Chapter 20

Clearing the Field

Blacksor Tower Wizarding Academy is located in a corner of the Wizarding Continent. To the east lies the vast and mysterious Seven Rings Holy Tower of the Wizarding Continent, blocked by the Thorn Forest. To the west lies an endless ocean called the Gem Sea, which is also blocked by the Blacksor Mountains.

Therefore, Blacksorta is a relatively open and independent wizarding academy.

Of course, the so-called barriers of the Thorn Forest and the Blackstring Mountains are only for ordinary wizard apprentices; they do not pose much of an obstacle to formal wizards who have mastered the ability to fly.

Two weeks later, Green finally toured the entire Blacksor Tower Wizarding Academy and truly understood its layout and planning.

In general, Blackso Tower is the true core of the entire wizarding academy, but for ordinary wizarding apprentices, only the lower seven floors of Blackso Tower are open to the public, while the upper nearly one hundred floors are in a state of absolute secrecy, accessible only to powerful wizards.

Besides Blacksor Tower, the Wizarding Academy has three main gathering places for wizarding apprentices: the teaching hall, the library, and the bounty pavilion.

Today is the once-a-decade apprentice enrollment day at Blacksorta Wizarding Academy, and also the unified enrollment day for all wizarding academies across the Wizarding Continent.

Generally speaking, each wizarding academy has its own sphere of influence, acquiring corresponding territory based on the academy's strength, and then selecting students with wizarding apprentice qualifications within its sphere of influence.

However, it is clear that Blacksor Tower Wizarding Academy is not a place that recruits students in a conventional or reasonable way, perhaps because it is too powerful compared to ordinary wizarding academies.

A large number of new enlightened students entered the academy under the guidance of the older generation of wizard apprentices.

The newcomers, filled with a mixture of curiosity and pride, strolled through the academy's numerous buildings, pointing and whispering amongst themselves. Some even made grand pronouncements, vowing to become some kind of great Stigmata Wizard...

The Bloodsail Alliance members also followed the newcomers' lead and went through the motions.

Compared to the newcomers selected from the Wizarding Continent, the Bloodsail Alliance members were much calmer. Having undergone a brutal baptism, they seemed to see their own arrogant, ignorant, childish, and ridiculous selves reflected in these newcomers.

On the smooth marble plaza, thousands of newlyweds stood in neat rows.

A dozen or so wizards of various appearances sat casually on the towering altar. All of them seemed to prefer to conceal their bodies under their wide robes, hiding their secrets.

Wizards don't have the same level of etiquette and polite conversation as nobles. Especially when high-ranking wizards treat low-ranking wizards, they often speak with an attitude of giving orders and commands, which is a matter of course under the rules of the Wizarding Continent.

In the Wizarding World, time is measured using hourglasses and natural days, but there are also places where mechanical clocks are used to tell hours and minutes.

One natural day is equal to twelve hourglasses, which is roughly equivalent to two mechanical clock hours in terms of the hourly system of East Coral Island.

After three-quarters of the hourglass had been used, a dozen or so wizards on the stage, each with their own distinct voices, recounted the general rules of the Black Tower Wizarding Academy, as well as the various tasks and trials that wizarding apprentices needed to complete.

Reflecting on their experience on the ship, the Bloodsail Alliance members no longer harbored any naive illusions about the Blacksorta Wizarding Academy.

Green summarized it.

In general, Blacksota offers a three-year preferential treatment period for newly enrolled beginners, but this so-called preferential treatment period is nothing more than a meager monthly allowance of two magic stones and a period without mandatory missions.

Three years later, a new recruit trial mission will be conducted.

Even a fool could see that this so-called trial mission would easily filter out most of the trash that the academy deemed unqualified.

As for the use of the magic stone?

Green was unaware of the most fundamental use of this magically powerful stone, but for many newcomers at the wizarding academy, almost everything related to improving their strength was tied to the Philosopher's Stone.

For example, borrowing wizard books for a week requires one magic stone, attending a wizard's lecture costs half a magic stone per session, and purchasing experimental materials is never enough magic stones no matter how many there are. If there are enough magic stones, wizard apprentices can even ask individual wizards questions, request instruction, or even purchase precious magical artifacts...

In short, the Philosopher's Stone is more valuable to wizards than gold coins circulate among ordinary people, all because it has practical value and is an essential consumable for all wizards.

After one hourglass period.

For wizards who value their time, facing a group of ignorant wizarding apprentices is a meaningless and time-wasting affair, and the gathering ends.

However, at the last moment, the wizards finally announced some good news.

"The Academy will provide all wizarding apprentices with a free crystal ball and a basic seven-magnetic wizarding knowledge course. This is a great favor from the Seven Rings Holy Tower."

A crystal ball? A wizarding knowledge class? The Seven Rings Tower?

While Green was marveling at the crystal ball and the introductory wizarding course, the unfamiliar term "Seven-Ringed Tower" caught his attention.

……

three days later.

Green, the siblings Jochlis and Bingham had already secured front-row seats in Lecture Hall No. 9. Since the instructors had not yet arrived, everyone was making a ruckus. Bingham, who had briefly teamed up with other teams on the ship, was a chatterbox and started tormenting Green again.

"Let me tell you a secret: those owls at the academy aren't actually owls at all. I overheard from a senior that they're the eyes and ears of the enforcement team; they're the guardians of the academy!"

After a pause, Bingham licked his lips smugly and added, "Also, it's said that there are two places in this academy that newcomers should never go to. One place is said to be where strange and bizarre things often happen, and the other place is basically a gladiatorial arena for wizard apprentices!"

"Strange thing?"

After thinking for a moment, Green concluded that the strange occurrence was probably due to the ignorance and fear of lower-level wizards towards the knowledge of higher-level wizards.

As for that wizard apprentice arena, Green had also heard about it.

Although the Blacksor Tower Wizarding Academy has a written rule prohibiting killing within the academy, it never truly forbids it.

There are two unspoken rules in the college.

Firstly, if the method of murder can escape the monitoring of the law enforcement team, then the victim dies in vain, and no one will investigate. Black Sota really lacks sympathy for the weak.

Secondly, there is a place called the Desolate Courtyard.

The enforcement team is only responsible for collecting corpses here, not for pursuing any legal action, hence the place is also known as the Wizard Apprentice Arena.

On the other side, seeing that Green seemed somewhat disbelieving that strange things were really happening at the academy, Bingham quickly said, "It's true. It's said that not only do we newcomers encounter strange things there, but even those high and mighty wizards encounter them, and they can't even prevent strange things from happening."

Seeing Bingham's confident and serious demeanor, Green became curious and asked, "Where?"

"Hehe, I knew you'd ask. It's about that abandoned water tower south of the academy. But these strange things only happen at night, when you're alone. If you're interested, you can sneak in and take a look at it at night..."

Bingham encouraged Green, but Green remained noncommittal.

However, deep down, Green did not believe in this so-called strange event, but he dared not investigate it rashly.

Before they knew it, the hall was already packed with newcomers. Green and Binghamson were whispering about what they had heard at the academy, while Raffi and the siblings Jochlis were talking in hushed tones on the other side.

Just then, a sudden voice appeared.

This was a girl dressed in gorgeous clothes and with elegant manners. Unlike many wizard apprentices, she did not buy and wear the loose robes that the wizards did.

The girl had short, purplish-brown hair and wore a string of red and blue gemstone headbands on her forehead. The delicate purple-black floral patterns on her dress exuded a noble, elegant, and mysterious aura, highlighting her graceful figure. Her snow-white skin was like a painting.

This girl definitely comes from an extraordinary background!

Because the noble aura she inadvertently exudes far surpasses that of the former Lafite.

Of course, in the Wizarding Continent Academy, there is no difference between commoners and nobles; the only difference between wizards is knowledge and power.

At this moment, the elegant girl said somewhat angrily to the boy behind her who was fawning over her like a follower, "There are no seats in nine halls in a row! Didn't you say there are always plenty of empty seats here, and we weren't in a hurry on the way!"

The boy was a little embarrassed.

According to what he had heard, it was considered good if the new students could fill eight lecture halls in previous years, but this year's new students filled all nine lecture halls, and there were even many people outside who couldn't get in at all.

The boy immediately paid the price for his lack of information.

With a gloomy face, the boy was unwilling to admit his mistakes and incompetence in front of the girl. Thinking of this, the boy looked at Yokliana beside him.

Sure enough, anyone can see that someone is weak. Whether on the ship or at the wizarding academy, Yorkliana's gentle nature would not frighten anyone.

"You two! Get out of the way."

The boy pointed at Yokriana and Joklis and shouted, thinking that Joklis was probably Yokriana's suitor.

As he spoke, the boy glanced behind him. After that glance, several people stood up in the back row of the hall. These people seemed to be from the same region as the boy. They all walked over and looked at the somewhat panicked Yorkriana with a shared sense of antagonism.

Bang!

Raffi slammed his hand on the table, standing up furiously and glaring at the boy with eyes practically spitting fire: "Are you talking to us?"

The cold words were practically squeezed out from between Laffey's teeth, and you can imagine how furious he was.

Almost without saying a word, based on their month-long shared experience on the ship, Green and Bingham also stood up, while Jochlis, bristling and glaring, roared, "Let us go? Who do you think you are?"

This shout drew the attention of almost everyone in the hall.

A strange boy was sitting next to Yocris. He wore black-rimmed glasses and looked very polite.

Seeing that Green and his group dared to yell at the menacing people, the boy quickly moved away to distance himself from Yocris, thinking to himself, "What a bunch of clueless guys."

Their eyes stung; looking at Green and the others was practically the same as looking at dead people.

Next to the boy with glasses, another girl covered her mouth, a hint of pity in her eyes as she looked at Green and the others.

On the other side, the boy who heard Yokris yell and call for help was also stunned for a moment.

However, what followed was fury!

His judgment was very accurate; he could almost immediately tell that, apart from Raffi, who might have a better background, the others exuded an aura of "commoners" from the inside out.

At this moment, these lowly commoners actually dared to disobey him!

And he made himself look bad in front of her!

The boy, brimming with pent-up anger, nearly went mad. Standing a full six feet tall, he looked down at Green and his companions: "You, kneel down right now and slap yourselves, or maybe I'll spare you. Otherwise, I swear, you won't live more than six months here!"

The boy was filled with rage and malice.

How dare those lowly commoners offend me? No, I must ask that senior for advice on how to get rid of them!

"Won't live past six months? Hmph... Fine!"

Raffi laughed in fury: "I'd like to see how you manage to make us die within six months!"

After saying that, Raffi was no longer angry. He sat in the chair and stared straight at the boy in front of him, who was equally furious.

"Fine, since you're courting death..."

Just as the boy was about to utter a harsh remark, a sharp "smack" rang out, and a resounding slap landed hard on his face. The boy turned around in disbelief to look at the friend who had slapped him, his face flushed red with anger, and veins bulging.

The friend who slapped him panicked and explained, "It wasn't me. I felt like I was being controlled just now, it must have been..."

At this moment, a total of seventy or eighty people stood up silently in the huge lecture hall. Each of them had an astonishingly fierce look on their faces. They occupied half of the hall and surrounded the dozen or so people, coldly staring at the guy who had been arrogant towards Green and his group.

The lightsaber caster, Amrond, and the one-armed controller walked side by side. The controller frowned and said, "There's only one-tenth of an hourglass left before class starts."

Amrand chuckled lightly, toying with the exquisite ring on his hand, and said coldly, "That's enough."

Amrund then shouted emotionlessly into the lecture hall, "Bloodsail Alliance, clear the area! Anyone who doesn't want trouble, leave now!"
