Voldemort Could Never Curse - Defense Against the Dark Arts
Chapter 37 Voldemort Could Never Curse - Defense Against the Dark Arts
"That's a surprise. I thought you wouldn't sign autographs," Andy said casually as they walked toward the auditorium.
"I did hesitate..."
Hermione said hesitantly, "Professor Quirrell might have some reason for his predicament. Maybe he really was attacked by a vampire..."
At this point, Hermione paused for a moment, then continued, "However, he's definitely not suited for the professorship. Hopefully, he can find a new job!"
As they spoke, the two arrived at the auditorium.
As soon as Andy entered the Great Hall, he noticed that some of the young wizards were acting mysteriously, as if they knew a secret but couldn't tell him.
Meanwhile, another group of young wizards were asking around, eager to know what had happened at Hogwarts and why they were the only ones who didn't know.
Has Harry Potter lost points again?
Is Dumbledore getting married?
Even if you can't say it, giving me a hint would be helpful!
As soon as Andy and Hermione sat down at the Ravenclaw table, Anthony immediately came over.
He gestured to Andy with his eyes, then whispered, "Andy, do you know about that?"
"A signature?" Andy raised an eyebrow.
Anthony's face lit up. "What are you thinking? I mean, do you support this?"
"certainly!"
Andy replied matter-of-factly, "We can't gamble with our future, can we?"
Anthony nodded in agreement. "Defense Against the Dark Arts textbooks should teach us how to protect ourselves, but Professor Quirrell is completely incompetent."
"And I heard..."
Anthony beckoned Andy and Hermione closer, then said mysteriously, "I heard from upperclassmen that Defense Against the Dark Arts has been cursed by a mysterious person, and no professor can serve for more than a year."
Is that true?
So, does that mean Dumbledore was just giving Hermione the runaround?
Hermione clearly didn't believe it, and she immediately pointed out the flaw: "Why would the mysterious man curse Defense Against the Dark Arts? He's so powerful, he has no reason to mess with a subject, right?"
That makes some sense... Andy nodded.
"The mysterious man is the Dark Lord, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts course is specifically designed to deal with him," Anthony explained.
This reason... well... only an idiot would believe it!
"I also think that's simply impossible."
Andy said, "If the Mystic really has such power, why doesn't he curse the Headmaster of Hogwarts?"
"Perhaps it's because the headmaster of Hogwarts is Dumbledore, the only wizard that Vander is afraid of," Anthony said.
Too lazy to argue about it, Andy picked up a fork, forked a pie, and started eating.
Ron and Harry appeared furtively at the entrance of the Great Hall.
The two stood at the door for a while, looking around. Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, they crouched down and entered the hall.
"Where did George and Fred go? They didn't even bring us any food at noon."
Ron complained with a pained expression, "I'm starving."
Harry didn't say anything. He planned to grab some food and run out of the Great Hall when the opportunity presented itself, then hurry back to his dormitory.
He doesn't want to see anyone these next few days if possible.
"Hey, Harry!"
Ron suddenly exclaimed with delight, "I've got an idea! We can eat at the long table in Ravenclaw; maybe no one will notice us there!"
Harry was taken aback when he heard this, but it wasn't entirely impossible.
Ron grabbed Harry's arm. "I see Andy. Let's go over there quickly."
When Andy saw Ron and Harry appear, he was a little confused. "What are you doing here at Ravenclaw's?"
As he spoke, Andy even moved the two of them to a slightly different spot.
"Thank you!" Harry said gratefully.
Ron looked bitter. "Don't even mention it! We've been tricked! Andy, you have to help us."
Andy was about to ask me how he could help when Ron continued, "We're starving, and George and Fred brought us breakfast—could we get something to eat here?"
That's it?
Okay, I overestimated you guys.
"sure!"
Andy nodded, then asked curiously, "That thing—why did you guys suddenly go out for a night stroll?"
Hermione, sitting on the other side of Andy, also perked up her ears upon hearing this.
Gossiping is human nature, and the little witch is no exception.
"We've been tricked!"
Ron said indignantly, "Malfoy invited us to a duel in the prize room tonight, but not only did he not show up, he also notified Filch."
Andy: "..."
Hermione said sternly, "How can you duel in private? If the professors find out, you'll be expelled from Hogwarts!"
"Shh!"
Andy put a finger to his lips and explained to Hermione, "This is something you can't refuse, even if it means being expelled from school."
Hermione glared at Andy, clearly displeased with what he said.
"This is a matter of a man's dignity. Hermione, you must have things you care about too, right?" Andy countered.
Hermione thought about it carefully, then nodded slightly; of course, she also had things she cared about.
Thinking about it that way, she could understand it.
Although it's childish.
Ron said indignantly, "Andy is right, this is a duel about honor, and we absolutely cannot run away from it!"
Harry nodded in agreement; this made him feel a little better.
God knows how desperate Professor McGonagall felt when he deducted a hundred points from their score.
However, losing points is at least better than being expelled.
Harry simply couldn't imagine the consequences of being expelled from Hogwarts.
Although he had been at Hogwarts for less than a week, he knew he belonged there.
Andy slapped his forehead. These two idiots—I've already given them such obvious hints, and they still still don't understand.
"But Malfoy avoided the duel!" Andy said meaningfully.
Hermione gave Andy a strange look. How could this guy be so wicked?
He was helping Malfoy devise a plan to deal with Professor Quirrell in the morning, and by evening he was helping Ron and Harry devise a plan to deal with Malfoy?
Even jumping left and right isn't as fast as you!
"Malfoy is a coward!" Ron said with a look of disdain.
Uh... fine, whatever you want.
Andy shrugged; he'd be a dog if he got involved in this.
Moreover, given Harry and Ron's intelligence, they are probably not suited to carry out any plans.
"Dear little Ronnie, what are you doing here?" George and Fred had somehow gotten in as well.
"If you call that name again, I'll kill you all!"
"Where did you all go?"
Ron complained, "Harry and I have been waiting for you all afternoon, and we're starving."
George put his arm around Ron's shoulder. "You'll have to face this sooner or later."
Fred chimed in, "And it's not a big deal."
George continued, "At most, it'll break Hogwarts' record—losing a hundred points in less than a week."
