Chapter 40

The Middarda Family

Fortunately, Sejuani wasn't a picky girl after all; the hair color issue was just a joke.

She beckoned, and the huge, greyish-white-furred Juvask wild boar obediently came over and affectionately nudged Sejuani's palm with its snout.

"Thanks to this big guy... he helped me a lot."

Herren had noticed the large wild boar long ago, and had even unconsciously blurted out its name.

"Steel bristles..."

"Steel bristles? That's a good name... Look, its bristles are as hard as steel. Even without a saddle, my butt hurts when I sit on it."

Harren also reached out and touched Steelmane's fur, but Steelmane clearly didn't treat him as affectionately as he treated Sejuani, and exhaled a hot breath in dissatisfaction.

However, Herren still managed to touch its mane... and it was indeed as sharp as steel needles.

"Good heavens, you actually rode that out? Is your ass made of iron?"

"...That doesn't sound like a compliment."

At this moment, Udir also came over.

He glanced at Steelmane first, then spoke to Sejuani.

"It likes you very much, Sejuani."

"Yes, I can feel it... It's called Steelmane, a new name Herren came up with, and I think it's pretty good."

"I didn't come up with it, it was originally... never mind."

Udyr nodded again. He looked at Sejuani's snow-white hair, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes, but he didn't say anything.

He was pleased that Sejuani had made amazing progress, but he had seen plenty of people with the Frostblood lineage and wasn't as shocked as others, and he wasn't very good at expressing subtle emotions.

As for Herren, he simply didn't take it seriously.

Sejuani was somewhat speechless. The two people she valued most in the tribe were the least likely to provide emotional support... She was actually looking forward to her triumphant return to the tribe.

"I've taken stock of the supplies. There's plenty of food, but the Noxians have processed it unnecessarily, so it probably won't keep for long... But it's still good news, this trip was worthwhile."

"Just awakening the Frost Bloodline alone has made this trip worthwhile for me."

Sejuani chuckled. Even if her raid failed this time, as long as she returned with this head of white hair, she would no longer worry about anyone questioning her authority.

She is the only one in the tribe to awaken the Frost Bloodline, a blessing from the gods.

"By the way, Herren, I remember seeing some trinkets here that I've never seen before. I think you might like them... Let's go down and get ready. You can wander around the boat some more. You'd better hurry up, or we'll have to come and get you if the boat sinks."

Sejuani stamped her foot on the deck. The giant ship was already listing slightly, but to say that it was about to sink was obviously an exaggeration.

Heron nodded, then extended his hand to Sejuani.

Sejuani was taken aback when she saw this, and almost instinctively, she reached out and shook hands with him.

However, Herren slapped her boar's hand away.

"Don't play dumb, where's my entropy power?"

"Oh……"

Sejuani's face darkened, and she reluctantly returned the Entropy Power she had just unleashed from behind her back.

After awakening her Frostblood, Sejuani has become quite fond of the power of entropy... even the Bloodthirsty Flail doesn't taste as good anymore.

Not only because the quality of the power of entropy is far superior to that of the Bloodthirsty Flail, but also because the pure ice energy of the power of entropy resonates with the ice bloodline energy within Sejuani's body.

"What? Still a little reluctant to part with it?"

"No, and I don't particularly want it..."

Seeing Sejuani's stubborn expression—clearly wanting it but saying one thing and meaning another, only able to sulk with a bitter face—Herren couldn't help but laugh.

"Don't worry, I'll have your flail remade when we get back, how about that?"

"really?"

Upon hearing this, Sejuani's mood immediately improved, and she readily handed the Entropy Power to Harren.

"Alright, hurry up and take everything you can. We'll wait for you downstairs... Don't take too much. We can only take a limited amount of supplies, and we can't leave behind even a tiny bit of food."

"Don't worry, I know what's important."

……

……

After Sejuani led the group to pack their belongings, Harren also went to the ship's warehouse to check if there was anything he could take with him.

There were still many ores and materials in the warehouse, but after taking stock, Herren confirmed that the ship was being transported from Freljord to other places.

The materials here are common minerals in Freljord, such as cold iron and red crystal. Although they are not particularly precious, there is really no need to go to the trouble of transporting them back.

However, one box of things caught Herren's attention.

The box was beautifully decorated, and upon opening it, one could see that it was lined with feathers as a cushioning layer to protect the contents from damage.

Of course, the things inside aren't anything precious; the reason they need protection is because they are quite "precise."

Herren picked up a music box, fiddled with it briefly, and then looked through the other things.

They're all just whimsical little toys... not the kind of things Noxus would produce.

It looks like a small invention from Piltover that the Noxians took back to their homeland to sell... but judging from the quantity, it seems more like a souvenir.

Sejuani and Udyr would treat these things as junk, but Harren wouldn't. He knew these things were highly technologically advanced, and the most valuable parts were their components.

But these were just toys after all, so Harren didn't intend to take them all back for research. He only packed up a few of the most sophisticated-looking ones, and kept the gears, screws, and other parts that Freljord couldn't possibly manufacture as spares.

After doing all this, Herren walked out of the warehouse and, following the crumbling ruins of the second floor, came to a room that resembled a captain's cabin.

Harren didn't recall seeing anyone resembling the captain during the raid... Perhaps he sensed something was wrong and ran away, or perhaps Sejuani casually froze him into an ice sculpture and smashed him into ice shards.

The captain's cabin was nicely decorated, but not luxuriously; it was simply well-organized, which matched Herren's general impression of Noxians.

Besides a soft bed, there was only a table with a huge nautical chart on it.

As Harren approached, he saw that it was not just a nautical chart, but also contained a large part of the terrain in northern Freljord, which had been meticulously explored and marked.

This is good stuff... Udyr, that idiot.

Herren glanced at the map twice before rolling it up and intending to take it with him.

As the map was rolled up, a piece of parchment with black ink on it fell to the ground from the gap.

Herren crouched down, picked up the paper, and saw that it was an official Noxus notice granting the right to open trade routes.

The space for the recipient was not filled with an individual's name, but rather with that familiar four-pointed star, accompanied by the suffix of the family name.

The Middarda family.
