Chapter 6

You say it's your true heart, and I agree; I only believe in the word "kill&quot

This was also the first time Guang Chengzi had met this leader of the Three Pure Ones, the future senior brother of all the saints, and he couldn't help but compare him to Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian.

But no matter how much he favored his own mentor, he had to admit that Lao Tzu's reputation was well-deserved.

From his appearance, Lao Tzu looks like an ordinary old man, but only by looking carefully and with true eyes can one see the supreme Dao that seems to be able to penetrate eternity.

"But I seem to have seen this old man before, as if I had glimpsed him in the distant past, only to vanish as quickly as dew. Where could I have seen him?"

The more Guang Chengzi looked at Laozi, the more familiar he felt. This familiarity was not as clear as when he met a close relative, but rather like when he met a long-lost friend. Even if he couldn't remember him, he could still vaguely feel that past feeling.

It wasn't until he sensed the lamp-shaped spiritual light within his body that Guang Chengzi suddenly realized that it wasn't that he had seen Laozi before, but rather that this lamp had seen Laozi before.

Perhaps the two of them only brushed past each other, and Lao Tzu didn't even notice the palace lantern, but the Tushita Lamp remembered Lao Tzu firmly, and that ray of light engraved his image in it.

Only when Doushuai Lantern saw the person from before again did it release all the restrictions and let Guangchengzi refine it, as if it had fulfilled all its wishes and was without desire or want.

This discovery naturally moved Guang Chengzi deeply.

It was just a chance encounter, yet it caused such madness and obsession with a primordial spiritual treasure. Truly, Lao Tzu.

Lao Tzu seemed to sense a bit of fate as well. He turned his head and saw the palace lamp inside Guang Chengzi's body, and couldn't help but smile slightly.

"It seems we are indeed destined to meet. In that case, this jade pill is yours."

After saying this, Laozi casually tossed a jade-colored pill the size of a longan into Guang Chengzi's eyes.

Before the pill even arrived, its fragrance wafted out. Guang Chengzi smelled the extremely rich aroma of the pill and immediately felt his pores open, giving rise to a deep-seated hunger.

It's like a starving ghost, so hungry he'd eat grass roots and tree bark, suddenly seeing a Manchu Han Imperial Feast. The temptation that arises is irreplaceable by anything else.

As for the other Shangqing disciples, their eyes shone brightly, their faces filled with longing. Some of them, whose cultivation was not yet up to par, even had hair and scales sprouting all over their bodies, and drool dripping from their mouths, as if they wished they could just snatch it and swallow it whole!

Seeing this, Yuanshi Tianzun snorted coldly, his face full of displeasure. Daring to reveal their true form in his Jade Void Palace was simply courting death.

At this point, even Tongtian didn't want to defend his many disciples. After all, their attitude in front of his elder brother was a loss of face for him.

On the contrary, Lao Tzu kept chuckling and said, "This elixir is the result of my ten thousand years of refining. Consider it a gift for our first meeting."

The Primordial Celestial Venerable no longer paid attention to these creatures with fur and horns, and said indifferently, "This pill is called the Immortal Jade Pill. Simply swallow it, and you will be able to forge an immortal position and achieve the body of a Golden Immortal. You may keep it."

Guang Chengzi was about to decline, but since Yuanshi Tianzun had spoken, he naturally put it away and bowed, saying, "Guang Chengzi greets Grand Master Uncle. Thank you for bestowing this treasure. This disciple is deeply grateful."

Lao Tzu then raised a finger and laughed, "My third brother asked you a question and gave you the Tai'a sword. I gave you a pill, so naturally I have to ask you a question too."

Upon hearing this, Guang Chengzi said solemnly, "Please speak frankly, Grand Master. I will answer honestly and without reservation."

Lao Tzu lowered his head and thought for a moment before saying, "I can't think of anything right now, so I'll just ask you: 'Why do you kill people who use the excuse of their own conscience to commit murder?'"

"You must know that whether something is true to one's true nature or not is something even the three of us cannot explain in a few words. We only know that having no hindrance in one's thoughts is the merit of one's true nature. If you recklessly commit murder, aren't you no different from such people?"

Upon hearing this question, apart from the Three Pure Ones, many disciples of the Shangqing Sect also lowered their heads in deep thought, pondering the question and wanting to offer their own answers.

Upon hearing this, Guang Chengzi replied almost instantly: "When I commit killing, it is naturally out of my own conscience."

Those people could use their conscience as an excuse to commit indiscriminate killing. The disciple, displeased by this, felt a strong urge to kill and naturally wanted to kill them as well.

His words were forceful and resounding, causing the Jade Void Treasure Box inside his body to tremble, as if echoing its master's reasoning.

The changes in the Jade Void Treasure Box caused a slight decrease in power in the Jade Void Palace. Many Shangqing disciples were in a daze, as if they saw a green bamboo rooted in a broken rock.

This green bamboo has tough roots that cling tightly to the rock. No matter how strong the wind blows from the east, west, north, or south, it cannot be blown down. Just like his way of life, his heart is as tenacious and unyielding as he would rather die than bend.

He remained calm even when faced with a collapsing mountain.

He saw the world wither on his face, yet his heart remained undisturbed.

To face death without regret, and to laugh and talk even in pain – that is the true nature of us!

Guang Chengzi answered the Three Pure Ones' questions and felt as if his Dao heart had been wiped clean, becoming bright, clear, and transparent, reflecting himself like a mirror.

Looking at himself in the Mirror of the Dao Heart, Guang Chengzi was not as afraid to look as before. Instead, he stared straight into his reflection without the slightest hesitation. His eyes were calm and his heart was undisturbed. It was clear that he did not hesitate or deceive himself in the slightest.

With their profound cultivation, the Three Pure Ones could naturally see the changes in Guang Chengzi's heart. Even Laozi couldn't help but praise, "Second Brother has truly taken on a good disciple. He is only at the Xuanxian level now, yet he has comprehended profound and mysterious principles."

He's already reached a point where he doesn't lie to his true self, his mind is as clear as a mirror. I dare say, before reaching the Great Luo realm, he has no more bottlenecks to overcome. His subsequent cultivation is simply a matter of grinding away at the bottom, slowly but surely.

Tongtian, upon seeing this, said with envy, "I have traveled through the primordial world and taken in hundreds of disciples. I took the initiative to appear as a saint to accept them, but none of them could do this much."

Now, my second brother is merely sitting at home, yet such a disciple has delivered himself to his doorstep. I, the third brother, am truly envious. It seems that only Duobao and Yunxiao can barely compare.

Yuanshi Tianzun was overjoyed to receive praise and envy from his two brothers, and was extremely satisfied with Guangchengzi's performance. It was truly a stroke of good fortune!

However, he maintained a calm and composed demeanor, and commented in a nonchalant manner: "He has only a little talent, which is not bad, but we can't praise him too much and let him become arrogant. He is a rough gem that needs to be polished."
