Chapter 52
Arrival in the Land of Water
Chapter 52 Arrival in the Land of Water
The ocean is always both gentle and turbulent.
Even the ocean in the Naruto world is the same.
Suzuki looked at the ninja world ocean, which resembled the world of One Piece. Although it lacked the wonder and grandeur of the Grand Line, it still made him feel the same insignificance.
Two days have passed since the voyage began, and we are about to land on the land of the Water Kingdom.
Looking at the island that was about to approach, Suzuki narrowed his eyes, his mind racing with plans for what to do next.
Then, as the island gradually became clearer, he decisively spat out a tattered fishing net from his mouth and used his already highly skilled transformation technique.
"Bang!" A cloud of white mist appeared on the small wooden boat, Suzuki vanished into thin air, and an octopus appeared on the boat.
The small wooden boat swayed and drifted closer to the island, while the octopus clung tightly to the side of the boat near the bottom.
"Hey, where did that boat come from?"
"Go check on Izumi quickly!"
"Okay, Abe!"
Upon seeing the small wooden boat, two ninjas from Kirigakure in the Land of Water quickly waded across the water to reach it.
One of the ninjas, named Izumi, looked at the empty wooden boat with some confusion, then said to his companion, Abe:
"Abe, what's going on? Did some fisherman lose his fishing boat?"
The Hidden Mist Village ninja named Abe cautiously answered his companion's question:
"Izumi, don't let your guard down! Check the area first. Things haven't been peaceful in the village lately, so be careful!"
The ninja named Izumi nodded, and then, together with his companion Abe, slowly stepped onto the wooden boat.
The two Mist Ninja carefully examined the items on the ship and found only a tattered fishing net.
Izumi looked at his companion Abe with some relief: "It seems to be a boat lost by fishermen, but where did it drift from?"
Hearing his companion's question and answer, Abe nodded: "They're probably fishermen from nearby islands. The boat looks quite old; they've probably just thrown it away."
Izumi nodded in agreement, then said to Abe, "In that case, let's go back. We also need to patrol the nearby coastline."
Soon, the two Mist Ninjas walked away from the vicinity of the ship.
The small wooden boat drifted on the sea, and after a while it crashed into the edge of the island. An octopus crawled out from the bottom of the boat.
Then, the octopus slowly crawled onto the island and headed towards its hidden spot.
Behind a rock, Suzuki used his Observation Haki to sense his surroundings. Finding nothing unusual, he deactivated the Transformation Jutsu.
Looking at the island within the Land of Water, Suzuki pondered:
His purpose in coming to the Land of Water this time was nothing more than to acquire a large number of Water Release ninjutsu.
Although Tobirama Senju's ninjutsu is still in the Hokage Building in Konoha, he can't go there.
Moreover, it would be difficult to cause trouble secretly in Konoha Village. Considering the various surveillance methods that could be sensed by Observation Haki on the streets, Suzuki decided to play it safe with this military base located in the center of the ninja world.
At the same time, believing that rabbits shouldn't cause trouble near their burrows, they decisively came to the Land of Water.
When he returned before, he unusually chose to retain most of his strength in his main body, because he had planned it all along.
The choice of the land of water was also a well-considered one.
There's not much to say about the small ninja village; it's weak, but it doesn't have anything good to offer.
The few good items and ninjutsu that occasionally appear are treated like treasures by the entire village and guarded with utmost care.
Unless he intends to destroy the village, it's virtually impossible for him to obtain anything of value from those small ninja villages.
His current chakra natures are Water Release, Fire Release, and Earth Release, and with this arrangement, it's easy to make a decision.
Among the major powers, the ninjutsu of the Sand Village doesn't suit him. The ninjutsu of the Cloud Village and the Earth Village are better, but it's more difficult to infiltrate these two villages, and it would also be more difficult to leave.
While Kirigakure of the Land of Water did not participate much in World War II, it does not mean that they retained much of their strength. Their failure to participate in World War II was not because they did not want to, but because they did not have the time.
The Hidden Mist Village is now under the heavy pressure of the Blood Mist policy, and there are ninjas fleeing all over the country.
In the future, Obito even strengthened the Blood Mist policy, almost causing the destruction of Kirigakure.
And the Hidden Mist Village is not doing well either.
These ninjas used the unique island environment of the Land of Water to hide from the Hidden Mist Village's Anbu, and some even directly joined the Daimyo of the Land of Water.
The Hidden Mist Village also had a lot of trouble with these ninjas. The Mizukage didn't have enough men to send to track them down and capture them, and with fewer men, they couldn't defeat them.
Furthermore, it wouldn't be appropriate to directly call them defectors, since those ninjas who joined the daimyo were also legitimate ninjas belonging to the Land of Water.
Many of the others simply disobeyed the Mizukage's orders. Although they didn't live in the village, they were still considered members of Kirigakure.
Thus, the two sides reached a stalemate, and it would probably take another war to ease the tension.
Suzuki came to the Land of Water to find a few ninjas who weren't in Kirigakure.
Grabbing a few of these people wouldn't attract much attention. If they were to learn about his water-style ninjutsu, he would be quite proficient in it when leaving, especially since most of the country is made up of islands.
Silently, Suzuki used his transformation technique again, turning into a sea serpent, and began his infiltration of the island.
Every so often, he would activate his Observation Haki to survey his surroundings.
Although the transformation technique can even confuse monster-level ninjas during battle, it is still easy to detect when facing sensory ninjas.
However, the Hidden Mist Village doesn't have any powerful sensory ninjas yet, the Third Shinobi World War hasn't started, and Ao hasn't obtained the Byakugan.
Moreover, even though Kirigakure has many sensory ninjas, they mostly stay in the village to protect it. After all, sensory ninjas are relatively rare in the ninja world, except for Hyuga and Aburame, who are wealthy and powerful in Konoha.
Soon, Suzuki completed his survey of the island's basic environment and planned his departure route.
So he went back behind the hidden rock and deactivated the transformation.
After resting for a while and recovering his full chakra, Suzuki looked in the direction where the two Hidden Mist Village ninjas had left earlier, his eyes filled with coldness.
There weren't many ninjas on this island; it was just a tourist island.
Those two ninjas seemed to be sent by some faction in Kirigakure to guard this treasury. Their main job was to patrol the island, and then one of them would take the money back every now and then.
Without hesitation, Suzuki transformed into an octopus once more and quickly crawled towards the shore where the two ninjas were patrolling.
"Hey, Abe, there's an octopus here. Looks like we'll have an extra meal tonight."
Upon seeing the octopus, the Mist Ninja named Izumi smiled and said to his companions.
"Don't let your guard down, Izumi! I've told you so many times, we're ninjas, we have to be alert to anything unusual!"
After saying that, the Mist Ninja named Abe squinted at the octopus that Suzuki had transformed into, and suddenly his expression changed. He immediately pulled his companion Izumi and jumped backward!
Seeing this, Suzuki knew that he had been discovered by this ninja named Abe.
It seems that this Mist Ninja named Abe is quite strong, acts cautiously, and subtly holds a dominant position between the two.
But what's the problem with that?
Although he is currently in his transformed state, he cannot perform hand seals to use ninjutsu, nor can he flow chakra as smoothly as in his human form.
But watching the two figures disappear into the distance, Suzuki remained completely unmoved.
He instantly used the power of the Gluttony Fruit, and countless Wind-Blowing Shells from Skypiea appeared in the octopus's tentacles!
"Bang!" The ground suddenly shattered, and dust instantly erupted!
In an instant, the octopus monster's figure had already approached the two terrified Mist Ninja.
