Chapter 98
My Sister is a Big Star
Chapter 98 My Sister is a Big Star
The main cast and crew were all present for their routine script reading session at the start of the new week, which also served as a meet-and-greet for the cast and crew.
For promotional purposes, Warner Bros. specifically chose to hold the reading session at Warner Bros. Studios headquarters in Burbank.
When Bruce drove Martin over, there were more than a dozen reporters gathered at the entrance, all of whom focused their cameras on Eliza Cuthbert and Paris Hilton.
They were filmed from the moment they got out of the car until they entered the Warner Bros. studio.
Martin prepared to get out of the car: "How many reporters will be paying attention to me?"
Bruce, with perfect understanding, opened the armrest box: "Buddy, I brought your special weapon for attracting attention."
He pulled out a large pink water bottle: "Take this, shout that you're the male lead in the film, and then take a big gulp of water. They'll definitely film you."
"Thanks!" Martin didn't answer.
He noticed that Paris Hilton was followed by a handbag carrier. Although she wasn't as big as she was in his previous life, her size was still astonishing, accentuated by her tight jeans.
Scarlett Johansson's butt looks tiny compared to Kim Kardashian's.
Martin reminded his good friend, "Old Brooks, watch the door."
Bruce had already seen it, and was so engrossed in watching it that he kept hitting his head with the top of the kettle, exclaiming, "Absolutely amazing!"
He asked Martin, "Is she an actress too?"
Martin stated truthfully, "She should be Paris Hilton's sidekick."
"Great! Excellent!" Bruce's enthusiasm was fully mobilized: "I want to join the film crew, I want to go to Australia with you."
Martin got out of the car and arrived at the entrance of the film company.
Several reporters had seen Martin's photo in the production crew's announcements and snapped photos of him.
Upon entering the office building lobby, Martin quickly found the conference room, where three unfamiliar male actors, along with Paris and Eliza, were sitting.
They didn't talk to each other; they were just looking at the script.
Martin walked over to Eliza, pulled out a chair, sat down, picked up the script from the conference table, and greeted her, "Hello, twin sister."
Eliza turned her head and saw that the newcomer was handsome and pleasing to the eye. After a moment's thought, she asked, "Are you my twin brother?"
Martin introduced himself: "Martin Davis."
Eliza responded, "Eliza Cuthbert." She looked Martin up and down carefully. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before."
Martin reacted incredibly quickly: "Have you been to Atlanta, or seen 'Zombie Gigolo'?"
Eliza suddenly remembered, her mouth slightly agape in surprise: "Zombie machine gun dance!"
Martin laughed: "Then it must be me."
Eliza was very curious: "I often go online and have seen the video of your fan meeting, but some people say the video was edited in post-production?"
Martin said earnestly, "No, I can guarantee that."
"That's amazing!" Eliza said shyly, "Um... I might be being a little presumptuous."
Martin, who was he? He quickly built a rapport with her: "You're my sister. It's only natural for a sister to make requests of her brother."
Eliza said, "Is there a chance to see this dance live? You might not know, but the zombie machine gun dance is very popular in some nightclubs now."
Martin said, "When my sister makes a request, I have to fulfill it." He leaned closer, mysteriously adding, "Let me tell you a secret: I'm a total sister-obsessed dad."
Eliza openly sized up Martin once again. He had a great physique and a handsome face. She said, "Brother, it's a deal."
"Hey buddy, is this the place? Thanks." A slightly loud voice came from the conference room doorway. Menez, a Black man whose skin was almost completely washed white, entered. He immediately spotted Martin, unable to hide his surprise, and strode over: "Hey kid, what are you doing here? Are you part of the crew too?"
Martin was equally surprised and pointed to the other seat: "Sit down and let's talk."
Menez recognized Melissa and was even more surprised to see how familiar she was with Martin. He pointed at Melissa and asked, "Are you her brother?"
Martin winked at Eliza on purpose: "Eliza and I are the most compatible twins in the world."
"Whose connections did you use? Tell me." Menez, thinking of something, turned from not-so-dark-skinned to a gorilla-like expression: "You know how I got this role..."
Martin interrupted him: "Dude, we need to work together properly this time."
Menez immediately realized that some things were not appropriate to say now: "Yes, yes! Let's cooperate well."
More cast and crew members came in, including director Jaume Collet-Serra, whom Martin had tried to meet several times but had failed.
This is a Spanish director who is at most 30 years old.
Although he was only the on-set shooting director in the project, Martin still had Thomas collect a lot of information about him.
After Adrian arrived, he sat across the long conference table from Martin, occasionally smiling at Martin with the same bright and sunny smile as before.
It was as if Martin's best buddy was specifically watching his butt.
Martin smiled back at him, like a carefree fool.
But there's a feeling that Adrian is like a venomous snake, and yet he's the one Susan chose.
Martin knew he didn't have the power to bully Adrian.
As he spoke quietly to Eliza, his mind raced.
With Susan's arrival, the script reading officially began.
This is a Hollywood tradition because many actors from ordinary backgrounds may not even be able to read the script, let alone understand the character and the theme of the script.
So-called reading disorders are not uncommon among people who have received a joyful education.
The script for "House of Wax" is a typical example of something simple and mindless. Forget about being amazing or anything like that. If it hadn't been developed from scratch, it probably wouldn't have been even glanced at by anyone in the script libraries of many Hollywood companies for many years.
Eliza's leading role is the only one that stands out, followed by Martin's portrayal of Nick, the twin brother.
The climax of the script is the wax museum showdown between the twins.
The reading session ended close to the end of the workday.
Susan came in a hurry and left in a hurry.
Director Jaume Collet-Serra showed no interest in speaking with the actors and simply left the meeting room.
Martin took out his phone: "If you don't mind, shall we take a picture together? I'm thinking of updating my blog when I get back; I've already thought of a name."
"Taking photos is no problem," Eliza said without hesitation, then asked, "What's your name?"
Martin said in a serious tone, "How about this headline: My sister is a big star?"
Elizabeth took it seriously: "Your blog address?"
Fortunately, Martin wasn't making this up; he had actually created a blog and updated it a few times recently. He immediately left his address.
Martin handed his phone to Menez and asked him to take a picture of him with Eliza.
Before leaving, Eliza added, "Your little sister will check your brother's homework."
Martin's face seemed to adjust automatically, instantly falling flat: "What do we do if my brother is a terrible student?"
Eliza walked away with a smile.
Menez handed Martin his phone back, saying, "Dude, you're really good at picking up girls."
Martin glanced at the group photo, put away his phone, and walked out: "We're just like siblings, exchanging feelings normally."
As the two emerged from the Warner Bros. building, they found reporters surrounding Elizabeth and Paris.
Menezes said enviously, "When will I be surrounded by the spotlight?"
"Your character is Paris Hilton's boyfriend, right?" Martin had just reviewed the script. "Once you get her, countless tabloid reporters will be with you 24/7."
Menez considered it seriously: "I don't mind the videotape, really." He had been holding back his words, but he couldn't hold them back any longer: "To get this role, I even fawned over women in their fifties."
Martin had a vague idea; it might be casting director Mary Gale: "The one you mentioned last time?"
"Yes, it's her." Even someone as optimistic as Menez seemed to cry when she mentioned this: "Last time I thought you didn't have any connections, so I asked you but you didn't go. She's very adept at playing the field and she's very demanding, so I didn't dare to look for other actors I wasn't familiar with."
Martin understood: "Did they come from behind and steal your role?"
Accompanying older women is a skill, and you also have to be wary of other people.
Menne nodded: "I borrowed some money and went to another city to hire a male escort to fulfill her request for a two-on-one service. It was really difficult."
Martin casually offered a word of comfort: "At least we got our reward."
"I was going to buy you a drink, but my pockets are empty and my back is killing me." Mene wiggled his hips. "We'll talk again when we get to Australia."
Martin nodded, went to his car, and found that Bruce was not there.
Five minutes later, Bruce returned from a distance, brought his flip phone to his lips, and...
Martin, not wanting to be offended, turned his head to look in the other direction.
Before I could even update "My Sister is a Big Star," the news broke that my follower is a pervert. What should I do?
Bruce came over and waved his phone: "I got a picture, look at it, absolutely stunning, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Janssen are dead."
Martin was about to take the phone when he pulled his hand back and took out a tissue from his pocket: "Wipe yourself first."
He cautioned, "Old Bu, this phone costs several hundred dollars, and it's not very waterproof. Don't you dare soak it in water!"
Bruce wiped the screen clean and handed the phone to Martin: "Do you know her name?"
Martin noticed that Bruce had taken more than one photo, all of them taken secretly from behind, and said, "His name is Kim Kardashian, a very scheming woman."
"Kim Kardashian." Bruce remembered the name.
Martin opened the car door: "Come on, let's find a place to eat and have a drink, then go back and pack our bags. Australia is waiting for us."
After dinner, they deliberately chose Avalon, a nightclub frequented by Hollywood stars. The two were drinking on the first floor when women kept coming over to harass Martin, clearly with ulterior motives.
Martin and Bruce had no choice but to go up to the second floor.
Sitting in a window seat on the second floor, it was finally much quieter.
The two didn't drink much, and Old Brooks's obsessive topic kept revolving around Kim Kardashian. Around nine o'clock, as he was about to leave, he knocked on the window: "Look across the street, is that your good friend from work?"
Across from Avalon is another famous nightclub called Grapevine Manor.
Right outside the nightclub, Adrian, clearly drunk, was about to get into a fight. His face was filled with a murderous ruthlessness, and even his fat henchman Tony couldn't stop him.
Martin, of course, wouldn't concern himself with such matters. He called Old Brooks back; there was still "My Sister is a Superstar" to be updated.
