Chapter 28 This is the Hogwarts I envision

"Very good, Miss Granger." Professor Flitwick cheerfully called on Hermione's name.

Hermione proudly raised her chin, quickly stood up, and said, "The incantation for the Cleansing Charm is 'Cleanse Anew,' and its effect is to clean up what we consider 'garbage' according to our ideas."

"Very good, Ravenclaw gets a point."

Professor Flitwick seemed very pleased. "Miss Granger is absolutely right. The Cleansing Charm can remove some of what we consider filth. Once you master this spell, you can quickly cleanse yourselves of dirt."

"Like this..."

Professor Flitwick took out his wand and waved it gently.

"Completely cleaned up!"

As Parvati Petil sat in the front row of the classroom, a faint whirlwind seemed to rise around him. When the whirlwind disappeared, all the dirt on Parvati's body was gone, his wizard robes were brand new, and even the unpleasant smell on his body was gone.

Parvati was overjoyed, while the other young Gryffindor wizards looked at Professor Flitwick with anticipation, hoping that he could perform such magic on them as well.

However, Professor Flitwick clearly has no intention of doing that.

He continued, "While the cleansing spell is convenient, it is also very dangerous. If you don't have a clear understanding of what constitutes trash, the cleansing spell will not only fail to work, but may even cause harm."

"Especially when you're cleaning yourself up!"

"Remember this: when we cast a spell, we must be clear about what kind of 'garbage' we want to clean up."

Professor Flitwick then gave an example of a spellcasting failure.

There was once a witch who wanted to use a cleansing spell to remove the hair on her legs, but she ended up removing all the hair on her body, including her head.

After recounting examples of failed spellcasting, Professor Flitwick went on to explain in detail the techniques for casting the Cleansing Spell.

This includes incantations, gestures, the mindset when casting spells, and most importantly, the principles of magic.

The more Andy delved into magic, the more he realized the importance of magical principles in casting spells.

To properly use a cleansing spell, all you need are three things: the incantation, the hand gesture, and the mental clutter you're trying to clear away.

However, if you want to gain a deeper understanding of magic, or even extend its effects beyond its original form, you must grasp the principles of magic.

According to Professor Flitwick, he could even precisely remove all the dirt from a mixture of flour and soil.

"That's all I'll say about this spell for now. Is there anyone else who doesn't understand something?" Professor Flitwick asked.

Andy eagerly raised his hand.

Professor, there's something I don't understand.

Professor Flitwick looked at Andy and, with a smile, called out, "Mr. Collins, please speak!"

Andy organized his thoughts, "Professor, you previously mentioned that cleansing spells can remove some junk according to our understanding. Does this prove that our magic can actually hear our thoughts and sense our emotions?"

"Furthermore, in the usual sense, we perceive garbage as just everyday debris. But if I could forcibly change my perception, could a cleansing spell cleanse something else entirely?"

"besides……"

Andy asked a whole bunch of questions in one go, covering almost every single one that could be related to the cleansing spell.

Professor Flitwick stared at Andy with a completely bewildered expression.

If it weren't for Andy's youthful face, Professor Flitwick would have almost thought that the person he was discussing these issues with was a powerful wizard.

The little wizards in the classroom were completely silent. What on earth was this person saying?

"Ahem!"

Professor Flitwick cleared his throat and said seriously, "Our magic can indeed sense our thoughts and emotions, but this is not something we can control with our conscious will."

"We can use magic to cast spells, but it's difficult to control your own magic freely. Magic is like our blood; it's in our bodies, but can you control your own blood?"

"As for your second question... that's equally difficult. The concepts you've developed in life have been deeply ingrained in your mind through your life experiences, so it's hard for you to deceive yourself."

The third question is...

Professor Flitwick patiently answered all of Andy's questions. Andy was also very excited; he had finally met a reliable professor.

This is the Hogwarts that Andy envisioned.

"Alright, Mr. Collins, do you have any other questions?" Professor Flitwick asked gently.

"That's all, Professor." Andy certainly had a lot more questions, but those questions were unrelated to the cleansing spell and were not suitable to be asked in this class.

Professor Flitwick continued, "And what about the others?"

None of the young wizards spoke.

"Very good. Now that you have no more questions, let's begin the formal practice," Professor Flitwick said.

"Oh! No, no, no! Mr. Weasley, please put down your wand."

Andy quickly turned his head to look.

Ron was pointing his wand at Harry and urging him to take out his own wand as well.

Ron was clearly eager to get rid of the fertilizer on his body.

"I must warn you, you must never use this spell on anyone until you have mastered the Cleansing Charm," Professor Flitwick said solemnly.

After saying that, Professor Flitwick waved his wand.

A small box flew out of the lectern, landing in front of each young wizard and sprinkling some sand on the table in front of them.

Professor Flitwick said, "Let's use a cleansing spell to remove the sand from the table first. Okay, everyone, let's begin!"

"Completely cleaned up!"

"Completely cleaned up!"

The classroom was filled with the sounds of chanting incantations. Andy glanced around; so far, no junior wizard had successfully cast a cleansing spell.

They really are a bunch of academic underachievers.

Of course, the reason these young wizards are unable to cast spells is not because they are truly incompetent. The main reason is that they are not psychologically mature enough and their understanding is not firm enough.

Is the sand on the table trash or a teaching tool?

If you cannot firmly believe that the sand is garbage, then the cleansing spell will never work.

"Completely cleaned up!"

Hermione whispered the incantation, and with a gentle wave of her wand, the sand on the table vanished instantly.

"Well done, Miss Granger, Ravenclaw will add two points for this." Professor Flitwick said excitedly; Ravenclaw has really produced some talented people this year.
