Chapter 31
Magic Runes
Green Cottage.
Opening his eyes, Green subconsciously recalled last night.
"This feeling..."
Green closed his eyes.
Suddenly, Green woke up!
No, it's just a bodily instinct. Wizards are creatures who submit to absolute wisdom and seek truth and knowledge. How could they possibly succumb to instinct like wild beasts?
Thinking this, Green quickly sat up and shook his head vigorously.
But as Green turned his head, he saw Raffi, still fast asleep beside him, her graceful body half-covered. Her amazing curves, her soft, delicate, and white skin, and her full, vibrant body made Green involuntarily swallow hard.
Who hasn't been young?
"Gulp, uh... never mind, I'll give myself a half-day off today."
Thinking this, Green gently approached the sleeping Raffi and hugged her alluring body from behind, feeling the wonderful and fiery sensation within.
"Hmm... not again?"
A cloying sound came from deep in Raffi's throat.
As Raffi opened her eyes, she seemed to suddenly remember something, and abruptly turned around. Beneath her long eyelashes, a pair of beautiful, star-like eyes stared intently at Green, as if trying to see right through him.
Feeling a little uncomfortable under Raffi's gaze, Green blushed and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Green, from now on you can only belong to me!"
Undisguised in her joy, Raffi hugged Green tightly, looking directly into his eyes. For a moment, Green felt almost suffocated by Raffi's pressure.
"Well……"
Green and Raffi didn't get up until noon.
This was something Green, who was constantly busy every day, could hardly imagine.
After casually touring Green's room and laboratory, Raffi said tenderly, "Now I know where you live. I'll come visit you when I have time, but don't you dare disappear again! But..."
At this point, Raffi paused, then said somewhat embarrassedly, "We are ultimately wizarding apprentices, and becoming full-fledged wizards is our goal. Love, though beautiful, is merely a means to sustain a long life and a seasoning; we shouldn't become too obsessed with it."
As he spoke, Raffi encouraged Green, saying, "The most important thing for you right now is to do your best to survive the trial. I don't want to have to attend the funeral of the person I just got together with."
Green was a little embarrassed; Raffi had such a strong presence that she had already said everything. He could only reply, "Yeah, you too."
"Hmph."
Raffi gave Green one last kiss and left without looking back.
Green calmed himself down.
I never expected that yesterday, when I was just thinking about the upcoming trial exam and attending a Bloodsail Alliance gathering, these things would happen.
With a keen nose, I smelled the lingering scent of Lafite all over my body, a sweet and satisfying feeling welled up inside me. Is this love?
If I have the chance in the future, I'll take Raffi to Old Ham's grave to pay my respects.
With that in mind, Green closed the door and continued his experimental research.
……
Green once again threw himself into experimental study and research.
In the past few days, Green not only made new discoveries about the forbidden zone of life codes, but also made an unexpected gain in elemental magic runes.
Green has to put the matter of the forbidden zone of life codes on hold for now.
Because Green discovered that to proceed with the next stage of his research, he needed a valuable experimental subject: a living person!
However, if someone were to conduct witchcraft experiments on ordinary people and be discovered, they would immediately become a notorious black wizard, wanted by all wizarding academies, and hunted down by black wizard hunters at any time.
Green wouldn't dare take such a risk to conduct human experiments.
Clearly, Green did not intend to do something that violated his wizarding principles. He could kill cruelly among his own kind because of rules and competition, but he could not engage in dark torture.
Green thought of another way to solve the problem, which is also the way many wizards solve problems: to buy a human-shaped slave from another world from some powerful wizard.
These humanoid slaves from another world are not actually human; they are merely humanoid creatures from another world, and therefore are not protected by the rules of the wizarding world.
In this way, Green was saved a lot of trouble.
Since the experiment on the forbidden zone of the life code could not continue, Green turned all his attention to the magical rune he had unexpectedly discovered.
Aside from the twenty-six regular runes, there are indeed many rare runes in magic, but obtaining those runes is a thousand times more difficult than improving a magic circle!
Just like the wizard Dila back then, even though he was a level two wizard with the Mask of No Form after mastering the Death Soul Flame, he still needed to lure the giant octopus and many sea monsters to exhaust his magic power before he could hijack the ship. This shows the deterrent power of these rare runes forming strange magic.
Thinking of this, Green felt a surge of warmth in his heart, and his gaze burned as he looked at the two tree branches on the experimental table.
The two tree branches looked pitch black, almost like charcoal. Originally, the two broken branches were one piece, an inconspicuous item that Green accidentally found in a magic materials shop on the first floor of Black Tower.
According to the shopkeeper, this branch was left behind after a natural lightning strike from the sky accidentally hit a tree. Although it contained some lightning power, it had no known use. However, because it was rather peculiar and rare, it was put up for sale for two magic stones.
At the time, Green was only curious about the branch and wanted to buy it as a cheap material to practice alchemy, without paying much attention to it.
However, when Green returned to the lab and cut the branch into pieces to make alchemy material, he discovered something unusual.
When Green cut open the branch, he was surprised to find that the cut was as smooth as a mirror, and the lightning power inside the branch, though highly concentrated and compressed, remained stable and did not dissipate.
This piqued Green's interest, so he stopped using the broken branch as alchemical material and began to study the strange nature of the lightning within it. He attempted to extract some of the lightning's power and then apply it to alchemical smelting. In the end, Green even created some potions to aid his research...
But it failed time and time again; the idea was simply impossible.
Otherwise, why doesn't the shop owner do it himself?
Green had been planning to give up, but one day, after meditating, his vision suddenly blurred, and he seemed to discover a blurry, complex rune at the cut of the severed branch.
The rune seemed to exist for only a moment before disappearing; even Green thought his vision was blurry.
Startled, Green simply opened his eyes and stared intently at the broken branch.
About two hourglasses later, Green seemed to experience another moment of dizziness...
After several days, Green confirmed one thing: the rune he had unexpectedly discovered must be the rare rune mentioned in the sorcery book.
This discovery immediately delighted Green.
From the books of witchcraft, Green knew the preciousness of those rare runes. Rare runes could not be recorded or conveyed by any visual means such as hand-drawing or carving. They could only be passed down through the division of the soul after being comprehended by the soul.
Ever since Green realized he had found a treasure, he began to observe the rune that flashed by in a flash at a fixed time every day, hoping to comprehend it as soon as possible.
However, Green still has no concept of this rune in his soul. According to Green's preliminary estimate, it will take at least ten years for his soul to fully comprehend this rune.
Thus, he began to wear these two pieces of broken wood almost close to his body, and would check them at fixed times.
time flies.
Before you know it, it's time for the newcomer trial exam for Green's class. The terrifying trial, which previous wizarding apprentices called the Blood Millstone, is about to begin.
Opening his eyes, Green subconsciously recalled last night.
