Chapter 72
Where is he?
Chapter 72 Where is he?
Raven slowly stood up and looked at Chris and his two underlings, who were fast asleep against the wall.
"I made them forget what happened today," Raven said. "When they wake up, they'll feel like they had a very long dream, but they won't remember what it was about."
"Wow, that's amazing." Kara watched admiringly from behind. "Raven, are you a wizard?"
"That's a long story."
"It's alright, there's still a long night ahead."
The two turned around at the sound and saw Shen You, who had finished dealing with the demon, flying back and landing lightly on the floor in his armor.
"I'm fine," Raven sighed softly. "Let me start from the beginning."
It was indeed a long story, but Shen You already knew the general outline. However, the origins of the raven varied slightly across different worlds and versions, so Shen You still wanted to hear her elaborate.
To talk about the origin of the raven, we naturally have to start with the story of the Three Palaces Demon, the pile driver of the heavens. In the past, the Three Palaces Demon conjured up a handsome face that perfectly matched the way of heaven, and seduced a girl named Angela to spend a night with him.
After the girl became pregnant, she discovered she had been deceived. She attempted suicide by deleting her alternate account (Sangoku) but failed and was transported to a sacred dimension called "Azarath." There, Raven was born and grew up, learning to control her innate magic.
From a young age, she was told about her origins by the priests of the temple, and knew that she was destined to confront her father, and that she would be the last line of defense against her demonic father in front of the entire world.
So while Raven's origin story is a bit old, it does somehow resonate with certain trendy "filial piety" elements popular in modern works. In any version, it always ends with Raven brutally beating up his father in a "ready for a .JPG" style.
Geed listened in silence, while Bei Laohei wept. The neighboring Knight Shed, Shijima, had just sent a congratulatory telegram overnight on behalf of the Father's Avengers Alliance.
When Raven was in her teens, the goddess who protected Azarath died. The remaining nuns were all talkers, but their combat record was zero to five. Even if they all teamed up, their combined strength would barely reach five. So the priests figured that if the Three Palaces came looking for them, they would probably be in trouble, so they simply kicked Raven to Earth.
That's why she's here now.
"I could smell my father's scent on that demon," Raven said uneasily. "That means they've taken notice of this world. Sooner or later, they'll be back."
"But wasn't he already killed?" Kara asked.
Raven shook his head: "No. Their true forms can't easily come to this world; it's just an avatar. If Sannomiya notices I'm on Earth..."
Kara patted her on the back, trying to comfort her new friend: "But you just said that demons can't easily come here, right?"
“Yes, but he will use me,” Raven said grimly. “I almost lost control when I was in Azarath. I had a nightmare, and I felt terrified and helpless. My magic was unconsciously activated in my sleep, and when I woke up, the priest told me that I almost summoned the Trinity to destroy Azarath.”
Kara froze, giving a look of "Oh, this."
Then he immediately cast an inquiring glance at Shen You.
It's like saying, why not ask the amazing Ultraman?
At least so far, Kara feels like there's nothing he can't do.
"Perhaps... there is a way," Shen You said. "I know a very powerful wizard; maybe he can solve your problem."
Raven sighed and shook his head: "I grew up in Azarath since I was a child. For so many years they have tried to help me control my emotions and magic to prevent me from going berserk, but in the end I still ended up here."
Shen You smiled: "No offense intended. But the wizard I'm taking you to see is not on the same level as those priests."
Raven blinked, a look of confusion on his face.
Another world, a chaotic dimension.
Belial slowly opened his eyes, a fierce glint in them.
"You abominable being of light," the demon gritted his teeth.
Another shadow appeared in the darkness behind them.
"How come you're dead again?" the man asked coldly.
"What do you mean 'again'?" Belial retorted. "Watch your tone, Saraca."
Saraca was also a son of the Third Prince. However, it is well known that the Third Prince's children did not get along well.
"Is there anything wrong with what I said? Aren't you already at zero against two?" Saraca retorted.
"I...I was careless. Who would have thought that my foolish follower would run into that strange person of light again? Otherwise, I wouldn't have been arrested as soon as I went out."
"So you actually fell for the same person as last time?" Saraka frowned. "Did you find out who he was this time?"
"As soon as I went out, he started throwing spells at me. Then I flew away, then he chased me, and then... I came back here." Belial shrugged, "What could I do?"
Saraca: "."
Belial: "."
Before the other party could show even more contempt, Belial quickly added, "But! This time there was an unexpected bonus!"
He narrowed his eyes as he spoke and gave a cold laugh.
"Oh?"
"I've discovered a father whose offspring are completely wild!"
Saraka narrowed her eyes: "Are you sure?"
They all knew, of course, what it meant to have a child of the Third Prince. It would be the key to their father's arrival in a completely new dimension, meaning that yet another world would submit to the Third Prince.
“Of course,” Belial sneered. “It’s been so easy. I’ve already marked her magical characteristics, and now, by starting with her, a new dimension will fall into the hands of our great father!”
"Indeed, this is a great achievement."
Saraka's attitude also made a complete 180-degree turn, and his tolerance for Zero-level teammates seemed to have increased.
The two demons exchanged a glance, then simultaneously curled their lips into a low, sinister laugh.
"Hmm, as expected, she's Sannomiya's daughter. So powerful, and so evil, it's hard not to recognize her with these magical characteristics."
The old wizard stroked his large beard and frowned as he spoke.
"Oh? Is there no way to help her?" Kara asked worriedly.
"Who said there's no way? Who do you think I am?" The old wizard leaned back strategically, and began chanting again, "Guardian of the Eternal Rock, Modern Magic."
"What do I need to do?" Shen You skillfully interrupted the reading bar.
Raven also looked nervous, afraid that the old wizard would just shrug and say, "I have no idea either."
"Ultimately, she still needs to learn self-control and completely internalize that magic." The old wizard paused. "However, as for emergency measures, I also know about Sangoku's magic. Using offspring as a means of dimensional invasion is his usual tactic."
When you fall asleep or become distracted, your mind is weakened, and the demon will seize the opportunity to control your spirit and take over your body. Then it will use you as a medium to enter this dimension.
The old wizard paused, then smiled confidently.
"But separated by the dimensional barriers of countless worlds, the demons' corrupting power is actually not strong, otherwise they wouldn't need to wait until you are unconscious to make their move."
For a truly wise wizard, a single, simple spell is enough to ward off the devil's temptations, thus ensuring your safety.
Raven's eyes lit up, and a rare hint of joy appeared on his usually expressionless face.
Another dimension.
"Where's the sister you mentioned?" Saraca squinted at Belial.
"Don't rush me, we're still looking!"
Belial responded impatiently, then closed his eyes and continued casting the spell.
Saraca remained silent for a moment.
"You wouldn't have made this up to save face because you felt embarrassed after giving away your prize twice, would you?"
"Nonsense! You're slandering someone's innocence out of thin air!" Belial retorted. "You wait, her consciousness is responding to our call every second!"
However, sweat began to bead on his forehead as he spoke.
Wait a minute, he clearly remembered that he should have had his eyes gouged out?
What about people?
