Chapter 41
: Am I the mastermind behind Hogwarts?
Chapter 41: Am I the mastermind behind Hogwarts?
Snapped!
Snape casually picked out a few books, then dragged his black cloak and left the library like the wind.
He couldn't care less about any of that!
He'd come and take a look, and that would be considered completing the task Dumbledore had given him. If he ever discovered Andy was secretly researching Dark Arts, he'd report it to Dumbledore immediately.
Aside from that, our relationship was simply that of teacher and student.
After all, Andy isn't Harry Potter, nor does he have bright green eyes, so he doesn't deserve Snape's special attention.
As for Andy's future...
Even if Andy becomes the Dark Lord in the future, it has nothing to do with Snape.
His reason for joining Dumbledore was to protect Lily Evans in the past, and now it's to protect Lily's children; it has nothing to do with his personal values of good and evil.
Snape thought to himself that he was merely fulfilling his duties as a professor...
That's it!
……
After finishing the book on magic theory, and seeing that he still had some time to spare, Andy went to the bookshelf and picked out a magic book that explained curses.
Curses and Anti-Curses
"Why are you researching curses?"
Hermione looked at Andy suspiciously. "Are you trying to curse someone?"
Andy: "?"
Andy was completely dumbfounded.
Why would Hermione think that way? What kind of image do I have in her eyes?
"Why would you think that?" Andy asked.
"Otherwise what?"
Hermione slammed the book shut. "If it's not to curse others, why do you study curses?"
In the little witch's eyes, Andy was a complete little rascal.
Look at what Andy did after he came to Hogwarts!
Let's not even mention using the branch campus issue to scare people, since many people have done that before.
But this wasn't the only bad thing Andy had done!
He first told others that Professor McGonagall owned a tabby cat.
And what happened? That cat was Professor McGonagall's Animagus transformation.
At the opening banquet, Andy also mentioned that he wanted to explore the corridor on the fourth floor.
And what happened? Harry and Ron were the ones who went.
The same applies to getting rid of Professor Quirrell; it was all Andy's doing behind the scenes.
The little witch listed all the bad things Andy had done, and finally concluded: "You haven't done anything really bad, but you often lie to others to do bad things."
So, I'm the mastermind behind Hogwarts?
Even Quirrell, whose brain was eaten by Voldemort, isn't as big as me?
Andy felt wronged.
Other things aside, those were indeed related to Andy.
But what does Harry and Ron's nighttime outing have to do with me?
"Harry and Ron went out at night because they had a duel with Malfoy. They broke into the fourth-floor restricted area because they were panicking and didn't know where to go when they were escaping."
Andy decided to salvage his image in the little witch's eyes. "What does this have to do with me? It's not like I told them to go!"
Upon hearing this, the little witch put her hands on her hips and said, "So, everything else is related to you?"
She almost petted Professor McGonagall's cat.
"Shh!"
Andy quickly made a shushing gesture, "Don't say anything, or Mrs. Pince will kick us out."
The little witch immediately pretended to read a book, but her eyes kept glaring at Andy.
This is clearly not over yet!
Andy felt a little guilty. There was still more than an hour before lunchtime. This little girl shouldn't remember that long, right?
An hour passed in the blink of an eye.
hall.
Andy sat at the Ravenclaw table, rubbing his lower back with his right hand and occasionally hissing.
He clearly suffered a lot.
The little witch has remembered this for four or five days, so it's clear she couldn't have forgotten it in just an hour.
Andy had always blamed George and Fred for this, and Hermione had always believed it.
Today, Andy has finally been exposed.
"I was just joking!"
Andy explained pitifully, "Besides, didn't I stop you when you tried to touch Professor McGonagall?"
"snort!"
The little witch gave a haughty snort, glancing coldly at Andy. "Why don't you say George and Fred told you now?"
Andy retorted, "Wasn't I just trying to get Professor McGonagall to deal with them?"
"Oh! So you had such thoughts all along." The little witch thought Andy was really too wicked.
Andy slapped his forehead.
He decided to return the book, "Curses and Anti-Curses," that afternoon.
If his mind hadn't been cursed by this book, Andy felt that dealing with a little witch would have been a piece of cake. If his mind hadn't been cursed, would Andy have ended up in this awkward situation?
This book must have ruined me!
……
After lunch, Andy and Hermione went to the abandoned classroom on the sixth floor to practice magic, as usual.
After several days of practice, Hermione has become increasingly proficient in using spells. She can even quickly transform a match into a silver needle using Transfiguration.
She can't say she's made great progress, but at least she looks like a little witch.
As for Andy…
There has been progress, but it's not significant.
Take the petrification spell as an example. The difference in the power of the magic is only whether the petrification lasts for five minutes, ten minutes, or half an hour.
It's impossible for you to permanently petrify a person.
Andy had watched the magical dueling tournaments and had a general assessment of the magical abilities of those dueling masters.
The more Andy studied magic, the more he felt that there was a limit to the amount of magic in this world.
The root cause of all this is that wizards' magic is innate.
In the world of Harry Potter, wizards do not acquire their magic through meditation or other forms of training.
It is innate, and it will improve as the wizard grows.
When a wizard's body reaches its limit, the growth of magic power will naturally also reach its limit.
Because magic has an upper limit, the wizards of this world have developed all sorts of diverse spells, allowing magic to flourish in a wide variety of forms.
Hmm...it's a bit like Earth in the Dragon Ball universe.
"Luckily, I don't have this problem!"
Andy can solve the problem of magic shortage by allocating points through the system, but the question now is: can increasing magic power really increase the power of spells?
It might have some effect.
But the relationship between magic and spells is somewhat like that between gunpowder and guns.
Even if you have a warehouse full of gunpowder and bullets, you still can't beat a well-ammunition Gatling gun if you only have a musket from centuries ago.
"This world not only has a limit to magical power, but even magic has a limit?"
Andy frowned slightly.
"Or is it that magic nowadays... has actually gone astray?"
The advantage of modern magic is that it is simple, convenient, and easy to learn and master.
And ancient magic…
Andy had read some books about ancient magic, but only as introductions. Over time, most of the ancient magic had been lost.
