Chapter 71

An old hand among old hands

Chapter 71 An old hand among old hands

"Go back to hell, you devil!"

Wearing a leather jacket, Jenner angrily retorted, "This is not a place for you!"

Facing the camera, Robert delivered his first lines: "The rotten church stinks worse than hell. Hunter, you've come to the wrong place. You should be exorcising demons in the church!"

He waved to Martin: "Kill her!"

Martin lunged off the stage, and Jenna drew her shotgun from her side and pulled the trigger.

Robert screamed and flew backward.

Benjamin then called for a stop, announcing that the scene was approved.

Robert climbed off the foam mat, somewhat excited, and asked, "How was my line? How was it?"

Martin came over and patted him on the shoulder: "Great job."

Robert beamed: "So this is what it's like to play a character with lines! It's amazing!"

Martin had experienced this before. He took off the claw gloves, handed them to the prop master, and went to rest. Robert still had several scenes to film.

Jenna had finished filming her last scene and approached Benjamin: "I'm planning to make a Saint Valley version of Zombie Dancer when I get back. You don't mind, do you?"

Benjamin said, "Who can stop your Holy Valley?"

"I'm going to talk to the male lead." Jenna went to a corner of the club lobby, pulled out a chair, and sat down opposite Martin. "That flying action scene was so breathtaking. I heard from the director that it originated from your idea?"

Martin remained honest: "I saw it on a videotape."

Jenner ignored the comment: "Atlanta's film and television industry is very backward. Someone as talented as you should go to Los Angeles to develop your career."

Martin thought for a moment and said, "Actually, I plan to go to Los Angeles before the end of the year."

Jenna misunderstood Martin's meaning: "Are you planning to go to the San Fernando Valley? Are you looking for a partner? Martin, I'm planning to start my own company, which will handle filming, DVD and video distribution, and website operation. If you come, I'll give you the best contract in the industry."

Martin quickly added, "I'm planning to go to Hollywood."

Jenna shook her head slightly: "Hollywood is too difficult. I started out as a model and worked on Hollywood film sets, but I couldn't find any opportunities. There are countless people with good looks like you and me among the lower-level actors in Hollywood."

She was particularly "real": "I don't want to say that Saint Gabriel is a backdoor to Hollywood, that's deception, but I can guarantee that with your acting skills and talent, as well as your excellent set design ability, you can win Best Actor in two years at most, and have a star on the West Hollywood Walk of Fame within three years."

Martin asked in surprise, "Walk of Fame?"

Jenna explained simply: "There's also a Walk of Fame in front of the Spiked Theatre in West Hollywood."

She didn't want to miss out on such a talented actor: "Don't underestimate Saint-Gobain. The industry generates hundreds of billions of dollars every year. You can become a leader in it, and becoming a millionaire is not a dream."

Martin said, "I'll think about it."

Jenna handed over a personal business card, her eyes suddenly sparkling: "Call me when you're coming, and I'll throw a welcome party in advance. I can invite a lot of people."

It's a blatant sugar-coated bullet!

Hearing these names, would Martin actually come out unscathed?

Jenner has finished filming on set.

Before she left, the crew gave her a gift—a water bottle.

When Jenna learned that the kettle was designed by Martin, she came over specifically and pulled a pen out of her bra: "Sign my name."

Martin didn't hesitate and signed his name on the water bottle.

Jenna left satisfied.

Martin discovered that he no longer had any worries about making his way in Hollywood, because he had plenty of options.

Even if they failed, there was a way out with the Holy Valley. Martin vaguely remembered that Jenna later became a billionaire.

There's also a circular stage; with his zombie machine gun dance, his life won't be bad.

At worst, Elena can always be a kept woman.

During the subsequent filming, Martin was in top form, full of energy, and when he put on a show, no one in the entire crew could rival him.

In his two scenes with the female lead, Catherine, a living, breathing, twisted demon descends upon the world.

A key characteristic of American movies is that the protagonist on the side of justice will always be captured by the main villain, and the villain will never kill the protagonist immediately.

On set, Catherine, wearing a tight-fitting short leather jacket, was tied to a wooden frame. One of the prop masters on the crew may have studied in Japan, as the technique was quite unique.

Martin rubbed his claws against the wall, then approached Catherine. His face wasn't contorted with malice, but his entire being radiated a twisted aura. His chilling words sent shivers down one's spine: "You'll end up like your sister, drained of all your essence, turned into a dried-up corpse!"

Catherine's roar carried a hint of weakness: "Demon, I'm not afraid of you, come on!"

"Cut!" Benjamin called for a halt, then shouted to Catherine, "You're going to provoke the demon now, make him attack, and then use your talent to absorb his essence, understand? You need to be brave and decisive enough, not weak."

Catherine gestured to Martin with her eyes: "Martin acted so well, he looked so much like a psychopath, it scared me."

Benjamin gestured to the prop master: "Release her and let her rest for twenty minutes."

Martin took the initiative to talk to Catherine, and the two whispered to each other, exchanging their views and insights on the characters.

Twenty minutes later, everything was ready, and filming resumed.

This is a B-movie with explicit content; the shots don't need to be edited to include metaphorical scenes like rain, blooming flowers, oil well eruptions, or trains entering tunnels.

Perhaps the male and female leads were in top form, or perhaps Benjamin wasn't too strict, or perhaps the budget wasn't actually sufficient, but the director never called "cut" until Martin roared in anger.

The male protagonist lost this primitive battle scene.

In the final battle, the male protagonist's strength plummeted after his essence was drained, while the female protagonist's combat power surged. They finally slew the demon and destroyed the vampire's lair.

However, the female protagonist carefully preserved the male protagonist's head as a memento of her demon-hunting career.

In the end, the male lead's head mysteriously disappears, while the female lead becomes pregnant.

The crew filmed for more than three weeks, setting a new record for the longest shoot for a single film since Benjamin began directing.

In the final scene, the female lead leads her team to massacre the zombie male dancer club, wiping out all the demons, including the hunky guys and the boss.
