Chapter 43
The Death of Donald
Chapter 43 The Death of Donald
"Let you go?"
Logan pressed on, his voice cold: "Have you ever given me a chance before?"
He could have put away his steel claws, stopped killing, and become an Uber driver, a drunkard, and drifted at sea with the professor.
Yet these people repeatedly force themselves to resort to force again.
They brought this situation upon themselves!
"No, no, let me explain..."
Donald, his face filled with terror, collapsed to his knees and began kowtowing repeatedly to Logan. His head slammed against the bluestone floor with a dull thud, drawing blood.
He sensed the intense killing intent emanating from Logan, a chilling aura reminiscent of death itself.
This old wolf, which he once looked down upon, now possesses the strength to kill him at any moment!
The shadow of death loomed over him.
Boom!
A crimson beam of light shot out, easily piercing Donald's head and leaving a bloody hole. Blood and brain matter spilled out, covering his face, which still bore the marks of fear.
pat.
The stiff corpse collapsed to the ground with a thud, its pupils gradually dilating and flashing with disbelief.
Even now, Donald refuses to believe that he has died, at the hands of a mutant he considers lowly.
"Who will let me go?"
Logan looked down at the lifeless corpse and murmured in a low voice.
Gabriela cautiously carried Laura out and saw corpses scattered all over the ground, as if it were a dismemberment scene, with flowing blood almost covering the entire courtyard.
Her pupils contracted sharply, and she stared at Logan, speechless, her face filled with shock.
It's unbelievable that the elderly Logan still possesses such terrifying strength!
You saved Laura and Gabriella and killed Donald.

[Prestige +10]
Logan paid no attention to Gabriela behind him, focusing all his attention on the panel of new abilities.
Logan was slightly surprised by the sudden increase of twenty prestige points.
Is this the bonus brought by the clansmen?
Logan couldn't help but glance back at Laura, which only strengthened his resolve to find his people and build his own mutant force!
"Logan, did you do this?"
Gabriela looked surprised and walked up cautiously, tiptoeing as if afraid of getting blood and body parts on his shoes.
"Um."
Logan nodded silently, not wanting to explain further. He looked around and said, "We can talk about other things later. We need to get out of here quickly."
Dr. Rice will certainly not let Laura off easily, after all, he has worked for Project X his whole life in order to replicate the perfect Wolverine.
Now that Donald has been dealt with, an even fiercer pursuit is about to begin.
"Okay." Gabriela nodded, following Logan's instructions.
She knew that they couldn't stay in this place for long, as their pursuers could return at any moment.
The black Chrysler crashed into the hotel wall, its front end badly damaged and severely deformed.
Logan climbed into the car and turned the key to try to start it. Fortunately, the stubborn car engine roared, and the violent impact seemed to have had little effect, allowing it to continue driving normally.
After gesturing for Gabriela to get in the car, Logan quickly turned the car around and drove out of the hotel.
The intense gunfight had already terrified everyone around, and all the shops on the street had closed their doors, leaving the street empty and silent.
Before the cops arrived, Logan floored the accelerator and sped toward the border of Santa Fe, heading to the meeting place he had arranged with Caliban.
The desert winds blew, thick dust filled the air, and the yellow sand shrouded the desolate scene in front of the hotel. The black Chrysler broke through the dust and disappeared into the horizon.
On the outskirts of Santa Fe, Caliban waited in his beat-up pickup truck.
Afraid of sunlight, he wore a white outfit that covered him completely, along with sunglasses and leather gloves. He sat in the driver's seat, constantly gazing at the long road in the distance.
Two hours before the agreed time, he finally saw the familiar black sedan.
Seeing the Chrysler's severely deformed front end, Caliban's heart leaped into his throat, and his hand slowly reached for the pistol in the drawer.
He only breathed a sigh of relief when the car approached and he saw Logan in the driver's seat.
Charles in the back seat also breathed a sigh of relief, and at the same time he noticed Laura in the black car, and instantly showed a kind face.
"They are the new mutants, the hope of our race."
As his voice faded, the black sedan pulled up beside the dilapidated pickup truck, and Logan got out with Gabriela and Laura.
Caliban and the professor quickly stepped forward to greet them.
Caliban looked at the two people behind Logan with suspicion and asked, "Logan, who are they?"
"This is Gabriela, and this is..."
Before Logan could finish speaking, Charles looked at Laura with a loving expression and spoke first, "Lola, we've finally met."
Charles's actions surprised Logan. "You two know each other?"
"I once communicated with Laura telepathically."
Charles reached out and ruffled Laura's hair. "She is our hope."
Laura didn't speak, but she didn't resist either; she just looked at Charles with curiosity.
"Alright, let's talk about these things later. We need to leave Santa Fe City as soon as possible."
Logan gestured for the group to get in the car; he didn't want any further complications arising from their stop here.
In the car, Logan said in a deep voice, "Let's go to Nevada and settle down first. Victor is there. We'll make plans after we get there."
Charles and Caliban had no objections.
For Caliban, anywhere is fine as long as it's not Santa Fe. As for Charles, he just needs to follow Logan and Laura.
Gabriela, sitting in the back seat, hesitated for a moment, then hugged Laura beside her and said to Logan, "Once you've settled down, could you take Laura to North Dakota? There are mutant organizations there, and she can get protection from other mutants there."
North Dakota has always been their target, but with Donald pursuing them, it's unlikely they can get there on their own, which is why they tried to contact Logan.
Logan nodded. "Don't worry, I'll get her there safely."
Caliban suddenly asked, "From what I'm saying, you're not planning to go with Laura?"
Gabriela looked distressed, cradling Laura's head in his hands, resting his chin on her head, and said slowly, "I'm relieved to have her in Logan's care."
She trusted Logan to keep his word, after all, she was only alive because Logan risked his life to save her. As for herself, an ordinary person was rather strange among mutants, especially since she just wanted to live a normal life.
At the US-Mexico border, Gabriela got out of the car with a reluctant expression.
She has a relative in Mexico, and she can't stay in the United States any longer, so she plans to go directly to Mexico to find out where her relative is.
Logan didn't insist, after all, Gabriella was just an ordinary person, and the world of mutants wasn't suitable for her; she had her own ordinary life to live.
As Gabriela walked away toward Mexico, Logan even showed a hint of envy in his eyes.
An ordinary life, which is also the life he longed for, but the name Wolverine destined him to be completely separated from the word "ordinary".
As Gabriela drove away, Logan started the car again.
Dust billowed across the desert as a black sedan drove along a desolate road.
As the road signs marking the boundary of Santa Fe City gradually disappeared from the rearview mirror, Logan breathed a deep sigh of relief.
Finally, I'm leaving this damn Santa Fe city for good!
