The Guardians of the Galaxy Return

Chapter 828 The Guardians of the Galaxy Return

As the Guardians of the Galaxy's exaggerated orange-red spaceship landed in the cabin of the S.O.R.D. headquarters, the entire Guardians of the Galaxy disembarked. Compared to last time, their team composition was almost unchanged, except for the addition of a space dog.

Yes, that really was a dog, the kind wearing a spacesuit.

Star-Lord, who was the first to disembark, looked at the Sky Sword Bureau's spaceship with disbelief: "Is the flow of time on Earth different from other parts of the universe? Have we been gone for thousands of years? How come Earth has such a large spaceship?"

"Or perhaps you're just dreaming, Peter Quill, and we're all just part of your dream."

Drax spoke with a dry humor that neither he nor others could understand, as he passed Star-Lord. Rocket Raccoon and Gamora, chatting behind him, walked past him: "Do you think we can steal this ship? It looks like it could fetch a lot of money."

Gamora calmly replied to Rocket, "This ship is too big and requires too many sailors. We can't afford to hire that many people."

"Ha, perhaps we can have Cosmo mind control the crew of this ship."

Star-Lord sighed helplessly, not wanting to move an inch, until the dog in the spacesuit walked up to his legs and hit them hard with its tail. Then Star-Lord looked down at Cosmo, who communicated with him telepathically: "I won't do that. I'm just a cute little dog."

"Yeah, I know, so what now?!"

Star-Lord turned to look at Groot, who had touched his shoulder. The giant tree simply replied, "I am Groot."

"No! You can't help the rocket steal the spaceship, that's not our spaceship!"

Star-Lord's dismayed response only earned him another "I am Groot," but what followed was even more devastating, as Mantis came out and remarked, "You all seem to get along really well."

Finally, Adam Warlock walked past Star-Lord, who stood there dumbfounded, and turned to look at him: "What's wrong, Quill?"

"No, I'm fine. I think I'll be fine once I get to Earth." Star-Lord shook his head helplessly and muttered to himself, "I need to go ask the Avengers if they're still hiring."

They then walked down the corridor and saw the S.W.O.R.D. team waiting for them. Mar-Vell, the only known alien on Earth and a special advisor to S.W.O.R.D., shook hands with Star-Lord: "Welcome, Your Highness, and your fellow adventurers."

"Uh, thank you, Mar-Vell. Your boat is nice. Where did you get it?"

"The Avengers destroyed an enemy from the 31st century. This is a warship that the enemy brought from the 31st century, which we are temporarily using as a defense system for Earth."

"Oh, I know, like the Terminator?"

Mar-Vell looked completely bewildered, so he chose to skip the topic: "Considering that this warship is basically outside the atmosphere, this is also an official institution for communication between extraterrestrial civilizations and Earth."

After Mar-Vell finished his introduction, Star-Lord was completely bewildered: "Earth has been unified?"

"...No." "Then why doesn't Earth have a government, but does it have official diplomatic missions?"

Star-Lord's question left Mar-Vell speechless, so he had to skip it for the time being: "In short, you all know what I need your help with. A centurion of the Nova Corps was killed while chasing space pirates, and a young man from Earth has taken up his mantle. I need you to escort the space pirates he captured back to Xandar, and take the boy with you."

“I understand, it’s not difficult.” Star-Lord nodded and looked at his teammates, his face showing difficulty: “But... you all know what kind of people my friends are. If there’s no reward at all…”

"I know, I know. The Heavenly Sword Bureau will negotiate the compensation with you, and it will definitely satisfy your friends."

Mar-Vell quickly nodded in agreement, then continued talking to Star-Lord: "Speaking of which... there's an Avenger waiting for you here, someone you know, Spider-Man."

“Oh, that young man also named Peter.” Star-Lord nodded. “No problem. What does he need us for?”

“I don’t know, he said he absolutely has to meet with you and the Rockets.”
-
A few minutes later, Rocket complained in a reception room: "I also want to see where the ship's warehouses and armory are. 31st-century weapons, Quill, aren't you going to take a good look?"

"I won't even live to the 31st century. Rockets? I don't think I can even understand 23rd-century technology, let alone the 31st century."

"Ha, that's you. Believe me, I can figure out 31st-century Earth technology in ten minutes, no problem at all."

As the two were arguing, the door opened, and Rocket, arms crossed, looked unceremoniously at Peter, who was four or five times his height: "Alright, Spider-Boy, what are you doing keeping us here?"

"I guess it's to keep you from running around, oh."

Star-Lord got kicked hard by Rocket, but Peter wasn't surprised. He got straight to business and projected a coordinate onto the screen in the room: "We've discovered an anomalous energy point directly opposite Earth's orbit. It was first discovered by Osborn Technologies, and then the Fantastic Four and NASA sent probes to investigate. They confirmed that there's a weak point in space here, connecting to another location. Because it's directly opposite, we call it Anti-Earth."

Star-Lord nodded. Although he didn't recognize two of the three organizations Spider-Man mentioned, it didn't prevent him from understanding the basic information: On the opposite side of Earth's orbit, there was an unopened portal leading to a place called Anti-Earth.

"So, what kind of monster or supervillain emerged from inside?"

“Not yet, but if anything has ever actually come out of there, then you’ll be very familiar with it.” Peter said, playing back the footage captured by the detector, which showed only emptiness: “I, uh, I can see a little bit of the future, and I’ve been to other parallel universes, so I know a lot of basic information about anti-Earth.”

"The creator of Anti-Earth is Herbert E. Degas Wyndham, a PhD in Biology from Cambridge University. Based on intelligence from other universes and foreseeing the future, he also has another name: Supreme Evolution. He conducted research on the evolution of other organisms besides primates into intelligent life forms in Anti-Earth."

Star-Lord watched as Rocket's expression shifted from indifference to utter fury.

"And we don't yet have a way to open the portal to the anti-Earth."
