Chapter 23

discusses Mia's law.

Chapter 23: Mia's Legal Talk (Please add to your favorites and read on!)

Only Alphonse knew what was going on. This fatso wouldn't easily agree to a grace period. To be honest with him, it was definitely impossible to resolve.

However, there are unconventional methods.

This method is the "Soul-Capturing Technique" that Alphonse is currently using.

Demonic Sect, bah! The ultimate technique of the Heavenly Demon Sect among the Seven Lineages of the Holy Sect!

Due to his shallow skill, even if he focused his eyes, it would be difficult to achieve results in one fell swoop. He could only add words and guidance to gradually bewitch the fat man's mind without him realizing it.

If the former Heavenly Demon Sect Master were to personally come, he would probably have to kneel down and lick the fat man's shoes with just a glance.

"I believe you have a kind heart, sir, and will agree to give us another month. Next month, I will be willing to repay you with interest."

"I will be merciful next month."

The fat man muttered to himself.

Just then, a white figure burst into the reception room like a gust of wind.

"Where's your invitation? Show me the invitation!"

Because of the high pitch, the speech became somewhat shrill.

It was Mia who arrived unexpectedly.

broken!

The spell was interrupted!

Alphonse thought everything was going smoothly and was about to continue speaking and guiding the conversation when Mia suddenly rushed in and shouted.

Immediately, the fat man and his bodyguard seemed to wake up from a dream, turning their heads to look at Mia with some confusion.

"What... an invitation?"

Mia's expression turned icy as she glared fiercely at the fat man. "According to Article 14, Section 7 of the Kingdom's Noble Law, as a vassal of the King, any nobleman has the right to defend his rights. Anyone who enters a nobleman's residence without an invitation will be considered to have trespassed!"

"What did you say? I've never heard of such a regulation!" the fat man exclaimed.

"Our lord is out today and hasn't returned yet, and you've already trespassed into the Baron's manor, violating this law!"

Mia had no intention of explaining herself to him. With a clang, she drew her sword. "As a knight of the Baron's mansion, I have the right to punish you!"

He raised his longsword, pointing it at the fat man, "You two, each leave behind an arm!"

Seeing the sword in her hand pointed at his master, the bodyguard hurriedly drew his sword, but before he could get close, Mia flipped her hand and sent him flying backward with a sword strike from afar.

With a "thud," it crashed into the wall and rolled to the ground.

He's unleashing his fighting spirit! Tsk!

Alphonse could tell that Mia had held back; otherwise, she would have unleashed a crescent-shaped aura slash.

Seeing that Mia was serious, the fat man panicked, breaking out in a cold sweat. Forgetting about right or wrong, he looked tremblingly at Alphonse, "Lord...Lord, I'm willing to wait another month, please...please spare me this time."

"You should have said so earlier," Alphonse said with a smile to Mia. "Let's just forget about it."

Mia then sheathed her sword, but still stared coldly at the fat man.

Given the situation, the fat man dared not linger any longer and stumbled out of the reception room with his bodyguard, who had just gotten up.

After running a short distance, he turned back and yelled, "Are you all crazy?! You just wait! This isn't over! Do you know who's behind me? It's Lord Count Auster!"

"Want to die?" Mia raised an eyebrow and placed her hand on the hilt of her sword again.

The fat man was startled and dared not say anything more. He didn't dare to turn around and hurriedly fled.

Captain Simon gave a wry smile. "He's right. Count Auster has a stake in his loan sharking business, so we don't want to offend him."

Mia snorted coldly. She had rushed over because she had just heard Alphonse pleading in a low voice.

"This is the only option we can have for now. If he comes back again, it will probably be troublesome."

"It's alright, we'll have a solution next month." Alphonse waved his hand. "Anyway, the outcome is good."

Although the spell was interrupted, Mia only did it out of good intentions, so there's no need to dwell on it; the outcome will be pretty much the same anyway.

"Is there a way next month? What way?" Captain Simon asked in confusion, unaware that Alphonse had taken Mia to Ryan City to sell the cream recipe.

"I got a formula and sold it to the city's chamber of commerce for some money. I'll get a share next month," Alphonse explained with a smile. Captain Simon was loyal enough that there was no need to hide anything from him, but there was no need to go into too much detail either.

"You're overthinking it. The Foxrods Chamber of Commerce still needs promotion and publicity, and it's uncertain how much money they'll bring in next month's settlement." Mia was still somewhat worried.

"We'll see when they get here. We'll figure out a way to deal with it." Alphonse shrugged nonchalantly.

If it weren't for Mia's interference, the Soul-Seizing Technique would have succeeded long ago. Not only would I not have had to pay back the money, but I might even have been able to extort a fortune from that fatso.

Mia snorted coldly and stopped talking.

But Alphonse, determined to tease her, chuckled and asked, "Is there really a law that punishes unauthorized entry into a noble's residence?"

"Yes, there is." Mia gave an affirmative answer.

Alphonse then realized that Mia hadn't just made up a law to scare people.

The late Baron Tartarus probably didn't know about this, and judging from Captain Simon's bewildered expression, he probably didn't understand this noble law either, let alone his predecessor, that good-for-nothing rascal.

Mia has quite a wide range of knowledge.

If we can wait until next month, when the fat man comes again, things will be different.

My money isn't something you can just take easily. Sooner or later I'll teach him what it means to be a member of the evil cult—I mean, the holy cult—and to do things by any means necessary!

Having made up his mind, Alphonse instructed Mia, "Mia, go and report to your mother that the creditor's matter has been resolved. Tell her not to worry. After dinner, if there's nothing else, go and rest."

Mia nodded in agreement and turned to leave the living room.

Alphonse then turned to Captain Simon, "You've had a hard day, why don't you stay and have dinner with us?"

Captain Simon nodded hurriedly, "Yes, thank you, young master."

As soon as Alphonse stepped outside, he saw Tessie standing there with a goofy look on her face.

He casually patted him on the shoulder, "Come on, let's go eat."

Bound by the slave contract, Tessie obeyed without question. However, when Captain Simon asked a few more questions and learned that Tessie was a newly acquired slave of Alphonse, he stopped asking.

Mia returned, and Captain Simon's wife no longer needed to accompany the Baroness. Alphonse had dinner with the couple, saw them out, and then had a maid prepare a room for Tessie and the coachman.

The coachman had dinner with several maids, and since it was too late, he didn't dare go back to Ryan City alone, so they arranged for him to stay in a guest room for the night.

Even with such treatment, the coachman felt flattered. How could a nobleman be so polite to a commoner? He had originally planned to go outside to find an inn.
