Chapter 51

: Robin and the New House Design

Despite the turbulent outside world, Stardew Valley remains peaceful and serene.

Two new children have joined the farm: a baby gilas that eats and then sleeps, and an aluminum steel dragon that wakes up and then eats.

After the Super Dimensional Operation ended, Xia Ming became busy again. He not only had to check the growth of the crops every day, but also had to start studying the paper on aluminum steel dragons and formulating a cultivation plan.

Fortunately, there was a precedent for developing a breeding plan for young Gilas, which made it easy for him to do this. However, given his pace of taking three days to read a paper and seven days to interpret it, it would probably take two or three months before he could start drafting the plan for cultivating aluminum steel dragons.

As for when the Aluminum Steel Dragon will evolve into the Aluminum Steel Bridge Dragon?

The first paper Xia Ming read started by saying that it's best not to rush into doing this. It's not a good thing for Pokémon to evolve too early, as excessive power can cause them to develop a rebellious mentality when they are still babies.

Just like a giant baby, Xia Ming would only consider spending a lot of money to buy a piece of composite metal to start his wheelchair if he could ensure that the Aluminum Steel Dragon obeyed him both before and after its evolution.

All of this cannot be rushed. Xia Ming knows very well what he should be doing now. He is a farmer and a startup operator. Time has always been on his side.

After resting for a couple of days, he took Sophia to visit Robin's house.

………………

Arriving at the foot of the hill above Stardew Valley, where Robin's family house is located, Xia Ming and Sophia encountered Maru, dressed in a nurse's uniform, as she was heading to the town's hospital to help with a free clinic.

"Good morning, Maru. Dr. Harvey, do you have time this morning? I might take Sophia to visit him later."

"certainly."

Maru first glanced at Sophia beside Xia Ming, then nodded in response.

She thought Sophia was cured, since she hadn't come to pick up her medicine for over a week. Judging from the current situation, it was probably because of Xia Ming that she was showing signs of improvement.

Knowing that Xia Ming was most likely visiting his mother, Maru didn't linger. After briefly greeting Sophia, he turned and headed towards the town without looking back.

Watching Maru leave, Xia Ming took Sophia's hand and gently pressed the doorbell in front of the wooden house.

"Oh! My dear Xia, Lewis told me after I got back that you were planning to settle down in this small town. Don't worry, I know what you're looking for, and I've got everything ready for you!"

The townspeople remained warm and welcoming, which was related to Xia Ming's familiarity with them since childhood.

Robin's bright orange hair immediately caught their attention. She had a pleasing, rustic face with a few freckles, and looked exceptionally capable and energetic.

Behind her was an adorable giant blacksmith, who wasn't holding its signature hammer, but instead waving at Xia Ming with a few building blocks.

"Thank you for your concern, Aunt Robin, and also to the Great Blacksmith."

"Ka ka ka~ ka!"

Xia, do you want a figurine?

As the master blacksmith spoke, he pulled out a large hammer made entirely of building blocks from the side, one of his masterpieces from this period.

To show his affection for Xia Ming, he didn't hesitate to take it out as a gift to give him when they said goodbye.

"Really? The Great Blacksmith? I'll definitely cherish it."

Xia Ming did not disappoint the master blacksmith. After responding warmly, he squatted down and solemnly took the hammer made of building blocks, then hung it on the buckle at his waist.

"Come in and sit down, Xia, and Sophia too. You know, the Greatsmith has missed you ever since you left Stardew Valley. He always says that only you can understand his art."

Robin's master blacksmith retained the habits he had when he was still a skilled blacksmith, switching from assembling hammers to assembling building blocks. As she spoke, she picked up the teacup used for entertaining guests and began to pour tea:

"He's just like Sebastian, always giving me a bit of a headache, but you always manage to appease them. Do you have some special tricks?"

"Um... I'm sorry, Aunt Robin. I'm just thinking about how to spend time with them. Building blocks with friends is fun, and so are games."

Having said that, Xia Ming didn't want to continue the topic. He knew that Robin was troubled by Sebastian, not the Greatsmith, so he quickly changed the subject to the purpose of his visit:

"By the way, Aunt Robin, you just said you've prepared a selection for me? May I take a look? Both Grandpa and Mayor Lewis say your cooking is the best!"

The Robin family has been carpenters for generations, and many houses and furniture in the town were designed by the Robin family or by Robin himself.

However, she sometimes makes some bold ideas, and she always applies these ideas to the residents of the town, using discounts to attract them to help her experiment.

Judging from Robin's tone, Xia Ming felt that he had probably become a test subject as well, but he didn't know if Robin's design would make him willingly pay money.

Upon hearing Xia Ming's words, Robin didn't linger. He filled the teacups and handed them to the two of them before going to get his design drawings, saying as he searched:

"I have all the furniture I need, it just depends on what kind of wood you're looking for. I'd like to recommend the villa plans I recently designed. I got the inspiration from a trip to an island called Romantic Valley last year, you definitely have to try this!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she pulled out a thick stack of blueprints from the front desk in the living room.

She spread the drawings out on the coffee table and began enthusiastically promoting them to her new client:

"Xia, your grandfather's farmhouse is an old relic. Although it can still be lived in for a long time, I think it's not enough for you to make a fuss about as your new home. Young people should have a fresh look, shouldn't they?"

And you should also think about your future. I don't think you want your lovely Sofia to live with you in a cramped, old house in the future, do you?"

"Ahem... Aunt Robin, could you please not be like Mayor Lewis..."

Xia Ming blushed, and Sophia beside him also lowered her head shyly.

Isn't this just implying that they'll be getting married soon? Even if it's highly likely to be a done deal, it's still too blatant.

However, Xia Ming was indeed somewhat tempted by what he heard; his grandfather's house was indeed not quite suitable for him at the moment.

It's too old; it doesn't seem like a place a young person like me should live.

"But you're right, so shall we elaborate?"

"That's right!"

Robin's lips curled up; it seemed she had it all sorted out. Young people were indeed decisive. She then pulled out a concept drawing from the blueprints, depicting a panoramic view of the outside, and placed it in front of Xia Ming:

"Look, it's a three-story villa with a front yard, a tower, and the option to add a backyard. It also features the latest trendy external staircase design and includes a pond. Of course, if you want, I can also turn it into an artificial hot spring."

This well-designed front yard can accommodate a separate swing playground, and with two picnic tables, even large Pokémon won't feel crowded while resting. What do you think?
