tribe, almost everyone could get one, making it a necessity of life.

It even acquired elegant names such as "Heron's Blessing" and "Winter's Elixir," which shows how much people loved this life-saving remedy.

On the other hand, the situation was quite the opposite for the external supply. Noxus did not have such a harsh environment as Freljord. At the banquet, many Noxians commented that it tasted good, but after drinking it, they felt warm and languid, not very satisfying.

So Herren made some improvements, trying to increase the flavor of the base liquor as much as possible.

But this stumped Aurora. Increasing her magical power was easy enough, but mixing drinks? She had no idea!

So every now and then I have to ask Herren for help.

"I'm sorry to trouble you, Aurora. How about we name the new potion... Aurora? It's quite an elegant name for a bottle of fine wine."

"No... I don't want to hear anyone say they want to try 'Aura'."

Aura shook her head in disgust, rejecting Herren's offer.

After Herren gave her some pointers, she busied herself with her work. She was quite diligent and seemed to really enjoy this kind of work that helped others.

Helen then ignored him and began to discuss things with Udyr.

He repeated to Udyr exactly what he had said to Sejuani, but Udyr was much more knowledgeable than Sejuani. He understood the Noxians better and knew that Harren's concerns were justified.

However, doubts remain.

Because he once went to Ionia to train...

"Aren't you worrying too much? Putting aside whether Noxus will go to war with Ionia... do you think Ionia will be utterly defeated? That's impossible. I've seen the people there. It's a place teeming with powerful individuals. When I went there, I was like an apprentice..."

"Well... I don't really know how to put it. Just trust my judgment. Contacting Demacia won't hurt. It's an extra layer of insurance, so we can do business peacefully. That would be ideal."

"Okay...you're right, Demacia is to the south, but it's probably farther than you think."

Udir's observations as a traveler once again proved useful.

"If I remember correctly, if you don't ask for directions and keep heading south, you'll have to cross several mountain ranges... I've heard there are roads that lead to Demacia, but they're scattered among the mountains. You'll need to ask someone who knows the terrain for directions. Do you need me to come with you?"

"No, Sejuani needs you here, so I don't need you."

As long as the blueprints are left, whether Heron himself is in the tribe or not will not affect the normal operation of equipment production and forging.

The Hearthstone community of the tribe is gradually growing, and old Ian has even become an experienced veteran.

The halberd he forged according to the blueprints was so well preserved that Herren hardly needed to make any changes to it.

Sejuani has already begun assigning people to mine the veins, and everything is proceeding smoothly.

"So you're going by yourself? Without anyone else?"

"I don't like to trouble others, and this is just my own idea right now... Are you worried something might happen to me?"

"I'm not afraid, haha. When I was out there adventuring on my own, you probably weren't even born yet... But Sejuani will worry about you."

"Let her worry if she wants to. It's not like she's dependent on us or someone who's worried about her..."

Helen paused for a moment, then said with a smile.

"It makes me quite smug."

"Haha... Don't let Sejuani hear this, she'll make a move."

"This is wonderful, it feels like I've become young again..."

……

……

Sejuani may have originally thought that Udyr would help her dissuade Harren, but she underestimated Udyr's risk perception, or rather, Udyr, who had always been a loner, did not think that Harren's ability to go to Demacia was anything dangerous.

So by the time Sejuani received the reply, Harren had already devised a plan of advance based on Udyr's skills.

Although Sejuani was somewhat unwilling, she had no choice but to accept it.

Herren likes to act on his decisions. Once he makes a decision on the same day, after eating and drinking his fill and getting enough sleep, he's already ready to set off the next day.

Sejuani had prepared ample provisions for him... She had specifically asked Udyr to prepare plenty of dry rations and dried meat, as well as some strong liquor and flammable mixture.

This carefree woman was even more prepared than Herren, who was about to travel, making Herren, who only brought his beloved hammer and anvil, feel somewhat ashamed.

Of course, Sejuani didn't give Heron a friendly look when they parted.

One reason was that she didn't want Harren to go out, but the main reason was that Sejuani had asked Udyr Harren about his route.

If nothing unexpected happens, Heron will first pass through a group of tribes that have already established friendly relations with the Winter's Claw, and then head south... until he reaches the location where the Avarosa tribe is found.

This made her quite unhappy.

Harren knew this too, but he still naively thought that Sejuani harbored resentment towards Ashe because of her "betrayal." Seeing Sejuani's displeasure but reluctance to express it, he couldn't help but want to tease her.

"When you get to Ashe, do you need me to pass on a few words to you?"

"Oh……"

Sejuani's face grew increasingly grim, and she roughly threw the package at Heron.

"Get out of here! And... come back right away!"

"Oh...you really don't need to pass on a message?"

"Heh... If you really want to pass on a message, then tell Ashe to guard her little corner of the world and not to mess with me, otherwise, I won't care about our past relationship."

"Wow, that's quite a bold statement."

Heron laughed heartily, while Sejuani remained somewhat silent.

Sejuani only spoke softly after Herren stopped laughing.

"You know I'm very worried, right?"

"Uh, I know, but don't worry, I won't be in any danger."

"I mean... should we make a vow before we leave?"

"Swear an oath? What?"

Harren was stunned. Looking at Sejuani's somewhat hesitant gaze, he seemed to truly understand what Sejuani was worried about.

However, seeing Heron's large and small bags of luggage, Sejuani finally felt that it was a bit rushed and simply changed her mind.

"It's nothing, it's just that you must come back immediately."

"Oh……"

For no apparent reason, Herren also breathed a sigh of relief and reached out his hand.

"Don't worry, I'll be right back."
