Chapter 66
: Pokémon Arrival and Preparations for Selling
The dinner was short, but everyone enjoyed it very much.
Sofia's cooking skills are excellent. Her targeted berry flavorings allow every Pokémon to feel the care put into the dish and genuinely enjoy its deliciousness.
The nanny bugs, who were initially a little apprehensive about their new home, were completely at ease. Even though Xia Ming was still a novice, with Sophia's help, they were able to take good care of the bug babies and their cocoons.
The girls in skirts and the lily root dolls were even more relaxed. They were even more familiar with the farm than Xia Ming, and could still recognize the location of their old flowerbeds.
It can be said that as long as Xia Ming knows a little about how to arrange their work, they can do it very well. The construction of the farm is not difficult for them, so they naturally have no confusion about the future.
After dinner, Xia Ming told Sophia to rest first, and he would arrange the rest of the business himself.
Compared to him, Sofia undoubtedly had a very tough day.
"Once the farmhouse is completed, I will build flower beds for Miss Skirt and you, as well as a grove for Nanny Bug. Please stay here for the time being."
Xia Ming not only sent Sophia to rest, but also sent Duraludon and Larvitar to sleep. He then led the two Pokémon out of the vineyard under the moonlight.
He didn't just sit idly by before going to invite them.
He first checked the handbook Pierre gave him to find out what kind of living space the nannies preferred, and then asked Lewis about how Miss Skirt and the others lived when they were still alive.
Thus, he and Sophia set up two temporary residences outside the blackberry vineyard during their spare time.
First, there's the nanny bug family.
"These little rattan houses are available for you to choose from, and I have prepared a silken hammock for the babysitters in the middle of each rattan house."
In a small grove of trees, there are a few sparse little houses built on the branches of the trees. They look a bit like dog kennels and can be used by the insect babies and their cocoons.
The supplies were lined with soft leaves and also contained two tree fruits for a midnight snack.
At the center of each circle with a radius of five meters, there is a hammock connecting two large tree branches. The babysitters can connect the surrounding treehouses with silk threads, so that they can check on the baby insects and their cocoons while they rest.
"Hoo-hoo~"
Thank you, the children are very satisfied.
"Hoo-hoo~"
That's wonderful, honey! You put so much thought into it.
It's clear that both the nanny bug and the bug treasure bag and treasure bag cocoon are very satisfied with Xia Ming's arrangements.
While it may not be the most comfortable living environment, it's much better than our old home in the mountains.
After arranging the nanny family, it was time for the Miss Skirts and the Lily Root Dolls.
The Lily Root Dolls' home is in a more distant open space, in the center of which a hole filled with water has been dug out, surrounded by winding streams that connect at their ends to form a circle.
Some flowers and plants were transplanted onto the lawn within the enclosure.
Upon seeing this, the lily root dolls all stepped forward on their own, and after choosing a comfortable spot, they took root.
"Wow~"
That's good, the kid is great!
"Waaaaaah~"
It's passable, but the child is very dedicated, and I'm satisfied.
The lily root dolls were very satisfied with Xia Ming's residence. Although it was somewhat simple due to its handmade nature, it was still quite good.
The ladies' residences are nearby. Xia Ming specially had the Pangolin use "Tillage" on the surrounding area to soften the soil, and many beautiful flowers were also transplanted nearby.
The ladies in skirts didn't say anything good or bad; they simply came to Xia Ming's side in front of the flower bushes, reached out and gave him a comforting hug.
They knew that this was the best place Xia Ming could make to live in a short period of time.
The moon has risen completely.
It was already 8 p.m. when Xia Ming finished arranging for the two Pokémon to check in.
Back at Sophia's house, after taking a shower, he opened the door, only to find Sophia's peaceful sleeping face instead of her gentle, expectant gaze as she leaned against the bed.
"I just can't do anything with you."
Hehe~
………………
The next day.
After having breakfast and finishing some necessary daily tasks, it was already afternoon. After a simple breakfast, Xia Ming took his Pokémon to the town alone.
Well, because Larvitar is training, he only brought Duraludon with him.
His sole purpose in coming here was to inquire about the progress of Pierre's previous preparations.
About a week ago, when the cranberries were about to enter their fruiting period, Xia Ming began to think about how to sell them.
Because he didn't want to find a distributor, he had to find people to do many things himself.
For example, business licenses, packaging, transportation, and after-sales service, etc.
But these things are both difficult and easy to understand.
For example, Xia Ming could get the operating license simply by sending out the address of his own farm; Lewis had already helped him apply for it with the league.
It was approved almost three days ago.
As for the remaining packaging, shipping, and after-sales service, he consulted Pierre. Xia Ming originally wanted to buy two cultivation manuals as tuition fees, but Pierre refused, leaving only this sentence:
"If you want to run your own business, you need to learn to discern quality yourself. I can help you connect with a few companies that specialize in packaging and transportation. As for after-sales service... I think you need to have some confidence in your agricultural products."
Judging from Pierre's tone, after-sales service was a somewhat insulting term for Stardew Valley farmers like them.
It's as if no one would say anything bad about agricultural products that come from their region.
Xia Ming was at a loss for words because of this confidence, but he had never heard anyone say that anything his grandfather grew was even slightly bad.
When Xia Ming arrived at Pierre's Farm Shop, there were still a few customers buying things. Xia Ming also saw Abigail helping to tidy up the items on the shelves.
"You've arrived, Xia? Here's the address, phone number, and some information I've prepared for you. You'll have to learn to walk on your own sooner or later, and you'll have to handle all the choices and actions yourself."
Pierre greeted Xia Ming warmly upon seeing him, then handed him a thin notebook:
"I admire you. Since electronic products became popular, most people still use the old methods to sell things. I was undoubtedly surprised when I learned about your ideas from Lewis."
The World Agricultural Expo will be held around July 21st the year after next. I really hope you can make a name for yourself and get an invitation before then. Good luck, Xia!
The World Agricultural Exposition is the grandest agricultural exhibition in the entire Union and a stage that countless farmers dream of.
Holding that thin notebook, Xia Ming hadn't expected Pierre to have such high expectations of him.
This is not something that can be easily accomplished.
