Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Only two useless men are left.

Professor McGonagall gently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first-year students, and on the stool, a wizard's hat. The hat was old, patched, worn, and filthy.

Is this the Sorting Hat?

A magical version of artificial intelligence?

Andy looked at the Sorting Hat with curiosity.

If this were a robot, Andy would at most take a second look.

But it's a magic hat.

Although it may seem similar to artificial intelligence in function, magic always seems more magical.

The hat suddenly began to twist, and the wrinkles on it made it look as if it had gained two extra eyes and a mouth.

Everyone in the auditorium stared at the hat, and the hat itself began to hum and sing.

You might think I'm not pretty.

But never judge a book by its cover.

If you can find a more beautiful hat than mine

I can eat myself.

……

Come on, put me on! Don't be afraid!

Don't panic!

You are absolutely safe in my hands (even though I don't even have one hand).

Because I am a thinking magic hat!

After Hat finished singing, the whole audience erupted in applause.

Everyone seemed to be giving him face, and Andy even heard George and Fred whistling amidst the deafening applause.

I hope Professor McGonagall won't kill you.

The hat bowed to each of the four dining tables, then remained still.

"oh--"

Andy gasped and turned his head to see Hermione glaring at him angrily. Hermione looked at him as if she wanted to devour him.

"It was George and Fred who said it."

Andy said quietly, "But I think they did spend one night after the sorting ceremony—not in the school clinic, but in the school dormitory."

"Hmph!" Hermione snorted softly, her pretty little face still puffed up with anger.

She didn't believe Andy's explanation.

Professor McGonagall glanced at Andy; she had noticed the young wizard earlier.

He doesn't look like a well-behaved student at all.

Professor McGonagall sighed softly; she had a feeling that the House Cup was slipping further and further away from Gryffindor this year.

She didn't feel anything when she was in school, but ever since she became a professor, Professor McGonagall felt that Gryffindor was simply a haven for bad kids.

The most mischievous freshmen each year will definitely be assigned to Gryffindor.

Professor McGonagall had long been dissatisfied with the Sorting Hat.

What's more, this hat sings so terribly.

Professor McGonagall turned her gaze away and took a few steps forward, holding a roll of parchment in her hand.

"When I call someone's name, that person should put on a hat, sit on a stool, and be sorted into a house."

Professor McGonagall read aloud from the parchment: "Hannah Abbott!"

A little girl with rosy cheeks and two golden braids stumbled out of the line. She put on a hat that just covered her eyes.

"Hufflepuff!" the Sorting Hat shouted.

The people at the table on the far right clapped and cheered, and the fat monk ghost also waved happily at her.

"Susan Bornes!"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Terry Boot!"

"Ravenclaw!"

This time, it was the second table on the left that clapped and applauded. When Terry walked to the long table, several Ravenclaw students even stood up and shook hands with him.

The sorting process went quickly, and Andy didn't have to wait long before Professor McGonagall called his name.

"Andy Collins!"

Andy tried to clear his mind as much as possible, trying not to think about anything—this was a strategy Andy had already devised.

Sitting on the four-legged stool, Andy put the Sorting Hat on his head.

To be honest, Andy felt a little silly at that moment.

"Hey! Kid, you don't look stupid. Let me see... You're talented, hardworking, and passionate about magic. I know where you should go."

"Ravenclaw!"

Applause immediately erupted at the Ravenclaw table. Andy breathed a sigh of relief, carefully removed his hat, and placed it on the stool.

Although Andy didn't know how the Sorting Hat worked, his mind was full of things that didn't belong to that era.

Unless absolutely necessary, Andy really didn't want the Sorting Hat to read his thoughts.

Fortunately, everything went smoothly.

For Andy, it didn't really matter which house he went to, since he learned the same things in all four houses.

However, the atmosphere of the college can sometimes really affect others.

Professor McGonagall glanced at Andy with slight surprise. This mischievous little wizard wasn't Gryffindor?

Was the Sorting Hat malfunctioning?

But it's all for the best; at least the Sorting Hat did something worthwhile.

Sensing Professor McGonagall's gaze, Andy turned to look, but Professor McGonagall continued the sorting process as if nothing had happened.

"That just now... it couldn't have been my imagination, right?"

Andy was somewhat surprised. Could it be that Professor McGonagall had discovered his one-in-a-million talent?

When Andy reached the Ravenclaw table, several older students warmly invited him to sit next to them. Andy thanked them and then casually found a seat.

The branch school continued, and soon Andy arrived at someone he knew.

"Hermione Granger!" Professor McGonagall read aloud.

Hermione practically ran to the stool and hurriedly put the hat on her head.

The Sorting Ceremony lasted a long time, and Andy noticed that Hermione seemed to be whispering something to the Sorting Hat.

After about two or three minutes, the Sorting Hat shouted, "Ravenclaw!"

puff--

Luckily, Andy hadn't drunk any water, otherwise he might have sprayed it all over the person's face.

What's going on?

Shouldn't Hermione be a Gryffindor?

How did she get into Ravenclaw?

For the first time, Andy clearly realized that the butterfly effect triggered by the time traveler had begun.

Fortunately, none of this had anything to do with Andy.

From the very beginning of his transmigration, Andy already regarded this place as a completely new world, rather than a movie he had seen in his previous life.

Since it's a completely new world, there's naturally no plot to speak of.

As for the feud between the Savior and Voldemort, that's just someone else's story.

Andy will have her own story.

The world is vast, and even at the height of Voldemort's power, he couldn't conquer the British Ministry of Magic. This savior image is largely fabricated.

only…

The original trio of saviors had already been criticized by fans of the previous life as "Hermione and her two useless men." Now that Hermione is gone, only two useless men remain.

How miserable!

Best of luck to you.

Hermione walked over and sat down next to Andy amidst applause.

Andy chuckled, "Welcome to Ravenclaw!"

"Thanks!"

Hermione proudly raised her chin. "I think you're right. A quieter learning environment might suit me better. The Sorting Hat said Ravenclaw and Gryffindor would both be good fits for me, but I chose Ravenclaw."
