Chapter 1928
Brad's Wavering!
Chapter 1928 Brad's Wavering!
"Brad. Are you worried about Hathaway?"
After everyone left, when only He Ming and Brad remained, there was no need for much concealment. He Ming directly revealed that he knew the secret of Hasavi's true identity.
"Yes, Colonel."
After seeing He Ming frankly admit that he knew about Hathaway's future, Brad felt much more at ease.
“I had heard from Hassawi about what the Federation and the Federation Army were doing in the future, but I still have some doubts.”
Brad paused, seemingly sighing.
"But after I arrived here, I realized that what Hassawi was talking about was not a temporary change, but a long-standing decay."
After driving out the fleet of Death Vanguard and following He Ming's orders to enter the colony and take over related matters and intelligence, Brad, who has an extremely keen sense of the battlefield situation, immediately saw the core key to this battle.
That is, what is the name, and the punishment.
If He Ming hadn't been the first to enter the colony before the battle broke out, and hadn't appeared and stabilized the front line at the very first moment of the battle, the battle would probably have been a one-sided affair.
The Earth Federation forces on Border 4 were utterly defeated and ultimately surrendered their colony.
The Federation Army was so wretched and corrupt that it was vastly different from any Federation Army that Brad had ever witnessed or experienced firsthand.
Although the Titans are inhuman in many ways, domineering, arrogant, and treat the inhabitants of the universe like dirt, it is undeniable that the Titans are indeed powerful, so powerful that even the Earth Federation Forces themselves are afraid of them.
In contrast, what about the Earth Federation Forces on this colony?
They're just a bunch of good-for-nothings.
Since the end of the battle, apart from the news brought by Curator Roy, no high-ranking official or internal affairs department of the colony has come forward to contact He Ming.
"Seeing this, do you still have doubts? Or do you feel sorry for Hasavi?"
He Ming could tell that Brad seemed to be in a state of flux.
"Perhaps it's a combination of factors! However, after seeing the Federal soldiers who were abandoned here by those high-ranking officers fight bravely under your command, Colonel, and ultimately drive the enemy out of the colony, perhaps Hassawi's plan has some merit."
Brad then fell silent for a moment.
"However, Hassawi should not place his hopes on the federal leadership of his time. He should not expect them to have a moment of self-awareness and eventually walk the right path."
“I can see that you, Brad, made a great deal of determination to say those words.”
He Ming nodded slightly, affirming Brad's words.
"Stop making fun of me, Colonel Ming."
Brad sighed and shook his head in distress.
"I learned from Hathaway that after the wars on the Titans and in the Valley, I will be ordered to assemble a fleet called Londo Bell to wipe out the remnants of Zeon. Hathaway affirmed this appointment, expressed his support, and was proud of it."
"But, Colonel, after seeing the state of this colony from the future, I suddenly wondered if the path I had been following in that timeline was truly the right one? Or perhaps, shouldn't the Brad Noah of that timeline have simply obeyed the orders of the Federation's higher-ups, but instead secretly sought out an opportunity to find a new path?"
"Have you wavered after seeing the condition of this colony, Captain Brad?"
He Ming asked in return.
Brad shook his head, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
“No, I have not wavered. I just feel that we adults are so incompetent that we have placed such a heavy burden on the shoulders of a child, letting him sink into a sea of suffering and eventually embark on that path of no return.” Brad’s hands clenched slightly, his voice sharp.
"If the future of that time and space is so unbearable that children must bear burdens they should not have to bear, then I hope that I should bear those burdens instead."
"My son, Hasavi, deserves a better future."
He Ming looked at Brad Noah, whose eyes were gradually filled with a determined light, and patted him on the shoulder.
“Then, lift your heads, Captain Brad. This is no longer the corrupt era that Hathaway lived in. General Rebil, General Tiam, and I are all here, all still alive.”
"The Earth Federation Council is also gradually changing under the influence of General Gop and Speaker Ronan."
"Although this era and this world have become unpredictable and incredibly complex due to the dimensional disasters unleashed by the ambitions of some, it is undeniable that if we can overcome the difficulties before us, perhaps Hathaway's future will change."
"So, Brad Noah, don't be upset or angry about Hathaway's concealment. He just feels that Hathaway Noah, who was determined to carry out that plan, has let down his father who has been working tirelessly for peace and to protect the people all along."
Brad Noah nodded slowly and said with emotion.
“I understand! Hassawi can be quite stubborn sometimes. I’m glad that in this incredibly complex era, I can see him come from the future and that he can be honest with me about everything.”
"Therefore, those heavy burdens need not be borne by Hassawi. If the future in which Hassawi finds himself needs to be changed, then let us start changing it now."
Seeing Brad's determined expression, He Ming chuckled and teased.
"To be honest, we still don't know whether this complex and ever-changing world will return to its original state after everything is resolved, allowing the many intertwined timelines to return to their rightful places."
"No. That's fine too. If that's the case, let Hasavi watch closely as we change the Federation."
"If...if all time and space will eventually return to normal, then I hope our actions now can provide Hasavi with some inspiration and help him make positive changes."
"Well said. Let's work together, Captain Brad."
"Yes! Colonel!"
Meanwhile, everyone who left the office had their own tasks to handle, leaving only Amuro and Hassawi wandering around the weapons museum.
While walking and chatting, Hasavi noticed that there seemed to be a pastry shop not far away with a "Open for Business" sign hanging up.
Amuro, who was standing nearby, noticed this as well and casually made a joke.
"Maffy, would you like to buy some small cakes to take home?"
Hassavi shook his head.
"These are also on the Judgment Ship. No need."
Amro laughed and patted Hassavi on the shoulder.
"What's wrong? You went out of your way to snatch her back, and now you don't even dare to bring her a small gift back? Mafti, are you such an irresponsible man?"
"Captain Amuro, you're being too harsh on me."
Hasavi was both amused and exasperated.
"Since you've made up your mind, then just do it! Mafti, if you hesitate, the opportunity will slip through your fingers!"
