Chapter 36

Leaving Ohara

Chapter 36 Leaving Ohara

The first floor of the Omniscient Tree is the visitor hall.

It's very spacious and quiet here.

There weren't many people inside; some were scholars who had come down to rest, and others were tourists who came in out of curiosity.

There is usually no interaction between the two; they sit quietly in chairs next to the table, either reading or taking a nap with their eyes closed.

The lobby on the first floor has a very high ceiling and occupies a very large area.

Bookshelves were everywhere, piled high with countless books, though they were probably all photocopies.

Seeing so many books, Suzuki had no intention of wasting any more time there, so he tried asking Robin:

"Little Robin, are there many photocopies of the books here?"

"Can you sell it?"

Upon hearing Suzuki's words, Robin's little face showed some hesitation.

She didn't know which items were for sale, so she looked up at Suzuki earnestly and said:

"Brother Suzuki, I didn't know."

"I'll go ask Dr. Clover for you, he'll definitely know!"

Suzuki nodded and smiled gently at little Robin:

"This is troublesome, little Robin."

Robin waved her little hand, smiled cutely at Suzuki, and then ran towards the second floor of the library.

Suzuki casually found a seat and sat down, waiting quietly.

He planned to store the books in the Swallow Fruit after buying them, so he could take them out and read them when he was sailing alone at sea.

Moreover, although Ohara is best known for its archaeologists, it also has a considerable number of scholars in other fields.

Even Vegapunk has a good relationship and communication with Dr. Clover here.

There should be quite a few useful and interesting books here.

A short while later, Suzuki saw Robin and an elderly scholar coming down the stairs.

Suzuki stood up, and after Robin and the elderly scholar approached, he extended his hand to the scholar with a gentle smile:

"Hello, you must be Dr. Clover."

"My name is Suzuki, it's an honor to meet you!"

Professor Clover had obviously interacted with Robin before, so he knew that Suzuki was a tourist brought by Robin, and he shook hands with Suzuki in a very friendly manner.

"Haha, hello Suzuki, Robin said you want to buy books?"

Dr. Clover speaks very directly and gets straight to the point.

Suzuki thought it was normal; this doctor had been arrested and imprisoned by the World Government 10 times for his archaeological work, but he never gave up.

He is over 80 years old this year, but still has a strong passion for archaeology.

Like the historical text, Dr. Clover should actually be considered the real expert.

He practically deciphered the text of all the historical records from scratch, which shows how difficult it was.

The ancient scripts that Robin later learned were basically all taught by this Dr. Clover.

Suzuki also held such scholars in high esteem.

"Yes, I wonder which books here are for sale?"

"If possible, I'd like to buy as many as I can."

Suzuki looked at Dr. Clover with a serious expression and asked about purchasing the books.

Dr. Clover was very straightforward and didn't ask why I bought so many books.

There are so many books in the library, and many of them are for sale.

There are many printing plants in Ohara, and many people come here to buy books every year. Suzuki just buys more than others.

He immediately and frankly told Suzuki:

"Ha ha ha ha."

"Suzuki, this library is for people to observe and learn from!"

"Although there are many books, there are also quite a few reprints."

"If you want them, I'll give you all the copies and other ones later!"

At that moment, Suzuki felt that coming to Ohara was definitely the right decision.

Dr. Clover is so generous!

Although he could collect them slowly in Ohara, that's not as convenient as having professionals pack them up directly.

So he nodded to the doctor and answered firmly and seriously:

"I want them all!"

"Thank you, Doctor."

"And thank you, little Robin~"

Dr. Clover laughed heartily, waved his hand, and then turned to find the library's sales staff and warehouse manager.

Little Robin stood to the side, and upon hearing Suzuki's words of gratitude, she smiled happily as well.

She felt good about being able to help Suzuki, but unlike Dr. Clover, she was still a little puzzled as to why Suzuki wanted to buy so many books.

Tilting her little head, her eyes filled with confusion, she asked:

"Suzuki-nii, why did you buy so many books?"

Suzuki looked at Robin gently. Although it was a bit fast, it was indeed almost time to say goodbye.

He was ready to leave Ohara after buying the books, and he was very grateful to Robin, otherwise he would have wasted a lot of time on the island.

So, he patted Robin's little head and said it directly:

"Of course, we'll see it on the road!"

"I'll leave after I buy the books."

Little Robin's eyes widened in surprise; he hadn't expected that his newfound friend would be leaving so soon.

She lowered her head, a hint of disappointment on her face.

She had originally thought Suzuki would stay on the island for a while.

However, she didn't cry or make a fuss to express her reluctance to part; little Robin was very well-behaved.

Seeing that Robin was silent, Suzuki did not choose to comfort her in a gentle voice.

Instead, he used the hand that was stroking her little head to vigorously rub her long, black hair.

Until the top of his head was rubbed until it looked like chicken feathers, little Robin gradually emerged from her dejected mood and began to show some subtle resistance.

Suzuki watched Robin tidying her hair with amusement, but didn't say anything more.

The two then waited together in the hall for Dr. Clover's return.

……

Suzuki had already obtained so many books, which had been sorted and placed in the warehouse. He devoured them all in a short time after entering the warehouse.

The time for true parting has come.

Suzuki waved goodbye to Professor Clover and Robin as they saw him off, and then prepared to embark on his journey once again.

Not long after he turned and walked away, just as he was about to reach the dock, he heard a faint sound of running behind him.

Then, that clear and melodious shout reached his ears again:

"Huff, huff."

"Wait, wait."

Suzuki turned around, and there was still that young girl with patches on her clothes.

He was a little confused; hadn't they already said goodbye?

And right now should be the time when she and Dr. Clover are having their afternoon class.

Just as Suzuki was wondering...

Not far away, little Robin ran back to Suzuki's side with her short legs.

Then she took out the candy that Bliss had given her from her pocket, grabbed Suzuki's hand, and stuffed it into her palm.

She tilted her little face up, blinked her clear, big eyes, and smiled adorably at Suzuki:

Hehe~

"Dr. Clover said that if you feel lonely while sailing at sea, you can eat some candy."

"Mmm, these are all delicious!"

"I'm going back to class now!"

Goodbye, Suzuki-nii-san!

After saying that, Little Robin blinked her big eyes and smiled cutely again, then turned and ran towards the Tree of All Knowledge.

Suzuki was somewhat taken aback, looking at the unopened bag of candy in his hand, and then at the small figure that was gradually leaving.

A ripple of emotion stirred within him, but a rare, genuine, and cheerful smile appeared on his face as he called out towards the distance:

"Thank you, little Robin!"

……

He then boarded a small wooden boat and continued his voyage to the summit of the Western Paradise.

Meanwhile, in the Naruto world.

Suzuki participated in a grand gathering.

Thank you to Dream Memories of a Thousand Years, Book Friend 20210301105262387124, and Tears of Stardust for the monthly tickets.
