On Black Dumbledore, I'm a Professional
Chapter 16 On Black Dumbledore, I'm a Professional
"Harry Potter!"
When Professor McGonagall announced the name, the entire Great Hall fell silent instantly, followed by a buzzing sound as everyone whispered and talked about Harry Potter.
Andy saw many people stand up, seemingly wanting to see what was so special about the "boy who survived" who had supposedly defeated the mysterious man.
Even Dumbledore has set his sights on Harry, seemingly looking forward to Harry Potter's sorting into his house.
Although the prophecy about Harry Potter and Voldemort was a secret in the wizarding world, in Andy's previous life, the prophecy had already spread far and wide, and even many people who had never read "Harry Potter" knew about it.
Andy was initially puzzled as to why a powerful wizard like Voldemort would believe in a so-called prophecy.
At this moment, Andy finally solved the case.
It turns out that Dumbledore believed it.
Imagine, a previously unknown witch (although Trelawney came from a family of prophets, she was indeed unknown) prophesied the death of the great Dark Lord Voldemort.
According to the normal script, Voldemort should have given her an Avada Kedavra.
However, the witch who made the prophecy was hired by Dumbledore to be the Divination professor at Hogwarts.
This is completely unexpected!
Voldemort was shocked to see that Dumbledore actually believed that nonsensical prophecy to be true!
Okay, then I believe it too.
This is what is known as the celebrity effect.
Of course, Andy hoped more than anyone else that the prophecy was true.
Even if the world has been thrown into chaos by the butterfly effect, that prophecy can still come true.
This way, Andy could comfortably hand Voldemort over to Harry to deal with, while he could quietly sit back and watch the show.
Harry Potter's sorting process took a long time. Harry kept whispering something to the Sorting Hat until, after a long while, the Sorting Hat finally called out loudly, "Gryffindor!"
"We got Porter! We got Porter!"
Cheers erupted from the Gryffindor table throughout the Great Hall as everyone vied to shake Harry's hand, taking great pride in the gesture.
Andy's gaze swept across the faculty seats. All the professors were delighted, and Dumbledore watched this scene with a look of satisfaction.
Only Snape's already grim expression seemed to worsen. It was as if, in his eyes, Harry Potter wasn't a person, but a maggot living in a sewer.
It's so disgusting that it makes you lose your appetite.
Once all the freshmen had been sorted into their respective schools, Professor McGonagall rolled up the parchment, picked up the Sorting Hat, and left.
Dumbledore stood up, smiling broadly at his students, and opened his arms to them, as if nothing could please him more than seeing his students gathered together.
"welcome!"
Dumbledore said, "Welcome everyone to Hogwarts for the start of the new school year. Before the banquet begins, I'd like to say a few words. They are: Idiots! Crybabies! Trash! Troublemakers!"
Thank you everyone!
Dumbledore sat down again.
Andy felt that those leaders from his previous life should really learn from Dumbledore how a leader should speak.
Even swearing is better than endless rambling nonsense!
Hermione poked Andy with her finger, and said hesitantly, "Isn't he a little—"
Hermione gestured in Dumbledore's direction with her eyes while pointing to her head with her fingers.
That means: Is Dumbledore's mind a little abnormal?
Andy nodded, giving Hermione a definite answer. "Headmaster Dumbledore is over a hundred years old after all; we have to understand him. Whatever he says, we should just go along with it."
"What more could we ask of a centenarian?"
Andy said, "It's already quite good that he can still feed himself."
"I thought he was wearing dentures!" Hermione's parents were both dentists, and by all accounts, an old man like Dumbledore should have lost all his teeth long ago.
During the casual conversation, all sorts of delicious food suddenly appeared on the long table.
Roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, sausages, steak, boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, potato chips, Yorkshire pudding, pea shoots, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and for some strange reason, there were also mint hard candies on the table.
Andy had been eating British food for eleven years and could barely tolerate it.
Although he missed Chinese food, Andy didn't want to reveal his difference from others just because of a little culinary desire.
After all, Andy had never been exposed to those things in this life.
The abundance of delicious food immediately enlivened the atmosphere, with everyone clinking glasses, exchanging toasts, and chatting about their interesting experiences.
After everyone had filled their stomachs, the remaining food suddenly disappeared from the table, and the plates became clean again.
After a while, the pudding arrived, along with a variety of flavors of ice cream and desserts.
Andy gave Hogwarts a thumbs up.
As a school that doesn't charge tuition, Hogwarts offers quite a lavish diet.
Andy felt that the food alone this school year would be enough to cover the cost of three sets of uniforms, as well as the money spent on wands and textbooks.
Hermione was talking to Prefect Penelope Crivart about freshman coursework.
She was a proud little girl, and because she came from the Muggle world, she didn't want to fall too far behind her peers.
Especially after entering the magical world, the first young wizard she met was Andy—an excellent student who had practiced every kind of magic thousands of times.
When all the desserts were gone, Dumbledore stood up again, and the chaotic Great Hall returned to silence.
"Oh! Now that everyone has eaten and drunk their fill, I have a few more words to say. At the beginning of the semester, I want to remind everyone of a few things to keep in mind..."
"Attention first-year students: No student is allowed to enter the wooded area on the school grounds. Some of us upperclassmen should also remember this."
Andy had already learned some information about the Forbidden Forest from the twins. In any case, Andy had no intention of going there during his first year.
Dumbledore continued, "Furthermore, Mr. Filch, the warden, also asked me to remind everyone not to cast spells in the hallways during breaks."
Andy had a solution for this: Hogwarts has many abandoned rooms, so he could just pick one and practice magic.
"The Quidditch player selection process will take place in the second week of this semester. Students who wish to join the college team should contact Ms. Hodge."
Andy doesn't like Quidditch.
"Finally, I must tell everyone that anyone who does not wish to encounter an accident and die a painful death should not enter the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."
Andy astutely noticed that Dumbledore's wording here was different from that of the Forbidden Forest.
The former means "Do not enter if you do not wish to encounter an accident or die a painful death," while the latter means "No students are allowed to enter."
