Chapter 660

The Incredible Alliance

Chapter 660 The Incredible Alliance

Matt Murdoch arrived at Rikers Island prison, and he was very surprised that he had been invited there, especially by Kingpin.

This is a bit strange, since Kingpin knew his identity, but he still did it, which means that Kingpin was not looking for the blind lawyer Matt Murdock, but Daredevil.

"I request a meeting with my client, thank you."

After explaining the situation to the prison guards, Matt was taken to the meeting room. Whether it was intentional or not, he found Kingpin sitting in the meeting room cutting a steak.

"Ah, you've finally come, you demon. I was wondering how long I would have to wait for you to arrive."

As Kingpin spoke, he stuffed meat into his mouth with his fork. After Matt sat down, he said coldly, "Is this your prison life, Fisk? It looks pretty good."

"Rikers Island has never been the most comfortable prison, you devil."

“I heard that things are going quite well at the mansion.”

Upon hearing this, Kingpin laughed: "I am different from them, demons. Neither Hammerhead nor Tombstone are simply human. They have gained many benefits by virtue of their superhuman status, and now it is only time for them to pay the price."

Kingpin, after all, is just a simple, ordinary human being, and is not suitable for entering a mansion prison, a kind of prison specifically designed for criminals with superpowers.

Moreover, this time when he approached Matt, it wasn't to discuss which prison he should go to.

"The Hand, I know you and your friends are investigating it. Coincidentally, I do know a little about them, which might be helpful to you."

Matt frowned upon hearing this, unaware that Fisk had some connection to the Hand.

However, Matt intends to refuse.

"No matter what you say, Fisk, your plans are doomed to fail. I will not cooperate with you."

Upon hearing this, Kim didn't utter any harsh words. Instead, he patiently finished his steak, had it taken away, and continued talking to Matt.

"Really? You devil, just for that little bit of justice, you're going to let the Hand take its next step? Maybe someone is already dead at their hands. Maybe if you had known the Hand's whereabouts and characteristics sooner, you could have saved them. Or maybe..."

Jin didn't finish speaking; he just smiled and then casually gave out his first piece of intelligence.

"When the Hand first entered New York, they used the identities of many companies associated with Hydra, such as Viper Security and AIM. Although they have now distanced themselves completely, it doesn't mean they left no clues at all, you devil."

Although AIM has already been destroyed, and Viper Security was discovered to be a Hydra affiliate during the crackdown on Hydra in Budapest and was subsequently expelled, their real estate and other assets cannot be taken away in a short period of time.

What should I do?

Of course, it was sold off quickly, from one hand to the other, and these items ended up in the Hand's hands at extremely low prices. From Kingpin's words, Matt drew some general conclusions: First, the Hand most likely no longer uses these facilities; they have infiltrated deeper and deeper into society, and everyone else is just a hidden agent within them.

By this time, the original information would become dangerous, so these facilities had been abandoned.

Matt fell silent as he pondered the second reason: Kingpin's words didn't mean Matt would come up empty-handed. In other words, Kingpin was quite certain Matt could find clues near the neighborhoods and buildings where the Hand no longer existed. And Kingpin's certainty likely stemmed from his possession of relevant evidence.

"Perhaps that is true, but that's not something I'm planning to consider."

As Matt spoke, he made a show of saying goodbye to Kingpin. He planned to personally verify whether what Kingpin said was true, and if so, whether he could get rid of the guy and investigate on his own.

Oh, right, we also need to call some other people. Ideally, we should call the entire Defenders League to help.

Kingpin, however, simply smiled, clearly waiting for Matt to return.
-
A few days later, the same scene, the same people.

"It seems you've reached your conclusion, Demon. You should know what situation you're facing, shouldn't you?"

Kingpin responded with a smile. He wasn't aware of the real-time news from New York, but since Daredevil had appeared in front of him, it meant that Daredevil must have tried to investigate the Hand himself, and had come up empty-handed.

In reality, Matt's situation was even more complicated. Not only had the other side repeatedly cut off the leads, but they had also specifically sent Erica to harass him, while the investigations conducted by the other members of the Defenders had made absolutely no progress.

It was as if the Hand was specifically targeting him and didn't care about anyone else, but once Matt investigated the Hand himself, the Hand would immediately cut off the leads.

What truly puzzled and worried Matt was what the other party was delaying. With each passing day yielding nothing, he had no choice but to return to Rikers Island and to Kingpin.

“Tell me what you want, Fisk. If you’re going to stand with your enemies against the Hand, what do you want then? A reduced sentence?”

“You’re overthinking it, you devil. All I need is to destroy the Hand, nothing more.” Kingpin, as always, cut a steak and put it in his mouth. “I grew up in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s my home, my base, my everything. And I will never allow a bunch of Japanese to set foot there.”

Matt paused for a moment, then asked uncertainly, "Is that all?"

"That's it."

That's definitely not what Kingpin is after. Matt's usually unbearable eyes suddenly sharpened. He silently felt the two men's heartbeats, and after a long while, he nodded without even a smile: "I look forward to the help you can provide. I hope you can help us find the Hand."

"Yes, demon, believe me. You may not believe it, but compared to the Hand, I have a natural advantage that allows me to uncover these lurking cowards: I know every corner of Hell's Kitchen intimately!"

For some reason, Matt thought of Peter Parker.

Would New York's friendly neighbors be intimately familiar with every corner of the city?
