Chapter 26

Beautiful Waves

Chapter 26 Beautiful Waves

The tall, brown horse was fitted with a specially made saddle, and the weight of two people on its back made it slightly uneasy. Martin comforted the horse while also holding the female supporting actress tightly in his arms.

Catherine has striking blonde hair; as the second female lead in a film, her looks and figure must be exceptional.

"Won't I fall?" she asked softly.

Martin reassured him, "Don't worry, I'm a top-notch rider."

Director Benjamin shouted, "Martin, is it okay?"

Martin gave him a thumbs up: "No problem."

With the director's command, filming officially began.

The main focus is on filming a panoramic and beautiful shot of the two characters riding together on a single horse.

After filming several takes intermittently, we resumed shooting with makeup touch-ups. Martin maintained a steady trot on the horse, instantly elevating the artistic atmosphere of the set to a level comparable to Cannes and Venice.

Benjamin's artistic circus is far more than that.

A prop horse was brought onto the set, and Martin and Catherine switched from a real horse to a fake one.

The fake horse gallops, and people ride it.

Martin had gone to great lengths to secure the role, and he was determined to finish it, even with tears in his eyes.

They rode the horse back and forth, stopping and starting, many times. Martin, being strong and healthy, was fine, but Catherine was almost nauseous from the jolting.

Filming is finally complete.

Benjamin was noticeably warmer towards Martin today than yesterday, and came over to ask, "How is it?"

Martin seized the opportunity to exclaim, "Director, you're a genius! You even designed Ma Zhen! Moviegoers will worship you and call you God!"

"Artists, what's serious about it?" Benjamin chuckled, twitching his beard. "Are you worshipping me for finding a good actor?"

Martin joked in a serious tone, "Director, I'm now your idol. My adoration for you is enough to set the earth on fire."

"To protect all of humanity, I'm going to do something meaningful to prevent you from messing with Earth." Benjamin casually handed him a business card: "This is my classmate from Savannah College of Art. She's currently a director, producer, and actress in the Holy Valley. You can give her a call if you're interested."

Martin said he didn't know him and said helplessly, "Director, I'm an actor, a proper actor."

The circus is a very serious show, beautiful, romantic, and full of artistic flair. Anyone who makes wild associations with it must be mentally unstable and should immediately commit suicide.

In the other rest area, the male protagonist, Adam Smith, was holding a newspaper from last week, looking at the news about the conflict between the Freedom Society and the Methodist Society.

One of the photos shows Martin Davis of Wild Beasts being interviewed by reporters.

Adam Smith had a bad feeling: Is this really someone who's content to be a minor character? To rise to the top, you either need someone behind you or someone in front of you.

When he saw the door of the makeup trailer open and Martin, who had finished removing his makeup, come over, he stood up and took two steps forward: "Hello, Martin, that was a wonderful performance."

"Thank you." Martin smiled politely. "I saw your performance yesterday; your acting was superb, and you were incredibly charming."

Adam Smith said, "It's just that I've done a lot of filming, so I have more experience."

Martin replied, "Experience and talent are essential in this line of work."

Adam Smith added, "I've started an actors' club in Atlanta. If you want to join, just give me a written application, and we'll discuss acting together in the future."

Martin understood the implication and said with a smile, "After we finish this film."

Adam Smith nodded slightly and said no more.

Martin met up with Robert, who was waiting at the rest area.

Robert returned the holster and a few other items to Martin, saying, "You guys practically have hypocrisy written all over your faces."

Martin walked toward the crew's temporary finance office: "It's not that simple. Adam Smith is implying that I should follow him and become his henchman."

Robert caught up: "He's the male lead."

Martin, also wanting to play the lead role, deliberately asked Robert, "Is there a good way to get me the lead role in the next Gray Company film?"

"Damn it, how could I possibly do that? I'm just an extra!" Robert was dumbfounded. "I can't even get a single line right."

Martin looked around to make sure no one was nearby before saying, "You took care of that idiot so easily yesterday!"

Robert looked up at the sky speechlessly, then reiterated, "That's his stupidity, it has nothing to do with me, I swear! Martin, you have to believe me! You absolutely have to believe me!"

Martin casually replied, "No need to swear, I believe you, I believe you, okay?"

After signing for and receiving his pay in the finance office, Martin had finished filming all his scenes and could leave the set on his own.

Before leaving, he chatted with Andrew for a while.

Andrew was in an exceptionally good mood.

He received a raise at Gray Company and was also granted an allowance from the Freedom Society as an external employee.

After filming the movie, their relationship progressed further, and Andrew took the initiative to tell them some important news.

"A Hollywood film crew has passed the state government's tax refund review and will be moving from Los Angeles to Atlanta next month to film the remaining scenes." He got the information from Kelly Gray's assistant, Ira: "A big-budget production with a budget of $2000 million, starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet."

Martin had heard Jerome mention this before, and asked, "Are you sure?"

Andrew knew much more than Martin: "One of the production managers on the set, who is also one of the investors, is a friend of the boss in Los Angeles. The company will work with them to assist with their filming in Atlanta."

Martin understood what he meant: "Are they casting in Atlanta for some of the roles?"

Andrew nodded: "They left Los Angeles not only because of the tax refund, but also because of the cheap labor and state subsidies in Atlanta."

Martin invited Kelly Gray for drinks last time, and she mentioned her friends in Los Angeles. Could this be it?

After saying goodbye to Andrew, Martin left the film crew's residence and called Jerome at the door. After waiting for him, he took out the $200 he had prepared: "Captain, here's the rest of the membership fee."

Jerome put it away and said, "There aren't many people like you who repay their debts on time."

Martin said, "My character has always been impeccable."

Jerome agreed: "Some people who call themselves friends disappear after owing money."

Martin had also encountered this: "Scumbags like this should be sent to the South Side and handed over to the black guys!"

Jerome packed up the money and prepared to leave, not forgetting to remind him, "Next month's dues are due soon. You've made quite a bit this time, so you shouldn't be late with your payments, right?"

Although he got to know Benjamin, Kelly Gray, and Andrew, it also proved that Jerome was indeed well-informed, and Martin didn't want to give up on him at this stage: "No problem."

Back in Atlanta, Martin went to work at the club on time every evening.

Vincent is going out tonight and has asked Bruce to keep an eye on the place.

Vincent left the club and drove alone out of Atlanta to Savannah in the east.

This is Georgia's largest port city.

Vincent encountered an unusually large woman at a private club.

"Sophia, is there something you can't say over the phone?" Vincent sat opposite the woman.

"Telephone isn't safe." Sophia cut to the chase without any preamble: "Your business has been booming lately, with a surge in customers. How much more revenue are you making each week?"

Vincent thought for a moment and said, "25 US dollars."

Most customers at Wild Beast House pay in cash, and with a large flow of customers and staff coming and going, accounting is relatively easy.

Sofia said, "40 US dollars."

Vincent was embarrassed: "I'll try my best."

This necessitates further increasing customer traffic.

But it is very necessary.

The club was completely under his control. Vincent trusted himself more than other channels, at least his share wouldn't have any problems.
