Chapter 41

Newton didn't care about aliens

Chapter 41 Newton didn't care about aliens

Gotham, night.

The pale yellow streetlights cast a faint glow as two men walked down the street, arguing fiercely as they went.

"Nonsense, Miss Jill is clearly prettier!"

"Impossible. I admit Miss Jill is pretty, but she's just got bigger breasts, longer legs, and a more attractive face, but she's definitely not as pretty as Lana!"

"Ha, but Miss Jill is the mayor's daughter. Even if you fawn over her like this, she doesn't know you."

"So, Lana's a movie star in the Metropolitan City, huh? You talk like she knows you."

The two of them suddenly fell silent.

"Ha, you're right."

What you said isn't entirely without merit.

"Whatever, let's go have a drink."

"Yeah, let's go drink, let's go drink. Why bother arguing about all that nonsense?"

So the two of them put their arms around each other's shoulders, humming tunes and singing songs, and walked toward the bar.

Until a figure appeared in the darkness ahead.

You could vaguely tell from her figure that she was a woman. As you got a little closer, in the dim light, you could see that she was an unusually tall woman with a figure that was literally breathtaking, with undulating curves, long, proud legs, bare feet on the cold ground, her face hidden in the shadows.

Even more unusually, she was only draped in a strangely shaped, loose cloak. The entire cloak appeared to be woven from feathers, resembling peacock feathers.

It was immediately obvious that there was absolutely nothing under that cloak.

Beneath that magnificent cloak, one could vaguely see plump thighs, and even a slightly rounded curve extending upwards.

The two of them stared wide-eyed.

Is it really possible to be this open?

One of them whistled loudly and immediately moved closer. As they approached, they were greeted by a delightful, intoxicating fragrance.

"Ma'am, do you need help?"

"Lost?"

"On such a cold night, do we need warmth?"

"Come to my house, it's quite big."

The woman raised her head, a strange, eerie green light flashing in her eyes.

"Okay, I do need some help."

As she spoke, her snow-white arms shot out from under the cloak. She was incredibly fast, like two streaks of white lightning. Without warning, her ten fingers gripped the throats of both men, lifting them off the ground with astonishing strength.

The two men's faces instantly turned bright red, like pig's liver, and the veins on their necks bulged. A dark green cloud of energy was released from the woman's fingertips, flowing down her neck and into the man's throat, then merging into his body along the complex veins.

The two screamed in unison.

Their bodies began to swell rapidly, their sleeves tearing into strips. Their skin became rough and hard, their backs were squeezed and bent, transforming them into some kind of slender, twisted, zombie-like monster.

The woman released her grip. The two fell to the ground, one on each side, bowing their heads and kneeling, uttering muffled sounds from their throats.

She tucked her hands into her large green cloak and said lazily.

"I need you to help me find someone."

Seria didn't see how Vatox died.

Fortunately, she didn't travel with Vatox. The reason they separated earlier was just in case.

She doesn't possess the same strength as Vatrox. If Vatrox can handle the situation, her presence would be merely decorative. If the opponent is beyond Vatrox's capabilities, her presence would be a burden.

In fact, Vatrox should have had eyes inserted into his body. These eyes would record everything he saw and encountered during battle, allowing his teammates to know what kind of enemy they were facing.

Even if something were to happen to him, Seria, who was hiding far away, could take this valuable information back to the Phantom Alliance to come up with new countermeasures.

However, the visual information that should have been transmitted back was interrupted during the battle due to some unknown interference.

This alone was enough to make Seria realize something was wrong. How could a civilization that was only at level three have the means to interfere with their equipment signal transmission?

She increasingly felt that this planet—especially that institution called "Tianyan"—was definitely more complex than it appeared on the surface.

In the end, what she received from Vatox was only encrypted information transmitted back through a backup emergency line.

It's just a concise yet incredibly tense sentence.

"Earth is terrifying, run!"

Only now is Seria starting to believe that the two teammates who fed the game before might not have been bad at it after all.

There's definitely something wrong with this planet!

We must hurry back and inform the alliance and the higher-ups.

She had a feeling that finding the Kryptonian girl who had disappeared on this planet might not be so easy.

It might require those terrifying figures within the organization to personally intervene.

She remembered the name "Sky Eye Society".

Headquarters of Tianyan Association.

The events at the Gotham branch base were quickly relayed to Amanda Waller.

Recently, "aliens" has clearly become the number one sensitive word on the Sky Eye's watch list. The aliens fighting each other in the branch base—whether they were the ones beating or being beaten—have demonstrated an incredible strength that conventional weapons simply cannot handle.

Especially that Ultraman they've been keeping an eye on lately. This time, not only did the giant Ultraman appear, but there was also a combat mech that appeared to be one of his teammates.

The weapons experts from the Sky Eye Society worked through the night to study the combat data displayed by the mecha and quickly produced a report.

Its mobility is phenomenal, its power system is phenomenal, and its energy output is ridiculously high, making its energy weapon technology a generation ahead of the world.

In summary, that's roughly it.

Even if you shot me dead, I still wouldn't understand what was going on with those dozens or hundreds of incredible patents on that suit of equipment.

Waller was furious.

She doesn't understand science. But she feels that someone has already created the finished product, and the specific effects have been shown to you, so how can you tell me you don't understand it?

You can't even cheat in an open-book exam, can you?

The experts were also at a loss about this.

The technology involved in this thing is far beyond human comprehension; it's simply beyond their current theoretical understanding.

If I had to say, this wasn't an open-book exam at all; it was a convoluted, top-scoring problem with a very complicated solution process. The answer key only showed the result and left the process with a nonchalant "omitted".

However, the idiot leader didn't care about any of that. The idiot leader said, "I may not understand, but I think you guys are all trash."

The mechs were actually something they could barely understand, while the giants had basically crossed into the realm of creatures they couldn't comprehend.

In any case, judging from Ultraman's two fleeting appearances, the existence of this creature seems to be aimed at breaking all the physical laws they know. Just looking at that huge image makes Waller's head ache.

But there's nothing we can do about it; aliens probably really aren't under Newton's jurisdiction.

"Achoo!"

Amanda Waller suddenly sneezed.

"Have you caught a chill, sir?" the adjutant next to him asked.

"None of your business, focus on your work," Waller said coldly.

"Yes."

The adjutant, realizing he'd made a fool of himself, turned back to his work.

Waller rubbed his nose, frowned, and felt a little uneasy.

I always have this feeling that someone is thinking about me, but I don't know if it's just my imagination.

I even had a vague feeling that someone had framed me for something sinister.
