Chapter 29

Civilized People Do Things

Chapter 29 Civilized People Do Things (Please continue reading)

In Bruce's living room, a dirty ceiling fan spun on the ceiling, making the posters of Scarlett Janssen and Jennifer Lopez flutter.

The poster was placed at an odd height; when an adult was standing, their chin was right in the middle of the poster.

The portraits of the two celebrities are damaged, and the wall color is visible below their waists and legs.

Before Martin could analyze the situation carefully, Bruce rushed out of the bedroom, his face flushed with unsatisfied desire, and muttered a curse under his breath: "You pervert, why did you come so early? Do you know how much effort I put into persuading Monica?"

Martin gave him the middle finger: "Watch your language!"

Bruce searched everywhere, yelling, "Where's my gun? I'm going to shoot you, you piece of shit, into a million pieces today!"

Martin said, "I have a cannon, do you want to lend it to me?"

The voluptuous Monica entered the living room and asked, "What are you all talking about?"

Bruce immediately changed his expression, scratching his face as he said, "It's work-related."

He took a newspaper out of the drawer and tossed it to Martin: "This is the Atlanta Star, Georgia's largest men's tabloid. The Star has been reporting on the conflict between the Methodists and the Libertarians ever since the protests in front of the state legislature. They've written a lot of short stories, and I heard it's been quite popular. Monica has a friend who's a freelance journalist and knows people at the Star."

Martin flipped through the newspaper and, sure enough, there was a related report.

They fabricate stories in a way that is difficult to put into law but is understandable to most people.

These tabloids are certainly not afraid of being sued; in fact, they would love to be sued by these well-known organizations.

Martin said to Monica, "Could you get in touch with a reporter for the Star News through your friend and do a story about the House of the Wild Beasts?"

Monica, remembering the check from last time, immediately replied, "I'll call and ask."

They gave a positive answer.

"When do we need it?" Monica asked.

Martin considered for a moment: "Wait two days, then I'll have Bruce call you, and I'll pay you after it's done."

"I was very satisfied with the payment last time," Monica smiled and said, "No rush."

In the evening, a female customer who went to the Wild Beasts Club for entertainment discovered that there was a promotion that day: the club was giving away free collar badges, and whoever wore the badge could get a free beer at the bar.

Most people are too lazy to take off the pin-button collar insignia once they put them on, and might only think about it when they take off their clothes.

Martin left the club at 9:30 p.m. and drove around Saijo Street, going into all the bars and nightclubs.

In every nightclub, you can see women wearing badges.

After they left the House of the Beasts, they did the same thing.

Martin has talked to many female customers while mixing drinks and has some understanding of this group.

He also spoke with several men.

The vast majority of them wanted to pick up a girl at a nightclub, preferably for free.

The rest are gay men.

…………

In the Black Bar, the owner, Boyette, stood on the second floor, his hands gripping the railing, watching waves of customers pour in through the entrance.

These women were wearing the same collar insignia, and he wondered, "Which organization are they from?"

The last time, the chaotic battle between the Methodist Church and the ATL Freedom Society left Boyette with a lingering fear; it was terrifying.

Since then, Boyette has been a pushover for several days when facing his wife Betty.

Diego, a middle-aged Latino man next to him, had been paying attention: "The Wild Beast House across the street is having an event, giving away badges and beer. They got hooked over there and are coming over here to entice people to spend more money."

Poyet watched for a while as the female customers ordered drinks and other items, helping the bar increase its revenue.

He asked, "Has this been going on for a long time?"

Diego said, "It all started when Beast House became a hit."

As time went on, women wearing collar insignia would occasionally enter the Black Bar. When Boyette was calm, his mind was clear: "The group of people from the House of the Beasts are in a hurry to find men. The closest nightclub to the House of the Beasts is our Black Bar. These women are particularly easy to pick up and can attract more men, bringing more customers to the bar."

Diego laughed: "We got some benefits too."

Boyetmo stroked his black chin, considering seriously: "Is there a good way to attract all the customers leaving the Beast House to our bar and generate revenue for us? Or, can we add more related content to attract more female customers?"

Diego said, "I'll think of something."

Two large-bottomed black women came downstairs, and Boyette's dark face blossomed into a chrysanthemum: "You think it over carefully, I'm going down to pick up a girl."

Diego could only watch his boss chase after girls while he struggled to find his own way.

He discovered that most of them didn't care about black or white.

Diego had an idea: to have the boss find a group of strong, young black men from the south of the city to set up in front of the bar.

…………

For three consecutive nights, Martin spent his time on Saijo Street and in the nearby bars and nightclubs.

Everything he saw, and everything he asked himself, proved that his idea was highly feasible.

Martin didn't hesitate any longer and went to his boss, Vincent.

Whether you succeed or fail, the income will be substantial.

Martin is a man who has experienced Ma Zhen and dares to confront the Earth.

Upon arriving at Vincent's office on the second floor, Martin said directly, "Boss, I've got an idea."

Vincent asked, "Can you increase customer traffic by a third?"

"Possibly." Martin didn't rule it out, but instead explained the situation: "The club mainly caters to female customers. Atlanta's security is generally poor, and women are worried about their safety at night. The number of people entering the club drops sharply after 10 p.m., especially after 10:30 p.m., while the number of people leaving increases."

Vincent knew all this, and slightly raised his cowboy hat: "After ten o'clock?"

"Yes," Martin added, "I've contacted the media, prepared to pay for coverage, and also need to prepare new club posters."

Having laid the foundation for success last time, Vincent had some confidence in Martin: "Go and ask Dana to write you a check."

After some time, Martin went to the finance office and asked Dana to write him a few checks.

…………

the next morning.

Martin contacted Bruce and asked him to get in touch with Monica, who then contacted an associate editor at the Atlanta Star through a friend who was a freelance journalist.

The two drove to the North District and went into a coffee shop.

Monica and her freelance journalist friend are waiting.

Martin asked a couple of questions, then took out two small-denomination checks and gave them to the two men respectively.

The club doesn't feel bad about spending money.

The freelance journalist made a phone call, and a dozen minutes later, Barkley, the deputy editor of the Atlanta Interstellar, arrived.

Monica and her companion left on their own.

Martin made a polite remark, then said directly, "Mr. Barkley, I need a report."

Barkley asked, "Do you have a draft?"

"Sorry, I can't write it." The previous generation's "happy education" program hadn't even finished; understanding books and newspapers was already a feat. Someone as dim-witted as Elena couldn't understand even slightly complex articles. Martin asked, "I'll give you the topic and the general content, and you write it?"

Barkley remained silent, slowly stirring his coffee with his right hand while gently pinching his left thumb and forefinger together twice.

"Your compensation will definitely satisfy you." Martin took a check out of his pocket and pushed it over.

Barkley glanced at the numbers and shook his head slightly.

Martin understood: "More money?"

Although I paid for it with club money, it was a really bad experience to have to take money out of my own pocket.

Martin pulled out another bill.

Barkley was satisfied and picked up the two checks: "Go ahead."

Martin kicked Bruce.

Bruce reacted immediately, pulling his coat back to reveal his gun holster.

"Sir, journalism is a noble profession, and I have high professional ethics!" Barkley saw through it all. As he put away the check, he swore, "You pay me, I'll do the job. You can rest assured."

Civilized people are just that reliable when they get things done.
