Chapter 16
How dare you?
Chapter 16 How dare you?
A big S.
As a time traveler, it's impossible for anyone not to recognize this badge, because it's so famous that even people who haven't seen the movie or understand American comics should know something about it.
That was Superman's mark, the badge he wore on his chest, and also the sigil of Superman's family, the El family, on Krypton.
Thoughts flashed through Shen You's mind.
Could it be Superman's spaceship?
No, that's impossible. Batman has already debuted, which means Superman would have arrived many years ago if he was supposed to, and he might even be working at the Daily Planet by now.
Aside from Superman, what other members of the Eldar family who fell from Krypton?
Supergirl?
This is probably the most famous member of the Incredibles family besides Superman himself.
Shen You was preparing to check the surroundings to see if there were any traces or clues left behind.
The built-in display suddenly flashed a notification from the armored alarm device.
Enemy attack!
When I turned around, I saw a strange black shadow that had appeared in the woods behind me.
At first glance, it looks like a human body, but upon closer inspection, it turns out not to be.
It was about two meters tall, with a slender, triangular body. Its head had two horn-like structures at the top, with a pair of glowing compound eyes in the middle. Its terrifying face had no mouth, but had a pair of curved teeth that opened and closed, looking particularly frightening in the moonlight.
Its unique lower limb structure features staggered green legs with complex muscle fibers wrapped around the shins, and arms covered with serrated edges like a sickle.
It looks like a humanoid praying mantis?
"Hmph, we've run into some locals?" the mantis-man sneered. "A backward planet with a civilization level of three, a bunch of primitives."
"Fine. You were unlucky to run into me, Li-Bago. My blade has been thirsty for too long; let your blood quench it!"
He was speaking some kind of alien language.
Shen You had never heard this language before, but that did not prevent him from understanding what the other person meant.
As the Ultra race, whose entire universe is under their jurisdiction, telepathy is also an essential skill. Therefore, no matter which universe or planet they visit, the Ultra race can easily communicate with the local species.
From this brief statement, it's clear that the mantis-man is an alien—a fact Shen You doesn't seem to care about. He's long past the stage where he was easily overly sensitive to the mention of aliens, and from a human perspective, he's practically an alien himself now.
But there's definitely something wrong with what the villain said.
The mantis-man pushed off with its feet, and its entire body suddenly shot out.
A transparent aura burst forth from behind his green feet, and his figure shot out with a slight explosion, causing the ground beneath his feet to crack.
His jumping ability was the mantis man's forte, and he could use his leg strength to burst into extreme speed in an instant. This was also his proudest feature.
He especially enjoyed watching the shocked and terrified reaction of his prey when they were bewildered by his unpredictable speed.
Can you keep up with my speed?!
boom.
The dull thud of steel striking flesh.
The charging mantis-man transformed into a green afterimage, bouncing across the ground two or three times like a skipping stone before crashing into the mountain behind it with a deafening roar. The mountain seemed to crack under the force of the impact, and rocks tumbled down with a thunderous crash.
The mantis man, bruised and battered, crawled out of the buried pile of rocks and looked up at the red and silver armored figure in the distance, its face filled with shock and fear.
Just like the faces his victims should have had in the past.
What's going on? What happened?
How did I fly away?
He didn't see the other party make a move at all; in his view, it was as if the other party had been standing there without moving.
Before he could react, the other person disappeared again.
Yes, it's as if they've vanished.
The multiple thrusters on Shen You's body activated simultaneously. Combined with the super speed of his human form, he disappeared from the spot with almost a single step, leaving behind a ripple of energy.
Behind them!
The mantis felt a heat wave rolling past behind him. Without thinking, he instinctively turned around and swung his arm to strike behind him.
Snapped.
The serrated green scythe landed steadily in Shen You's outstretched palm. The blade struck the steel, sparks flew everywhere, but the Ultra Armor's cast iron body stood motionless.
"Ughhhhh!!!" the mantis screamed in agony.
An electric current, or rather, a powerful surge of energy resembling an electric current, swept through his body like a domineering torrent. The excruciating pain almost numbed every nerve, and black smoke billowed from his entire body.
Amidst the excruciating pain, a huge question mark appeared in his mind.
That's not right.
He was clearly told that Earth was a primitive planet with a civilization rating of three.
We were supposed to be able to do whatever we want on a planet with this level of civilization, right?
At this moment, facing the red and silver armor that resembled a steel demon, he suddenly felt an urge to point his finger at his boss and hurl insults at him—
—You call this Level 3?
Such speed, such explosive power.
It's almost as good as the individual armor of a Kryptonian civilization at level eleven, isn't it?
boom!
That was the sound of Shen You's rising dragon punch hitting his chin.
The mantis-man felt as if his face was shattering, and even seemed to hear the sound of his facial carapace cracking. He felt as if he were floating on clouds, as if he were ascending to heaven.
The literal meaning.
He couldn't imagine how many tons that rising dragon punch was; in short, it sent his entire body soaring into the air like a rocket.
But that mecha monster was even faster than that!
Shen You propelled himself forward with a simultaneous thrust from his feet and back, the full-power burst of the thrusters allowing him to instantly overtake the Mantis Man in mid-air. He then adjusted his thrust angle, spinning 360 degrees.
One-legged whirlwind!
Similar to a Taekwondo finishing move, the spinning kick, amplified by the propelling flames, slammed into the mantis.
Before that kick landed, the mantis's eyes were filled with despair and regret.
I regretted having such a stupid idea. It had nothing to do with my mission, but I had to be so impulsive as to bring this father into my life.
But then again, why are these kinds of monsters just randomly encountered on a level three civilization planet?!
This is totally illogical.
The mantis-man coughed up a mouthful of green blood, its chest shell cracked, and its airborne body flew back, crashing down with a bang and creating a huge crater in the ground, making the entire area seem to sink.
Shen You accelerated his descent, executing a graceful somersault and landing with his arms forming a cross shape. Positive and negative poles aligned, and the Specium energy was fully formed.
A pre-planned combo, incredibly smooth and fluid, like muscle memory in a fighting game, ensuring maximum output.
However, the Spacium ultimately failed to fire.
He realized that after being kicked down by his aerial whirlwind kick, the mantis had turned into a mosaic, and there seemed to be no need for a follow-up move.
Shen You reluctantly lowered his arm and canceled the Specium energy.
That's it?
He made such a bold statement, I thought he was really powerful, but he only withstood half a combo and died before he could even unleash his ultimate move.
DC is such a dangerous place, how dare you be so arrogant when you're so bad at it?
"Life signs detected."
The armor can still detect the presence of living creatures nearby.
Shen You followed the indicated direction and soon found the location of the armor's markings. The visual sensor captured the image and quickly displayed the discovered object in the lens.
It's a girl.
A blonde, blue-eyed little girl with a pretty face still bearing the innocence of childhood was huddled in a bush, shivering.
