Chapter 44

is particularly fancy.

Chapter 44 is particularly fancy.

Atlanta in the summer isn't particularly hot, but Peachtree Street was incredibly lively that day, with thousands of people dressed in matching outfits heading towards the Georgia State Building.

Along the way, the APDs were on high alert.

Hundreds of media reporters were thrilled.

Having received the news early on, the various television stations brought their broadcast trucks over in the early hours of the morning.

The slogans chanted by the crowd resonated deeply: "My life, my rules!"

What's more eye-catching than the slogan is the pink water bottle in her hand.

Its realistic design, flamboyant style, exaggerated size, and unique uses created a sensation.

CNN, headquartered in Atlanta, broadcast the news live, and the footage was shown across the United States.

When Senator Erica and seven or eight thousand others collectively drank water from jugs, then raised the jugs and shouted "I am in charge of my life," not only were the media reporters and conservatives at the scene stunned, but television viewers across the United States were also blown away.

Georgia is crazy.

Senator Erica climbed onto the platform, clutching a pink water bottle, and shouted, "We're not holding a water bottle, we're holding freedom!"

She put the straw in her mouth, took a sip: "We're not drinking water, we're enjoying the freedom we're born with!"

Perhaps it was used last night, or perhaps the straw wasn't attached securely; the straw fell to the ground with a thud.

The water bottle without a straw is even more appealing.

All the camera lenses turned to Senator Erica, giving her long close-ups.

In politics, one has long since abandoned all pretense of decency. Erica felt that today would create a sensation across the United States. She gripped the kettle tightly with one hand as if holding a lover, and made a victory sign with the other.

What does it matter as long as it increases exposure and influence?

Kelly Gray stood behind Representative Erica, accompanying President Julia, as she took the stage for the first time at a major Georgia event.

Senator Erica stepped back from the front and stood next to Julia, nodding to Kelly Gray: "You did a good job."

Kelly quickly replied, "I'll do my part."

Looking down from above, the media reporters were like madmen. Erica was very satisfied with the results of the event: "Julia, the person who devised the plan, should be rewarded in the name of the Freedom Society."

This is a money-driven society, and money is the best incentive.

Julia nodded and said softly, "Kelly, you draft the list and the plan."

In the past, this was the responsibility of the vice president. Kelly Gray was overjoyed: "I will come up with a plan as soon as the event is over."

She craned her neck to search through the crowd, but despite the presence of many men, she couldn't find Martin at all.

There were too many people, and the Wild Beasts House flag was barely noticeable; the water bottles stole all the limelight.

Hart gripped the kettle, slid it down and pulled it up, saying, "What idiot came up with this kettle? It's fucking cheap."

He asked Martin, "Dad Martin, that idiot didn't design it based on himself, did he? That's too much; he could rival you."

Martin warned, "Son, if you keep talking nonsense, I'll send you to Thailand."

The gathering continued until noon, when the crowd gradually dispersed.

The streets were filled with people carrying pink water bottles, creating a beautiful scene.

If anyone questions it, someone will immediately retort – what we're holding isn't a water bottle, it's freedom!

…………

Los Angeles, LA Freedom Association headquarters.

After watching CNN finish its live news broadcast from Atlanta, Chairwoman Caroline made a phone call: "Louise, did the Georgians organize this event themselves?"

"Yeah, it's really interesting, isn't it? It's so much fun."

"Those old-fashioned, rigid Georgians actually managed to come up with something like this." Caroline didn't quite understand. "They're even more avant-garde than us. I can't comprehend it."

Louise said, "ATL Freedom Club produced a genius who's incredibly creative. He designed that water bottle and the slogan."

Caroline considered for a moment: "He should come to Los Angeles; we are the ones at the forefront of the world."

Louise hung up the phone, and the car door opened. Kelly Gray ducked and got into the car.

She grabbed Louise's arm, her voice trembling with excitement: "Consul Erica and President Julia will nominate me as vice president."

Louise reclined in her chair: "Is it really necessary to be so excited?"

Kelly loosened her grip: "Although my family has some resources, they are all invested in my two older brothers. I can only run a small company that doesn't even dare to make theatrical films."

Louise asked deliberately, "How do you plan to thank Martin?"

Kelly laughed: "He loves acting and wanted to make money to escape his slump, so I gave him the opportunity. Of course, on the condition that I made more money."

Louise playfully lifted her chin: "I thought you slept with him."

"He's handsome, has a likable personality, is sensible and funny, and is multi-talented, surpassing many of his peers from wealthy backgrounds." Women often exaggerate more when talking privately than men. Kelly picked up the pink water bottle, took a deep sip of water, and said, "As far as I know, he modeled this thing after himself."

Louise couldn't help but laugh. "What an interesting person." She grabbed the kettle with both hands. "Have you ever used it? Is it any good? Is it just for show? Is it really that amazing?"

Kelly ignored the scoundrel's lewd talk and sighed, "It's a pity he came from such a poor background. There aren't many talented people like him among the poor."

Louise recalled yesterday: "Yeah, his acting was alright, especially that scene yesterday, it was above average."

Kelly said, "Actually, his greatest talent isn't acting."

"I know." Louise picked up the kettle and poked Kelly's face. "This."

Kelly snatched it back: "I'm just kidding. He's a master bartender. Remember the paper airplane I mentioned?"

Louise had initially just found it amusing, but upon hearing about the cocktail she'd never tried before, she immediately sat up straight and said, "Call him, call him right now."

She slapped her forehead again: "Damn it, I have important work this afternoon. I can't get drunk. It's better not to drink at all than not to get drunk."

Kelly said, "A drunkard!"

Once a drunkard's craving for alcohol is aroused, it's hard to suppress. Louise said, "Call him and ask if he's free tonight. I'll pay him by the hour."

…………

In the afternoon, Martin received a call from Kelly and went to the Freedom Society headquarters.

The Freedom Society's council held a small meeting and, in recognition of Martin and others' outstanding performance in this event, awarded them special certificates of honor and a $5000 bonus.

For Martin right now, cash incentives are the most motivating thing.

Martin followed Kelly Gray into her office and asked, "You seem to be in a good mood. Is something good happening?"

Kelly Gray's eyebrows practically reached the sky: "Vice Chairman, it's basically confirmed."

"Congratulations." Martin said as if it were an old friend. "Kelly, you have to treat us."

Kelly Gray said, "How about tonight? Louise's a drunkard, she can't wait after I told her about the paper airplane. Do you have time? Her suite has a wine cabinet, she can ask for more anytime she needs more."

She specifically reminded him, "If you want to be a star, Louise can help you."

Martin's smile was as bright and sunny as ever: "Kelly, I really don't know how to thank you."

Kelly joked, "When you become a big star, help me act in a movie."

The two chatted for a while longer, especially about Louise's taste in wine.

When Martin left the Liberty Club to go back to the club to get the wine that had been prepared in advance, he asked the owner, Vincent, for leave.

He's also considering that now that he has financial security, he can give up his part-time job at the Beast Bar.

Because he made money, his sons trusted him. This was fine for a short time, but what about in the long run?

What will Vincent think?
