Chapter 82 Crisis Moment
Looking at Guang Chengzi lying on the auspicious clouds of the heavens, the illusory figure of Zhunti Daoist also gradually focused, clearly projecting his true form here, intending to act solemnly.
Even the Guide Daoist did the same, beginning to restrain his magical power and behaving with extreme solemnity.
"Guang Chengzi is far too audacious. He actually dared to use something like the Heavenly Blood Stone to forge weapons. And to make matters worse, he didn't use anyone else's Heavenly Blood, but instead used Shen Ni's Heavenly Blood. Isn't that just inviting Shen Ni to possess him for nothing? If it weren't for us being there, he probably would have fallen victim to it."
After saying this, Daoist Zhunti raised the Seven Treasures Tree in his hand again and struck Guang Chengzi's forehead with force. This tree was shaped like a tiny Bodhi tree, with lush green leaves, and was constantly spreading the aura of wisdom.
Only on the branches and buds are inlaid extremely dazzling gemstones, faintly visible, exuding a precious aura, namely gold, silver, jade, pearl, glass, giant clam shell, and agate, the seven treasures.
These seven precious jewels brought a strong sense of wealth and luxury to the magical tree, suppressing its aura of wisdom. However, this did not make the magical tree fall into the mortal world; on the contrary, it added a touch of profound meaning to it.
Even the most delicate lotus needs the nourishment of mud; without mud, the lotus is not so noble.
It is precisely because of the existence of these jewels that the power of the Seven Treasures Tree to impart wisdom is even stronger, just as it is said to rise from the mud unsullied and remain pure and unblemished.
When Daoist Zhunti personally raised the Seven Treasures Tree and struck Guangchengzi, it was a truly powerful wake-up call.
A myriad of Buddha lights, accompanied by seven kinds of pearly brilliance, burst forth. In a trance, one could see countless celestial beings in the void, hands clasped together, chanting countless Buddhist scriptures with blissful expressions, continuously saving sentient beings trapped in mourning.
All beings suffer, and the mortal world is like a prison. Reciting the Buddha's name brings instant bliss.
The idea that life is inherently bitter, that we must experience all the flavors of life, is nothing but self-deprecating comfort. If happiness were possible, who wouldn't want it? Who wouldn't want joy?
It's just that it's impossible to do.
It is precisely because we cannot do it that we comfort ourselves by saying that this is the experience of life, and we must taste all the flavors of life. That is all nonsense!
The so-called cultivation is for the purpose of eternal happiness, joy, freedom, and ease. If this is not possible, if it cannot be achieved, then why cultivate? Why be happy?
The Daoist Zhunti clearly created a paradise based on this philosophy, in which all suffering will disappear, all happiness will be realized, all beings are happy, and all living beings are joyful.
This joy and happiness is not an emotion forcibly instilled like a zombie, but genuine happiness, a joy and happiness that all beings recognize from the bottom of their hearts.
Why are people happy? It's because their desires are fulfilled.
A glass of water brings happiness when you're thirsty, and a bite of food brings happiness when you're hungry, but such happiness is fleeting, and once satisfied, there will only be more desires.
After drinking dirty water, one craves clean water; after drinking clean water, one craves fine wine; after drinking fine wine, one craves fine spirits; and after drinking fine spirits, one begins to crave nectar and dew. Desires never cease, which is why it is said that greed is insatiable, like a snake trying to swallow an elephant or someone who cannot eat the moon.
In the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, all desires are fulfilled. Since desires are satisfied at all times, it is equivalent to feeling happiness at all times, and this is the true meaning of the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
After being personally struck on the head by the Daoist Zhunti, Guang Chengzi felt as if he had fallen into a strange state, in which he seemed to truly feel the vast and unknowable world of ultimate bliss.
As Guang Chengzi's consciousness was completely severed, Zhunti Daoist, with his sharp eyes and quick hands, immediately shouted, "Senior Brother, act quickly!"
Jieyin immediately took out a precious banner, which had twelve layers. At the very top was a twelve-colored relic, which emitted thousands of layers of glazed Buddhist light, enveloping downwards and, like silken vines, burrowing into Guangchengzi's body, beginning to carefully examine every inch, every strand, and every hair of his flesh.
When this glazed Buddhist light spread to Guang Chengzi's lower dantian, a phantom was forced out and flew directly upwards, but it was still affected by the glazed Buddhist light and most of its body was destroyed.
However, the phantom was extremely fast and possessed an unimaginable agility and cunning. It instantly split into countless smaller, dim starlight points, igniting fires everywhere and even beginning to explode the foundation within Guang Chengzi's body.
Left with no other choice, the Guide Daoist could only use the Guide Treasure Banner to stabilize Guang Chengzi's foundation; otherwise, if Guang Chengzi were to perish here, the Primordial Heavenly Venerable would surely fight them to the death.
Having escaped the entanglement of these glazed Buddhist lights, several dim starlight rushed towards Guang Chengzi, clearly intending to possess his body and revive him, to start over, or even to pick up the scattered power of the past.
Just as the illusory eye was about to pierce into Guang Chengzi's head, Zhunti Daoist's expression changed slightly. He was about to raise the Seven Treasures Tree in his hand when he suddenly looked behind him.
There was nothing here, but in the eyes of the Daoist Zhunti, the few remaining veins of Mount Sumeru had been mostly destroyed by some inexplicable force.
These forces even began to surge upwards, attempting to overturn the entire Mount Sumeru.
"Fine! Fine! You rebellious god, I originally thought that since you were once the King of the Underworld, you had some merit, I didn't really intend to kill you. I just captured you, taught you a lesson, and let you go. But now you dare to destroy Mount Sumeru. You have some nerve! You are not worthy of being saved. Just die!"
Even the good-tempered Zhunti Daoist couldn't hold back. You must know why those two brothers stayed in the West.
The goal is to restore the West to its former glory!
For this goal, they are willing to give up everything and abandon all, but Shenni's current actions have thoroughly angered them.
However, it must be said that Shenni's move really hit the nail on the head. They are willing to give up everything for the West, including themselves and Guangchengzi.
Now, Daoist Zhunti is caught in this dilemma: if he steps forward to save Mount Sumeru, he cannot stop the gods from taking over Guangchengzi's body; if he steps back to protect Guangchengzi, he cannot protect Mount Sumeru from harm.
What should I do?
But hesitating any longer would not lead to anything, and in the end, he would only lose both his money and his people. After much internal struggle, Zhunti Daoist immediately turned around and headed straight for Mount Sumeru.
In the blink of an eye, Zhunti Daoist completely dispelled the inexplicable power and immediately turned around to kill Shen Ni.
But it was all too late.
Shen Ni's sudden attack was clearly anticipated. At that time, the Guide Daoist was in control of the Guide Treasure Banner, and the Zhunti Daoist was protecting Mount Sumeru. In that split second, a star had already merged into Guang Chengzi's soul.
