Chapter 1763
A Change of Fate!
Chapter 1763 A Change of Fate!
"To be honest, this is not good news, Captain Char."
After much deliberation, Henken Beckner sighed again.
“I admit, this is certainly not good news. But in the long run, it’s good news, isn’t it, Captain?”
Char Aznabul smiled slightly.
"I'm not as optimistic as Captain Char! After all, the Valley currently lacks combat experience against enemies from another dimension."
Henken Beckner's lips twitched, but he ultimately said nothing.
Because, since its inception, the Valley's greatest strength has been nothing more than civil war with humans.
"There is always an adjustment period. When that time comes, I believe those who are punishing us will be generous in sharing their experience with us."
Char Aznabul has considerable confidence in the future cooperation with Punishment.
"Captain! We've reached the vicinity of Azure Noah. If we go any further, we might be discovered by Azure Noah."
At this moment, CIC interrupted their conversation.
"Maintain the current distance, all ships enter Level 2 combat readiness!"
Henken Beckner nodded and then looked at Char Aznabul.
"It seems our discussion will have to stop here, Captain Char."
"The mission is urgent, Captain."
Char Aznabul nodded.
"Alright, then I'll leave the reconnaissance mission to you, Captain Char."
Henken Beckner raised his hand in salute.
Char Aznabul raised his hand in return.
"Understood! See you later, Captain."
"See you later!"
SIDE7, Cyan Noah, Spaceport.
After completing his routine inspection of the Temptation, Brad Noah went to the mess hall inside the spaceport to appease his rumbling stomach.
However, on his way to the dining hall, Brad encountered a commotion as he passed the passenger entrance.
A group of people dressed in Titans uniforms are groping a man and a woman.
"Stop! What are you doing?"
Brad roared and strode forward, pulling the soldiers in Titans uniforms apart and separating the two men who were wrestling.
One of the men who was pulled apart was a young man with short blond hair.
Brad recognized the young man's background.
Jerite Mesa.
At the same time, after suffering a defeat in Muzo, he was transferred to the Blue Noah to recuperate and wait for a new mecha.
"Lieutenant Mesa. You attacked civilians for no reason, and even gathered a group to beat them! Do you have any sense of duty as soldiers?"
Brad stood in front of the beaten boy and said in a deep voice.
Jellette Mesa initially wondered who was so bold as to interfere with the Titans' actions.
Unexpectedly, it was the famous Brad Noah.
Jellette Mesa wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, sneered, and pointed at the boy behind Brad, whose face was also red and blue with resentment.
"Captain Brad, don't just slap the blame on me without even asking what happened! Ask that brat behind you who's causing trouble!"
Upon hearing Jellette Mesa's words, the boy who was being protected by Brad roared angrily.
"Finding fault? Am I the one finding fault? Is it wrong for Camus to be a man's name? I'm a man too!!"
"Calm down, kid!"
In just a few words, Brad understood the reason for the commotion.
"Lieutenant Mesa. A name is a gift from one's parents, and no one else has the right to judge it. I hope you can apologize to this young man!"
Brad said seriously.
Little did they know that after Brad said those words, Jellette Mesa and the other Titans burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha!! An apology? Captain Brad, don't think that just because you're the legendary White Trojan Horse captain, you can tell us what to do with the Titans!!"
"Yes! Yes!! Captain Brad, your warship isn't the White Trojan Horse anymore! It's just a spaceship that brought people from Earth here!"
"Hey!! Don't say that! You know, a while ago, the Temptation braved a fierce attack from extradimensional bugs all the way to Von Braun's territory, and only with the help of the local garrison did they manage to kill those bugs!"
The jeers from those around him fueled the boy's already strong admiration for Brad Noah.
The more the boy heard these damned adults mocking Brad Noah, the more unbearable his anger became.
But before he could rush out, his arm was grabbed tightly.
The boy looked up and saw a pair of eyes that showed shame, but more so a warning and concern that he would be beaten up by those damned Titans again.
"Captain Brad, I..."
"Stand behind me, I'll handle this!"
Brad pulled the boy behind him again, looking calmly at Jellette Mesa and the others.
"Well, Lieutenant Mesa. We are all very clear about the cause of this commotion. If you hadn't made such a presumptuous judgment about this boy's name, this probably wouldn't have happened."
“Brad Noah! I told you, this is all this brat's fault! I did nothing wrong!”
"Jerite Mesa said coldly, his eyes gradually turning fierce," Jellette Mesa said.
"Don't think that your so-called status as a federal hero can solve everything!"
"I am merely offering this reminder from the perspective of a fair third party, and from the standpoint of a soldier's principles and duty!"
Brad said in a deep voice.
Even as the Titans soldiers, alerted by Jelit Mesa, surrounded him with menacing expressions, he showed no fear whatsoever. "Stop!!"
Just as Jellette Mesa and the others were about to surround Brad and the boy, a furious shout suddenly rang out.
As everyone turned to look, Brad, Jellette Mesa, and the others immediately stood at attention and saluted.
"Colonel Basque Om!"
The newcomer was none other than Colonel Basque Om, the Titans' second-in-command.
Beneath the red lenses, a sharp gaze pierced through the crowd, sending a chill down everyone's spines. When Basque Om glanced at the boy being protected by Brad, he roughly understood what had happened.
But this is not a big deal.
Young people!
People tend to have a bit more temper!
“Lieutenant Colonel Brad. This is not the time for you to meddle in other people’s business. Young people should solve problems the way young people do.”
"Colonel Basque Om! This is not how young people behave; it's using one's military status to oppress civilians!"
Brad argued.
“Oppression? Heh. Jellette Mesa, that’s your name, isn’t it?”
Basque Om glanced at Jelit Mesa.
"Yes, Colonel Basque Om."
Jellette Mesa quickly stepped forward to respond.
Basque Om nodded and looked at the boy behind Brad.
"You must be Captain Franklin's son, Camus Vidan, right?"
"So what?"
The boy shouted.
"He's not very old, but he has quite a temper. He's a bit different from Captain Franklin."
Basque Om chuckled, his expression suddenly turning cold.
"Camus Vidan, step forward! Then fight Lieutenant Jellett Mesa to the death!"
"what?!"
Brad and Jellette Mesa's expressions changed drastically.
The former was shocked that Basque Om was so cold-blooded, deciding the life or death of others with just a few words.
Jellette Mesa, on the other hand, excitedly twisted her neck and moved her wrists.
He's been holding it in for far too long.
Although he wasn't held responsible for Muzo's defeat, he had had enough of the gossip during his time recuperating at Azure Noah and desperately needed someone to vent his anger on.
It's better now.
Colonel Basque Om thoughtfully provided him with a scapegoat.
"Colonel Basque Om, what do you mean by this?"
Brad stood firmly in front of the boy, preventing him from coming out.
“I said, young people should solve problems the way young people do, shouldn’t they? Right now, no one else will step in. Let the two of them solve it one-on-one. What’s wrong with that?”
Basque Om stepped forward and spoke in a condescending tone.
"I object..."
Before Brad could finish speaking, he was knocked to the ground by a straight punch.
"Captain Brad!"
Seeing this, the boy quickly bent down and helped Brad up from the ground. Then, he looked up and stared fiercely at Basque Om.
"You bastard!! How dare you treat Captain Brad like this!"
The boy's eyes amused Basque Om.
"Heh. Captain? Ordinary officers, shut your mouths! The only reason I spoke to you so politely was because headquarters issued an order to transfer you, a hero of the Earth Federation Forces, to the Punishment Force."
"Don't think that just because you're a so-called hero, you can interfere in the affairs of the Titans!!"
After saying that, Basque Om turned to look at Jelit Mesa.
"Lieutenant Mesa, what are you waiting for?"
"Yes! Colonel!"
Jellette Mesa clenched her fists, a cold smile playing on her lips, and strode forward.
"Come on! You little rascal! You think you're so tough? Let me see what you're really capable of!"
"Asshole!!"
The boy roared, but he couldn't move at all.
He quickly looked down and saw that it was Brad who was holding him down tightly.
"Captain Brad!! You!!"
"Don't move! Your name is Camus, right? Even if you beat Lieutenant Mesa, you won't get away unscathed. Now, listen to me!!"
Brad held the boy firmly behind him, preventing him from stepping forward. He straightened up again, looked directly at Basque Om, and said in a deep voice.
"Colonel Basque Om. Soldiers should protect the people, not oppress them!"
“Is that so? It seems there is such a rule. Well then, let Captain Brad put this rule into practice for us! Lieutenant Mesa, I’ll leave this to you.”
"Yes! Colonel!"
