Chapter 88
: The Alliance is in a Dilapidated State
Exhausted, Junsalan slowly made her way to the meeting room, much like a dejected Gengar.
When she pushed open the door, the room was already full of people.
Seated at the long conference table is Cattleya, one of the four Heavenly Kings of the contemporary United States Alliance.
This beautiful psychic young lady has an appearance similar to Nihilego Ido, with long golden hair that covers most of her body like a jellyfish, the longest strands even reaching her knees.
She wore a white dress underneath a pink, sheer cloak, and her sapphire-like eyes revealed an indifferent arrogance.
The elegant Miss Gothic stood quietly behind her, like a butler and maid waiting for their master's orders.
Unlike the usual Gothic Lady, this Gothic Lady's skirt is light green, like Gardevoir's dress but connected together. Her hair is also soft and hanging down, and her face is more anthropomorphic, like a real lady.
Standing on her other side was a bespectacled man in a suit named Shi Lan. Gadria was his employer, and he was responsible for screening challengers for Gadria while also handling some of the duties of a butler.
"What's going on this time?"
Officer Jenny strolled over to the seats of the Officer Jennys, surrounded by other Officer Jennys who, like her, exuded resentment.
It's clear they've been exhausted by the three meetings a day lately.
This is why Officer Jenny hates events involving mythical creatures so much, because it means that her family, Officer Jenny, cannot act on its own initiative or gain control over the event.
If this matter did not involve legendary Pokémon, the Officer Jenny family could use its power to force these officials, rangers, and researchers from the League to take responsibility and resolve the issue.
Those who should be punished will be punished, and those who should pay money will pay money. In short, it's a matter of just a few words to resolve the issue.
Anyone disagree? Well, then shut up! If you're not going to do it, plenty of others will!
However, once divine beasts and mythical beasts are involved, it becomes an event that affects the entire alliance. In order to ensure the interests of the alliance and to follow the ancient covenant, unless it involves the Officer Jenny clan, the Officer Jenny clan will only have the obligation to cooperate and the right to make suggestions.
The only people who can truly make the final decision are the league.
This gave some alliance officials a kind of...emmm, mysterious confidence? Or perhaps they wanted to use their power to do something a little capricious.
In short, the greater the power, the more troubles arise.
"This time it was an urgent complaint from the rangers. They believe that the League officials overstepped their bounds by allowing researchers to touch legendary Pokémon, and they are trying to use this incident to get a meeting with the Rock Regiment through those Pokémon."
"That's right. I don't know what's wrong with those researchers' brains. Aren't they afraid of being killed by the Pokémon that realize what's happening as they walk by?"
"What do you think, Sister Lan, that these alliance officials have colluded with some researchers?"
"I?"
Jun Shalan was both amused and annoyed.
The past few days have been fine, mostly due to disagreements over the resources to be provided, such as why I should have to spend more money to appease the Pokémon.
The more pointed ones were the fools who thought those Pokémon couldn't cause any trouble, but they were quickly turned into rag dolls and thrown out by Gadria.
Although this pillar of strength invited by the alliance was only used as a last resort, she still had the right to make decisions. This idea, which was obviously infuriating, would naturally make her angry. And the consequences of a superpowered person getting angry are self-evident.
And now...
They actually dared to set their sights on legendary Pokémon!
"I'll just sit and watch. Anyway, my agreement with those Pokémon only has a two-week deadline. If I can't come up with a satisfactory answer within two weeks, then they will start gathering Pokémon in the mountains and awakening the Pillar of Rock."
Jun Shalan has completely given up. She's realized that the Alliance has become increasingly arrogant since aligning itself with the Hyperdimension Devon Corporation.
"When Pokémon attack human cities, and the Rock Pillar flattens the cities and restores the land to its original state, no matter how much they argue, they'll all have to line up and be shot."
"Who will clean up the mess then?"
"have no idea."
"Couldn't the League send one of those Pokémon professors? They surely know that the most important thing right now is to prevent the Rock Regiment from waking up, instead of doing what these guys are doing..."
"Those who don't understand the power of God will always think that they're nothing special... Sigh... What about the family?"
Jun Shalan looked a little dejected.
When the Rock Pillar King truly arrives, wherever he goes, the cities will be restored to their original natural state.
"Sister Qing, you tell us."
A Miss Jenny turned her gaze toward Jenny Qing, the deputy director of the General Administration.
Officer Jenny also revealed information about her communication with her family:
"The family plans to evacuate the residents and Pokémon from the city closest to Stardew Valley ahead of schedule. We went to Heart Island, where Latios and Latias do not intend to interfere."
In other words, if we don't come up with this plan quickly, we have absolutely no ability to stop the Stone Pillar King from leveling a portion of the cities in the Fukiyori region.
"Where's the champion?"
"Dragon Village won't interfere in this kind of thing, have you forgotten? Many Heavenly Kings also have no intention of paying attention to this matter; they've been dissatisfied with the current alliance for a long time."
Jun Shaqing's tone was also filled with helplessness. She had done her best, putting pressure on the alliance through her family while trying to interfere in the matter from another direction.
But there was nothing they could do. Many people who were capable of helping were unwilling to do so, or simply couldn't intervene because of their promises to the Pokémon.
They discussed it in hushed tones.
Soon, with the last alliance official taking his seat, the meeting began.
A clear, cold voice resounded from everyone's hearts:
"Please be quiet."
Although she said "please," Miss Goth, who was standing next to Cattleya, used her superpower of mind to force everyone to close their eyes and sit up straight.
But no one felt dissatisfied with this domineering style of doing things.
After all, the last dissatisfied guy, along with his Pokémon, was turned into a doll and thrown out by Gadria, and is now lying in the trash can with no one daring to take it out.
"If you have something to say, say it; otherwise, the meeting is adjourned."
Cattleya spoke softly, then looked directly at the head rangers who had come from all over the Fuki region.
Among them was Ma Long, whom Xia Ming knew.
He stood up, still with an adorable Eevee perched on his shoulder, and spoke first as the representative of the rangers:
"I want to accuse Chairman Dre of overstepping his bounds. The Pokémon's anger has not yet been appeased, yet he intends to exploit their patience to achieve his own goals, and has joined forces with these researchers to disrespect the Rock Pillar!"
I find it hard not to suspect he might be a spy sent by Team True. After all, only eight years have passed since the events involving the Steel Pillar and the Ice Pillar, right? Has the League already forgotten the pain so quickly?!
