Chapter 14

George and Fred's reputations are ruined

Chapter 14 George and Fred's reputations are ruined

Professor McGonagall turned and glanced at Andy, who gave a sheepish laugh and promptly shut his mouth.

Anyway, these were said by George and Fred. As for Harry and Ron, they can trick as many as they can.

What if one of them is a cat lover?

Moreover, quite a few young wizards overheard Andy speaking, and there were always a few particularly bold ones who wanted to pet Professor McGonagall's cat.

At Hogwarts, there are always some people who are particularly unlucky, so why can't it be someone else?

Professor McGonagall led the first-year wizards to the other end of the hall, to a small, empty room. Everyone rushed in, jostling each other, nervously staring at their surroundings.

Welcome to Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall said, "The opening banquet is about to begin, but before you all enter the hall and take your seats, you must first decide which house you want to attend."

"Sorting is a very important ceremony because during your time at the university, your college will be like your home. You will attend classes, live in the same houses, and spend your free time with other students in your college."

All the young wizards fell silent, watching Professor McGonagall with bated breath.

Professor McGonagall continued, "The names of the four houses are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin."

"Each college has a glorious history and has produced many outstanding wizards and witches. I hope you will perform well during your time at the college, bring glory to the college, and win the ultimate College Cup."

"And if you violate the school rules, you will be punished, and in serious cases you may even be expelled from Hogwarts."

"In a few minutes, the college sorting ceremony will be held in front of the entire school. I suggest that you take some time to tidy yourselves up and make yourselves look more presentable while you wait."

After saying that, Professor McGonagall's gaze swept over Harry, Ron, Malfoy, and the others.

Andy followed Professor McGonagall's gaze and looked at the group.

"What's wrong with you two?" Andy asked.

I hadn't noticed it when we were outside, but now that I look closely, Harry and Ron look like they've just come back from a battlefield. Their clothes are disheveled, and Ron even has a bruise on his face.

"Not Malfoy yet!"

Ron said angrily, "He was on the same ship as us... but we gave him a good beating too."

Professor McGonagall glanced at the group, and Andy and the others immediately shut up. "Please remain quiet while we wait."

After saying that, Professor McGonagall left the room.

Harry and Ron visibly breathed a sigh of relief, and the two quickly straightened their clothes to make themselves look less disheveled.

The Sorting Ceremony is just around the corner, and the young wizards are clearly very nervous.

Harry asked curiously, "How can they be so sure which house we'll be sorted into?"

Ron mumbled, "I guess we'll have to go through some tests! George and Fred said it's going to hurt us a lot. But I think they're joking."

"They're definitely joking with you."

Andy chuckled, "I exchanged some information with George and Fred before—Ron, you should know him. After they were sorted into their respective schools, they only stayed in bed for one night and were fine the next day."

"So I think the branch school didn't really do us much harm."

Gudong!

Ron swallowed hard, Harry's heart skipped a beat, and Neville trembled with nervousness, standing there like a madman, as if he had lost his mind.

Whether it's taking a test in front of the entire school or lying in bed for a night after being injured, these are the things they least want to experience.

"Didn't you say you didn't know anything about the Sorting House?" Hermione looked at Andy suspiciously.

"I really don't know," Andy shrugged. "But George and Fred did spend the whole night in bed recovering after the sorting ceremony."

However, they weren't lying in hospital beds, but in Gryffindor dormitory beds.

All the young wizards were somewhat apprehensive, and Hermione began to mutter incantations, reciting the spells she had learned.

"Andy, is there any spell that can be learned quickly?" Ron turned to Andy and asked nervously.

Andy patted Ron on the shoulder; the kid looked pretty scared too. "Even if you did, it's too late now."

"ah!!!"

Just then, several people suddenly screamed loudly.

"That is—"

Hermione gripped Andy's arm tightly, so frightened she could barely breathe.

"Don't be nervous, it's a ghost." Although Andy had always lived in the magical world, this was the first time he had ever seen a ghost.

Andy was extremely curious about the life forms of ghosts.

If conditions allowed, Andy would love to slice up the ghost and study it properly.

About twenty ghosts came through the back wall. These translucent, pearly-white ghosts whispered to each other as they passed through the room.

The young wizards were almost scared out of their wits.

Fortunately, Professor McGonagall returned at that moment, and the ghosts floated away, while the fish disappeared through the opposite wall.

"Now, line up in a single file..."

Professor McGonagall glanced around, and the young wizards fell silent. "Follow me!"

After the crowd shoved and jostled to form a line, Professor McGonagall led the young wizards out of the room, through the foyer, and through a double door into a magnificent hall.

It was luxurious, but that was only true for that era.

What kind of five-star hotels hadn't Andy stayed in in his previous life?

Having grown accustomed to the luxurious lifestyles of the 21st century, a visit to the Great Hall of Hogwarts reveals that it is actually of only average quality.

Even the twinkling stars on the ceiling can be created using computer technology.

The only difference is that the former is magic, while the latter is technology.

It's difficult to say whether technology or magic is superior; they are both quite amazing. The difference is that technology utilizes external forces, while magic's power originates from within itself.

This is the most fundamental difference between the two.

Andy's gaze swept around.

Thousands of candles floated in the air above the auditorium, their flickering light creating a somewhat bizarre and fantastical atmosphere in the spacious hall.

The other Hogwarts students were already seated on either side of four long tables, which were set with gleaming gold platters and goblets.

Another long table was placed on the stage at the head of the auditorium, which was for the teachers.

Hogwarts has about a thousand junior wizards, but Andy's class of new students has slightly fewer.

(The figure of one thousand students is the official figure provided by Rowling.)

After all, the wizarding world is a microcosm of society, and you can't expect the same number of children to be born here every year.
