Chapter 20
I Want to Swim in the Ocean of Knowledge
Chapter 20 I Want to Swim in the Ocean of Knowledge
At exactly twelve o'clock, the two-hour potion class finally came to an end.
All the young wizards fled the Potions classroom as if their lives depended on it. Only after they were far away did they breathe a sigh of relief and take deep breaths of the fresh air outside.
"That was terrifying! I couldn't bear to look at Professor Snape at all. He was standing right next to me, and I felt like I was about to die." A young wizard from Hedgehog House had a look of relief on his face.
The others also looked in agreement.
"The good news is, we don't have to have Potions class this week!" a young wizard from Eagle School said cheerfully.
This is really good news.
Especially since they were about to have lunch, upon hearing this news, they felt they could eat an extra big bowl of food.
"Hmph! They've gone too far by saying that."
Hermione and Andy walked side by side behind the group. Hermione said indignantly, "Professor Snape was so conscientious and went to great lengths to point out their mistakes. Although he was a bit strict, they shouldn't have said that!"
Andy glanced at Hermione.
It's a good thing you didn't go to Gryphon, otherwise you might have burned Snape's robes.
"You think so too, don't you?" Hermione tried to find an ally.
"Ah, yes!"
Andy said somewhat absentmindedly, "Don't be angry. They'll understand how good Professor Snape was when they're a little older."
"You're right!"
Hermione nodded in agreement, then looked at Andy with a puzzled expression. "What are you thinking about?"
"It's nothing."
Andy said, "Let's go eat quickly. After we eat, I'm going to the library to read for a while."
"I also want to go to the library. I've heard that Hogwarts has the largest collection of books in all of Britain." Hermione looked longingly at the mention of the library.
"Not just in Britain, but throughout the entire European magical community."
Andy explained, "Hogwarts is the first magic school established in the global wizarding world, and it has a history of over a thousand years."
"This place has the most magic books in the entire magic world."
Hermione asked curiously, "Are there many other magic schools around the world?"
"certainly!"
Andy said, "I don't know much about the specifics, but there are more than a dozen prestigious schools, and many lesser-known magic schools."
As they spoke, Andy and Hermione had already arrived at the Great Hall on the first floor.
"Hi, Andy."
Ron and Harry were playing wizard chess at the Gryffindor table when Ron spotted Andy immediately.
"You guys got out of class so early?" Andy walked over and said with a surprised look.
We don't have classes in the morning.
Ron said, "But we have a Herbology class with Hufflepuff this afternoon, and a History of Magic class tonight."
Harry asked curiously, "What classes did you have in the morning?"
He actually wanted to ask what it was like to attend classes at magic school, but he was a little embarrassed—after all, he wasn't very familiar with Andy.
"We have two potions classes in the morning," Andy said.
"It's Snape's class!"
Ron gave him a knowing look. "I heard from George that Snape is very biased towards Slytherins. He didn't do anything to you in class, did he?"
"well enough!"
Andy didn't want to lie to him. "I think Professor Snape, although strict, is very knowledgeable. Maybe George is just trying to scare you; after all, they do that all the time."
Ron was somewhat convinced, but Harry sensed that Professor Snape didn't like him—on the day of the Sorting, Snape looked at him very strangely.
"Okay, I'm going to eat now. I'm also going to the library to read for a while later."
Andy waved to the two of them and turned to walk towards Ravenclaw's long table.
Ron shrugged. "Andy has loved reading since he was a child. We're neighbors, and every time I go to see him, he's in his study reading."
Harry glanced back at Andy, only to see Andy already sitting at the Ravenclaw table, talking to a little brown-haired witch.
Ron followed Harry's gaze, but wasn't surprised at all. "They're all the same type of person—I mean, they both love reading."
At the Ravenclaw table, Andy and Hermione chatted happily about everything under the sun.
Andy was initially quite troubled.
Knowing Ron, how can I subtly distance myself from the Saviors trio once I arrive at Hogwarts?
Until just now…
Children often find it difficult to hide their emotions. Just now, when Andy was chatting with Ron, he keenly noticed that Ron clearly preferred chatting with Harry.
That's true! After all, academic underachievers and academic high achievers are from two completely different worlds.
One only cares about playing, the other only cares about studying.
Having just finished lunch, Hermione couldn't wait to go to the library to broaden her horizons.
Andy readily agreed, after all, his time was very valuable.
Seven years may seem like a long time, but reading through all the books in Hogwarts' collection is probably an impossible task.
Having the good fortune to come to the magical world, Andy naturally wanted to devote all his energy to the study of magic.
This is what Andy wants, and it also involves Andy's system.
Only by working hard to improve his talents can Andy become stronger within a limited time.
……
Hogwarts' library is located on the second floor of the castle, housing the most comprehensive collection of magical books in all of Europe. From ordinary books for leisure to various profound forbidden spells, it has it all.
When Andy first came to the library, he was amazed by the sheer number of books there.
The library has thousands of bookshelves and hundreds of narrow aisles, each shelf containing thousands of magic books. Here, you can find all the magic you want to learn.
Andy couldn't wait to swim in the ocean of knowledge.
"What book are you planning to read?" Hermione asked.
Andy and Hermione strolled one after the other through the narrow passage between two bookshelves—there were so many books that neither of them knew where to begin.
"It's probably related to a curse!"
Andy can only increase the system's potential points by improving his abilities in five areas: spells, transfiguration, dark magic, alchemy, and divination.
Dark magic is not an option for now.
The British magical community had just experienced Voldemort's devastation, and the prevailing atmosphere was extremely hostile to dark magic. Anything associated with dark magic was considered evil.
Even if Andy wanted to learn dark magic, he could only study it secretly by himself and couldn't let anyone find out.
Besides, alchemy is a high-level skill, and divination... Andy has zero talent in these areas, so even if he wanted to learn, he would need to develop talent first.
In contrast, spellcasting has a wide variety of forms, and through diligent practice, one can improve their strength while also increasing the system's potential points, which is a win-win situation.
"What do you think of this book?" Hermione asked, pulling out a book.
