Chapter 36
: A Waste of Wine and Rice is a Rare Treasure
The six great gods, who were deep in thought, were also drawn in by the aroma. They watched as the fragrance of the tea brewed into a myriad of wondrous scenes, as if it encompassed all things in the world. It was truly magnificent. Nuwa and the other two great gods were also amazed, never expecting that a single tea leaf could produce such wonders.
Seeing that the tea was ready, Guang Chengzi dared not delay. He immediately picked a few lotus leaves from the pool, shaped them into cups, poured the tea into the lotus leaf cups, and respectfully placed them in front of the six great gods.
"Why use a leaf as a cup? Why not use gold or jade?" Hongyun asked curiously, holding one of the lotus leaf cups.
Upon hearing this, Guang Chengzi respectfully replied, "Reporting back to Uncle Hongyun, there are specific considerations regarding the type of teacup used for this exquisite tea."
The nephew brewed the tea with fire, which naturally resulted in a strong fire element. Then, he used the "Three Lights Divine Water" to brew the tea. Among them, the "Sunlight Divine Water" echoed the fire element, which naturally made the dryness even stronger and the heat difficult to suppress.
Therefore, my nephew used lotus leaves as cups. Lotus leaves belong to the element of wood in water, and the combination of water and wood can just suppress the heat in this tea, returning it to a balanced and peaceful state, which best presents the taste of the wonderful tea.
If you are making iced tea, you should use a fire jade cup instead. Fire jade belongs to fire within earth, which can reduce the freezing cold and add a warm and rich flavor. This combination of addition and subtraction will highlight the original wonder of the tea.
This perfectly aligns with the essence of the Dao: the path of the Great Dao, whether main road or side road, all lead to the Great Dao, so there's no need to concern oneself with how many paths there are.
Guang Chengzi spoke frankly and openly, not only answering why lotus leaves were used as cups, but also mentioning other ways of brewing tea, and finally explaining the name of Dao Miao. It was clearly a flawless response.
Yuanshi Tianzun couldn't suppress his laughter upon hearing this, but he said with a stern face, "Why do you need to give such a long answer when I only ask you one question? Stop showing off your knowledge and leave at once."
No matter how outstanding a disciple is, a master will find it difficult to say anything good about them in front of outsiders, because others will say what they will say.
Nuwa quickly stopped her, saying, "Brother Yuanshi is too harsh. It's a good thing that I love learning, but my disciples are too lazy to learn even if I want them to. It's really a headache for me."
The Primordial Celestial Venerable sighed, "It's good that he's eager to learn, but this kid is really giving me a headache. I originally wanted him to copy books to cultivate his mind, but he copied all the books in my library. Now I don't know what to teach him. It's really a problem."
Zhen Yuanzi was so angry at Yuanshi Tianzun's words that he laughed. He pointed at him and said, "Such a blessing of trouble is not something everyone can have. If Senior Brother Yuanshi is really troubled, why not give this person to me? I will teach him a thing or two. I think I have some skills that he can learn from."
These words were half true and half false. If Yuanshi Tianzun really dared to give it up, then Zhen Yuanzi would not refuse.
The lively chatter of the group dispelled the previous heavy atmosphere. Hongyun picked up her teacup and took a sip. At first, she felt a burning sensation throughout her body, but then she felt a refreshing and peaceful fragrance emanating from her body. This sensation instantly dissipated, leaving her feeling neither agitated nor refreshed. Instead, it allowed the profound mysteries of the Great Dao to be revealed.
The Tao is the Tao, heat is the Tao, freshness is the Tao, but the Tao is neither heat nor freshness. These two perceptions are only one aspect of the Tao, too biased, and thus fail to reveal the full picture of the Great Tao.
Only by being balanced and peaceful, without joy or sorrow, without heat or cold, can one truly attain the lofty and profound Way.
The other masters also picked up the lotus leaf cups and drank from them. They first felt hot, then refreshed, and finally saw the true full picture of the Great Dao, and couldn't help but marvel.
Seeing that the teacup was empty, Guang Chengzi quickly lit a fire to brew tea, then refilled it. He then took on the role of a servant, serving melons and fruits, and then taking out pastries to plate them. He served me with utmost care and dedication.
These pastries were all made by Guang Chengzi using the Heaven and Earth Furnace in the Jade Void Palace. They were originally meant for casual enjoyment, but now that they are being served, they are just what the gods would like.
Among them, Nuwa Hongyun loved to taste this item the most, the former preferred the Hundred Flowers Mountain Pagoda, and the latter loved sweet cakes and pastries. As for the person, after tasting it once or twice, she preferred to drink tea.
"This disciple that Senior Brother Yuanshi has taken in is quite filial, serving me personally and allowing me to enjoy some good fortune. Since this is the case, this thing is of no use to me, so I will give it to you."
Nuwa smiled slightly, tied a sachet from her waist, and threw it into Guang Chengzi's arms, saying, "This thing is called a wine sachet. It is good at turning all things into wine. Even if you put mud and grass into it, you can make mud wine and wood wine, but the taste is not very good."
"The wine flask is not a magical treasure, but a rare gem of heaven and earth. I don't like the taste of wine and have always only taken a small sip. It would be useless to me anyway, so I'll give it to you. But I have one request: every million years, you must brew a jar of 'Myriad Flower Wine' for me and take it to Phoenix Perch Mountain. Are you willing?"
Guang Chengzi held the wine flask and glanced at Yuanshi Tianzun. Seeing Yuanshi Tianzun nod, he bowed and said, "Thank you, Goddess Nuwa, for bestowing this treasure. I am deeply grateful."
"Your Majesty? Hehe, I quite like that title."
Guang Chengzi blurted out "Goddess Nuwa," which initially surprised Nuwa, but then she smiled, clearly quite fond of the title.
Nuwa smiled, and joy immediately spread throughout the world. Flowers bloomed, plants flourished, birds took flight, and beasts cheered, as if the entire primordial world smiled along with Nuwa's smile.
Hongyun rubbed his head in slight distress and said, "Since Senior Sister Nuwa has already given me a treasure, I can't refuse. However, I have nothing of value to offer, so I can only give you a handful of sand."
After speaking, Hongyun grabbed something from her sleeve and casually tossed it out. Thousands of red lights floated out, transformed into a fist-shaped ball in mid-air, and landed inside Guangchengzi's sleeve.
Hongyun said, "This thing is called Soul-Scattering Divine Sand. I obtained it on Mount Sumeru in the West. Its original form was the Immortal-Slaying Sword Qi from the Four Swords of Zhuxian. It was worn down by the source of Mount Sumeru, and the two merged into one, transforming into this sand."
Whenever encountering an enemy, all it takes is to grab a handful and scatter it, and their souls will be wiped out. Even a Great Luo Golden Immortal couldn't withstand a few handfuls of divine sand. I've got this handful, so I'm giving it to you."
Hongyun offered such a powerful weapon, which even Yuanshi Tianzun's expression changed slightly. He quickly declined, saying that the item was too fierce and not suitable for Guangchengzi's use.
But Hongyun was stubborn. Even after giving him the gifts, he wouldn't take them back. He just said that if they were useless, he should throw them away and not return them to him.
Yuanshi Tianzun had no choice but to let Guangchengzi take the item.
Nuwa Hongyun either bestows rare treasures of heaven and earth or such deadly weapons that can harm even a Great Luo Golden Immortal. This made Zhen Yuanzi, who originally intended to give half a pot of Three Lights Divine Water as a greeting gift, feel that this item was not presentable.
After thinking it over, Zhen Yuanzi also took out a small bag from his sleeve and said, "This item of mine is quite similar to the one given to me by Senior Sister Nuwa. It is also a rare treasure of heaven and earth, called a rice bag."
This bag, too, can be transformed into food by simply placing all things in it. I see you enjoy making such tea snacks, so giving it to you now is a perfect match.
Guang Chengzi held the wine bag and rice sack, his face full of surprise. He couldn't believe such a thing existed. The primordial world was truly full of wonders.
