Chapter 8

Conflict in the Cabin

The Zerato pier was filled with cheering people.

Green and his group stood on the edge of the ship's deck, waving goodbye to everyone with some excitement. Only Raffi seemed a little downcast, a trace of sorrow flashing beneath her eyebrows.

This departure may very well mean he will never have the chance to return in his lifetime...

On the dock, Duke Zerato, Arowoz, and Dila stood together.

The wizard Dila, who was responsible for picking up and dropping off children with wizarding apprentice qualifications, had a face that was different from that of the mysterious wizard Alowoz beside him, as if it were always shrouded in a thin mist.

Beneath Dila's wide gray wizard robes, a face with slightly pale wrinkles under the sunlight was boldly peered at by the people on the docks, and a black eyepatch covered his right eye, making him appear to be a one-eyed blind man.

"Hehe, I didn't expect you to be the one picking up and dropping off these little guys this time. How are things on the other islands?"

After Arowoz and Dila exchanged wizarding rituals, he asked...

goo goo...

The red-eyed frog in Arrowitz's hand also puffed out its big white belly and croaked a few times.

Dila has a habit of flying slightly off the ground to talk to people, in order to cover up the fact that he is short.

After smiling at the red-eyed frog, Dila took out a magic stone, which disappeared after being flicked away by the frog's tongue. Only then did Dila smile and look at Arowoz.

"Not bad. There are quite a few more qualified wizard apprentices this year than in previous years. It looks like I can make a good fortune on this mission, hahaha."

Dila said jokingly.

"Yes, there are definitely more than in previous years..."

Arowoz also sighed.

Dila didn't seem too concerned about the issue, instead turning her gaze to Duke Zerato beside her.

"You old codger, you always make such a big show of things every time you come here. Be careful those kids don't lose their lives because of their pride."

The commotion Dilla was referring to was naturally the cheering crowd on the dock.

Although part of it was Duke Zelat's deliberate arrangement, the people living in these remote parts of the East Coral Island were still happy to come and join in the fun, as they were able to get up close to the legendary wizard.

The Duke twirled the ruby ring on his right thumb with his left hand, its smooth surface resembling a baby's face as it gently swayed.

"Sigh, I'd rather they be proud than forget this place later. In case one of these kids becomes a full-fledged wizard decades from now, they can come back and visit."

Dila chuckled softly, glanced at the wizard apprentices on the deck who were bidding farewell to the cheering crowd, and said disdainfully, "In previous years, it was considered good if a ship could produce a few formal wizards. These little guys don't have much of a chance."

Clearly, this wizard didn't think highly of Green and his group, because Dira, who had experienced the hardships of being a wizard apprentice, knew all too well how difficult it was to become a full-fledged wizard.

Just then, Dila seemed to remember something and said excitedly, "By the way, there are two little guys on this ship with over fifteen points of spiritual power and innate manifesting talent. Even I was tempted to take them as disciples. If it weren't for their connections over there..."

Later, upon hearing Dila's description, the Duke showed a somewhat surprised expression.

However, Arrowoz, who was standing nearby, shook his head and said, "For wizards, knowledge is the foundation of everything."

Dila pursed her lips: "Good talent and acquiring knowledge are not mutually exclusive."

The conversation between the three lasted for almost half an hourglass. Dila glanced behind her and saw that the group of sailors who were replenishing supplies had almost finished loading the cargo.

Well then, it's time to set sail.

Although wizards experience the emotional fluctuations of normal humans, they have learned to control their most superficial desires. Over the years, they have developed a considerable ability to control themselves, so they do not show too much reluctance.

"Well then, farewell."

Dila performed a wizard's farewell ritual on the two of them.

"Well, if this trip to the underground world goes smoothly, I'll go back to the academy in twenty years to see if those old guys have taught any decent students to participate in the Holy Tower Qualifying Battle."

Arrowworth joked.

A moment later, as the giant ship carrying wizard apprentices slowly departed, the people on the dock began to disperse, though their conversations still revolved around the topic of wizards.

Clearly, ordinary people are very curious and in awe of these mysterious wizards.

On the other side, besides the busy sailors on the deck of the ship, the seven wizard apprentices, while being lectured by the wizard named Dila, soon discovered that there were not only seven wizard apprentices on board.

"You little guys, the first rule you need to remember is that while competition is the eternal rule of the wizarding world, our Lilith Hut Wizarding Academy has a rule that wizards within the academy are forbidden from killing each other. So, if any of you dare to cause a death on the ship, I'll make sure he's left to bask in the sun on the mast for seven days before I throw him into the sea to feed the sharks."

Dila gave the group a fierce look, leaving the wizard apprentices with no doubt about his resolve.

"Hmph, secondly, you are not allowed to disturb me until someone dies."

The wizard seemed uninterested in arguing with the few kids who weren't even proper wizarding apprentices. He went straight to the best house on the deck, shouting as he did so.

"Baron, assign room numbers to these guys. Keep an eye on these little rascals, just make sure they don't dismantle the ship."

"Understood, Master."

A tall, dark-skinned man on the distant deck shouted in their direction.

After Dila went inside, the guy named Baron ran over from a distance.

Green and his friends noticed that although Baron was shirtless and didn't look particularly big, his well-defined muscles gave them a considerable sense of intimidation, and indeed, Baron proved to be someone not to be trifled with.

"I am a legendary knight. Although my master forbids me from contacting him unless someone dies, I can be consulted if anything outrageous happens on the ship. Hmm, for example, some little rascals like to harass those pretty girls..."

Baron grinned, revealing his white teeth, and glanced at Raffi and Yorkriana.

Green was shocked. The legendary knight had become a wizard's servant?

It should be noted that no legendary knight has ever been born in the entire city of Bisel, a powerful knight who is said to be qualified to travel the wizarding world.

Lafite let out a cold snort.

"Anyone who dares to harass me, I'll throw them into the sea."

A chilling aura filled the air, and one of the seven wizard apprentices instantly froze, drenched in cold sweat.

Yorkriana blushed and didn't know what to do. Next to her, Joris also imitated Raffi and snorted coldly, "Anyone who dares to touch my sister will have to get past me first."

After saying that, the guy clenched his fist, making a cracking sound.

Of the seven, the strongest in terms of physique is this Joklis, who is a full 1.8 meters tall and has a pretty good build. He could probably take on two of them without much trouble.

Next are Green and Gillum. As for Wade and Bingham, since they are nobles and have never done any work, they have no fighting ability at all.

Baron seemed to have seen this kind of thing many times. Without saying a word, a large, dark hand reached into a wooden box on the deck, pulled out seven number plates, and threw them to the seven men.

"These are your room numbers."

Baron then ignored everyone and left.

Wizard apprentices lived in cabins below the deck of ocean liners, which consisted of five levels.

The group quickly discovered that the cabin was extremely damp and the conditions were terrible. Moreover, the conditions were even worse in the lower levels of the cabin. On the very bottom, they had to live with the sailors, which made their faces turn grim.

Clearly, the luxurious lifestyle they had experienced along the way had brought about a sudden and dramatic change in them, and they were finding it quite difficult to adjust.

The one with the worst expression was Lafite, because the brand she was holding was the lowest-end brand, which made her delicate face almost freeze, turning her extremely gloomy.

Green didn't care, because he got a three-tiered sign, which was neither too high nor too low, and it was acceptable. In any case, Green had gotten used to a simple life over the past ten years.

Among them, the happiest were the siblings, Yocris and Yokliana.

The fact that they both drew the fifth floor at the same time is quite remarkable, making people marvel at their luck.

The seven people searched for their rooms with different feelings. Since the two siblings, Joklis and his sister, were on the top floor, they naturally arrived first. Just as the others were preparing to leave the top floor to find their own rooms, Joklis's roar erupted in the cabin, causing all the other wizard apprentices on the fifth floor to peek out from their rooms.

"This is the room my sister assigned me. Please leave!"

Yokris snapped at the man who had taken over his sister's room. Yorkriana, terrified, clung to her brother's sleeve, saying in a low voice, "Brother, should we give it to him? I'm scared."

The man confronting Yokris was also a large man, about the same height as Yokris, and he looked fearless.

Hearing what Joris's sister was saying, the guy became even more arrogant and sneered, "You think you can just leave like that? Who do you think you are? What number? Rooms are first come, first served, hehehehe... You can always have your sister come with me."

After saying that, the guy chuckled and glanced at Yokriana, then made a provocative gesture toward Yokriana.

"You're asking for it!"

Yocris was immediately enraged, his face flushed and his neck bulging as he threw a punch at the guy.

Yokris and this guy quickly got into a fight.

Green and Bingham couldn't stand it anymore. Although they had been annoyed by the arrogance of Johns and Gillum along the way, they had to step up at this moment, since they had come together.

Only Wade remained still, seemingly stunned by the rude fighting.

Meanwhile, Gillum was even more ruthless. After scoffing, he curled his lip and said, "It's none of my business."

Then he left without looking back.

"You bastard, you ran away like that! Don't let me see you again!" Wade roared at Gillum as he left, but he didn't even try to go up to him.

On the other side, Green and Binghamson finally separated the two. It has to be said that Joklis's fighting ability is still extremely high. In just a short while, the guy he was fighting already had swollen eyes.

This surprised Green.

"Alright, alright, you're calling for backup, huh? Fine, I'll call too! Boss, Rat, stop watching and come help!"

The man with swollen eyes shouted into the cabin, glaring menacingly at Yokris as if he wanted to devour him.

Chris, with an air of fearlessness, sneered, "Go ahead and call them, call them all. I can take on all three of you by myself!"

However, after a commotion in the cabin, Green turned around and his pupils contracted instantly, a chill running down his spine: "This is terrible, this is terrible, Yoris is finished..."
