Chapter 18
Bathing in Dragon Blood, Berserk Power
A few minutes later, Li Wei saw the Uber car he had called turn out from the street corner and slowly stop in front of him and Don Quixote.
The car window slowly rolled down two or three centimeters, and through the gap, Li Wei could see the black driver's somewhat wary eyes.
Most of his attention was focused on Don Quixote, who was in full armor, standing next to Livy.
"Hey, give me your name," the Black driver said. "And is your friend drunk?"
"Li Wei, this is the car I called," Li Wei said. "My friend... is an method actor, and he's preparing for a stage play."
The driver sized Li Wei and Don Quixote up and down, and seeing that they didn't appear to be carrying weapons, unlocked the back door.
"Hey, I'm not interested in your weird fetishes. Get in the car," he said. "Don't get in the passenger seat—no one's in the passenger seat at night."
Li Wei thanked him, quickly opened the back door, let Don Quixote get in, and got in from the other side.
As soon as he got into the car, Li Wei saw a yellow sign with black lettering inside, indicating that the car's audio and video recording system was on, presumably to protect the driver's safety.
As soon as he boarded the train, Don Quixote expressed his dissatisfaction:
"Attendant!" he shouted, "Why is the carriage so crowded!"
“A carriage that’s too big will attract attention,” Levi quickly explained. “Everyone rides in small carriages.”
Actually, he just couldn't bring himself to take the $180 Uber luxury car, so he opted for the cheapest economy option.
Don Quixote muttered, "After the witch is banished, I must get the Duke to reward me with a large carriage," and it took a lot of persuasion to calm him down.
After finally calming Don Quixote down, Li Wei explained to the driver, somewhat belatedly, "My friend is an method actor, please understand."
The Black driver didn't say a word and kept driving with his head down.
A few seconds later, a voice notification from a colleague suddenly popped up in his WhatsApp group:
"There was a sudden police chase in Brownsville, and one road there is now closed. We recommend taking an alternate route."
The driver switched to Uber's map, looked at it carefully, and said to Li Wei through the rearview mirror:
"There are police cars chasing you on the street next to where you're going," he said. "I suggest you don't go there at night unless it's something really serious."
"Sir Knight," Li Wei said, turning to Don Quixote immediately, "the coachman said there's danger nearby."
The driver glanced at Li Wei silently without saying a word.
"What's there to be afraid of!" Don Quixote was naturally unafraid. "A knight fears no danger!"
"Is it really dangerous?" Levi asked the driver. "What if we're really going to retrieve something very important?"
"Let's go then," the driver said after carefully looking at the map. "Actually, it's not that safe during the day. Even the police don't like coming to this shitty place."
He thought for a moment and then shrugged: "If you really have something urgent to do, it might be safer to go now, because people here are at least a little more cautious when they hear sirens."
Li Wei thought about it carefully and realized that it made sense. If a large number of police suddenly appeared and blocked the roads in places where the police don't usually come, the drug dealers and gangsters in the area would probably be terrified and wouldn't have time to hide.
Thinking this, the driver took a detour and dropped them off at the entrance of the construction site.
"Sir Knight," Li Wei said, looking at the sleepwalking Don Quixote, "it's time to set off to slay the dragon."
"Come with me, squire," said Don Quixote. "This knight can already smell the filthy stench of the earth dragon; it should be nearby!"
He led Li Wei through a secluded thicket with practiced ease. Judging from the cigarette butts scattered all over the ground, Don Quixote and his fellow workers must have often sneaked out through this path to smoke and slack off.
Once inside, the construction site at night exuded an indescribable sense of mystery and fear.
Apart from the sirens of police cars on the next street, the only sounds were the footsteps of Livy and Don Quixote, and the clanging of his armor.
"I knew it!" Don Quixote suddenly shouted, "Right here!"
Under the light, Li Wei turned his head and saw Don Quixote rushing towards—a parked excavator?!
Don Quixote rushed to the tracks and started punching and kicking the excavator. He even nearly fell to the ground while trying to pry the tracks off with his bare hands.
Thankfully, his full armor prevented him from getting hurt. He struck a few times, but the earth dragon didn't budge, so he turned and shouted loudly at Li Wei:
"Servant! Come quickly and join this knight in vanquishing the earth dragon!"
At this moment, the mission popped into Li Wei's eyes, and the reward made him feel that this adventure was really worth it!
You have received a quest: Slay the Dragon.
The earth dragon, dwelling deep in the forest, is the witch's evil henchman. Its immense power made it difficult for even the great knight Don Quixote to break through its defenses. Over the past 100 years, countless dragon slayers and knights have perished under its claws. Please be careful, its destructive power far exceeds your imagination.
[Task Reward: Strength, Agility, Constitution +0.1]
[Hidden Reward: Gain the skill [Berserk] after bathing in dragon blood]
Adds 0.3 attribute points at once! And a skill too!
Li Wei immediately abandoned all his burdens, gritted his teeth and shouted, "I'm here to help you!" before rushing forward.
He leaped onto the tracks in a few swift movements, noticed a construction site manual on the driver's seat, and an idea struck him. He turned back and shouted at Don Quixote:
"My lord knight, I see it," he said. "Is the map inside the earth dragon's mouth?"
Don Quixote was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Exactly!"
Li Wei nodded, opened the car door and got in, thus completing the great feat of slaying the dragon in an instant.
But how do you complete the task of bathing in dragon's blood?
He looked around and found a half-empty bottle of mineral water on the right side of the seat.
After unscrewing it, I carefully smelled it to confirm that it was just an ordinary bottle of mineral water. Then I poured a little into my hand and rubbed it together.
Jumping off the tracks, Livy said to Don Quixote, "Sir Knight, is this the map you were talking about?"
As he spoke, he handed over the construction manual in his hand.
Don Quixote closed his eyes and examined the map carefully for a while, then exclaimed with delight, "That's it! This is the map! And you did a fantastic job, squire! You know, slaying a dragon is a remarkable achievement!"
Li Wei glanced at the car door that had just been closed, but said nothing.
"Would you like to bathe in dragon's blood, Sir?" Li Wei asked, taking out a mineral water bottle. "Dragon's blood is said to strengthen the body."
Don Quixote readily agreed, but he reverently allowed Livy to pour mineral water over his head.
As he poured water over his head, Li Wei continued to hear the notification sound in his mind:
[Mission: Dragon Slayer Completed]

Unlike the slow improvement of the past, a tremendous force suddenly poured into Li Wei's body.
