Chapter 1814
Gop's Invitation!
Chapter 1814 Gop's Invitation!
"Welcome to Chabro! Colonel Ming, Major Deakin."
In a scenic, sun-drenched lakeside estate, Gop personally stood at the entrance to greet the two distinguished guests.
Moreover, it seems that there is no one else besides Gop.
After dropping off He Ming and Artesia, the young Lieutenant Charlie immediately led the convoy away from the manor, keeping a safe distance from the three's conversation.
"Hehe. Please don't be surprised. Right now, there are only the three of us here."
General Gop, known as General 369, greeted He Ming and Artesia into the room with the warmth of a kind old neighbor.
During the process of entering the house, He Ming's intelligent AI cube Adino jumped out of his pocket without any hesitation, quickly walked back and forth around the house, and stopped from time to time to scan the surroundings.
Seeing this, General Gop was not angry. Instead, he walked to the fireplace with a smile, preparing to brew tea, but Artesia quickly stepped forward and snatched it away.
"General, you and the colonel have a good chat. I'll handle these small matters!"
Artesia's words surprised Gop for a moment.
He then glanced at He Ming, who was already sitting on the sofa, and then laughed.
"Very well! Let me experience the craftsmanship of Deakin's son properly!"
Having said that, General Gop stopped insisting, walked over and sat down opposite He Ming, and waited for the intelligent AI cube Adino, which had circled the house and returned to He Ming's shoulder, to send a signal that there were no eavesdropping devices before he spoke with a smile.
"How is it, Colonel Ming? Is the house I prepared alright?"
"Hmm. Not bad."
He Ming nodded and then apologized.
"Sorry! This is a necessary measure."
"It's alright. I understand."
Gop waved his hand and said again.
"I invited you here today not to discuss business, but to meet with you privately. I never expected that you would bring Deakin's son along as well."
"Did you feel surprised?"
He Ming asked in return.
"There might have been some surprises, but there were far more shocks."
Gop made no attempt to hide his fear, but He Ming knew that Gop was doing it on purpose.
Gop then resumed his smiling expression and chuckled.
"Of course. This applies to those members of parliament, especially those who stand with the Titans."
"Some time ago, when I made public the news that the two sons of Deikun had clearly joined the Valley and the Punishment, it did cause a minor earthquake."
Gop had just said he wouldn't talk about official business, but the words that came out of his mouth were about Deacon's son.
This left He Ming somewhat helpless.
“General Gopp. There’s no need for this back-and-forth. Your prediction is correct.”
Since it was all expected, He Ming didn't try to hide it and openly admitted it.
Upon hearing this, Gop burst into laughter.
Just then, Artesia had finished brewing the tea and brought it over to Heming and Gop respectively.
"Thank you, Miss Artesia."
Gop picked up his cup, slowly inhaled the aroma of the tea, and sighed.
"Excellent tea!" "Thank you for the compliment!"
After brewing herself a cup of tea, Artesia sat down next to He Ming, holding the cup in her hand.
"This is where I usually unwind from work-related worries in my spare time. No unauthorized personnel will intrude. If you two are interested, you might as well stay here for a few days."
After taking a slow sip of his tea, Gop said again.
"Of course. If you want to call your men, you can also set up a party here to relieve the fatigue of continuous battles. This is one of the entertainment options that I personally, as well as the Chabro headquarters, provide for Punishment."
"Okay! I'll arrange it right away."
"Ah."
Both were intelligent people, and after getting the answers they wanted, they didn't discuss it further.
After chatting for a while and drinking a few cups of tea, Gop got up to say goodbye and boarded the convoy that Lieutenant Charlie had once again brought into the manor.
After watching Gop's convoy leave, Artesia frowned slightly and looked at He Ming, asking a question.
"My lord, is General Gop ordering that punishment be temporarily removed from Chabro?"
"Yes, that's certainly the idea."
He Ming pointed to the large lake next to the manor. The weather was fine and the lake stretched as far as the eye could see. The lake on this side of the manor alone was enough to temporarily dock a Garuda-class aircraft carrier.
"Adino, inform Captain Slag to bring his men and come over here. We'll have a party here. As for what happened in Chabro, leave it to Gop."
"Yes, Master."
"But what about Asuka?"
Artesia raised a question.
"Oh? That is a problem. But it's alright. Adino, extend the invitation as before, and if Asuka is willing, have her come with the Garuda. As for Unit 2, I believe Commander Ikari of NERV will handle it."
"clear!"
"Oh, right. Let's call the Odomra over too! The lake here is big enough anyway."
"yes!"
So, after lunch, the news media stationed near the Chabro headquarters were patiently waiting for the Punishment Force to enter a rest period so they could interview its members when two Garuda-class aircraft carriers suddenly accelerated along the runway, took off, and flew northeast.
Upon seeing this, the quick-thinking reporter immediately grabbed his food and, running and jumping, rushed down from the rooftop, opened the door of the car parked by the roadside, floored the accelerator, and tried to chase after the afterimage left by the Garuda-class aircraft carrier.
The takeoff of the Garuda-class aircraft carrier undoubtedly signifies the withdrawal of the Punishment Force.
This made it impossible for reporters who originally wanted to interview the Punishment Force to pass up such an absolute headline.
Suddenly, a long line of convoys appeared on the highway leading out of the city, speeding frantically toward the northeast.
Unfortunately, before the convoy could even leave the city, the Garuda-class aircraft carrier had already disappeared into the horizon.
"Ah!! Damn it!! Weren't the Punishment Force supposed to attend the meeting too? Why did they run away again?"
One by one, the angry reporters either pounded on the steering wheel or stood dejectedly by the roadside, muttering and cursing, but none of them could change the fact that the Punishment Force had left the Chabro headquarters.
Those resentful faces were naturally recorded by Lieutenant Charlie's intelligence team and handed over to General Gop, who had returned to his office.
"Let them move around more! It'll save them from spending all their time in the city taking pictures and running around aimlessly."
After glancing at the report, Gop tossed it back onto the table, stood by the window with his hands behind his back, and smiled slightly.
