Chapter 25

: With the money in hand, even Death has to let the man go.

The once arrogant Thor was now limp and lifeless in the mud.

He stared blankly at the motionless Mjolnir, letting the raindrops lash his face.

There was no roar, no struggle.

The soul named Thor seemed to have died just now beside this hammer.

"take away."

Coulson's voice pierced through the rain, carrying a barely perceptible sigh.

Two heavily armed agents approached, their stun guns activated.

They roughly pulled Thor out of the mud and tied his hands behind his back.

Click.

The sound of cold handcuffs fastening on the wrists was particularly jarring in the rainy night.

To'er offered no resistance and followed them away with lifeless eyes.

Inside the command center.

Li Ang looked at the disheveled figure on the screen and poured the last handful of popcorn into his mouth.

"Tsk, this is God."

"He really looked pitiful just now."

Coulson lowered his binoculars, his brow furrowed.

"Pitiful?" Li Ang chuckled, stood up and straightened his collar. "No, this is just tuition for his growth. It's expensive, but it's better than dying in that so-called glory."

"Let's go see our prince."

"And by the way, remind your people not to let that astrophysicist Jane Foster barge in. Tell her to go have a cup of hot tea and not ruin my business."

……

Inside the temporary base's isolation room, the lights were a stark, glaring white.

There is no furniture here, only a metal table fixed to the ground and two chairs.

One-way glass isolates this place from the outside world, creating a suffocating sense of oppression.

Thor sat in the chair, soaked to the bone, mud dripping from his trousers onto the floor, forming a small puddle.

He lowered his head, looking at his reflection on the stainless steel tabletop.

The reflection looked disheveled and dejected, with eyes filled with self-doubt.

Why can't he lift Mjolnir?

Did his father really abandon him?

Is he still... Thor?

Just then, the air suddenly rippled like water.

A magical fluctuation, detectable only by Asgardians, silently spread through the cramped interrogation room.

Thor seemed to sense something and suddenly looked up.

Before him, in a corner that had been empty, a familiar figure appeared out of nowhere.

The man appeared gentle and refined, with a compassionate smile on his face, but deep in his eyes lurked a coldness as sharp as a venomous snake.

"Loki?" Thor's eyes widened in disbelief, his voice hoarse. "You... how did you get here?"

"I've come to see you, brother."

Loki stepped forward slowly, his deceitful eyes filled with feigned concern. "Seeing you like this breaks my heart."

"Loki! Take me back!"

Thor, as if grasping at a straw, stood up and slammed the handcuffs against the table with a loud bang. "I'm going to see my father! I need to explain to him! This is just a misunderstanding!"

Loki's expression froze for a moment, then he revealed an extremely sad look.

He lowered his head, avoiding Thor's expectant gaze.

"That's why I'm here, Thor."

Loki's voice was low and trembling with sobs, "My father... he's passed away."

boom!

It was as if an invisible thunderbolt had struck Thor on the top of his head.

His pupils contracted sharply, and his breathing stopped for a moment.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

Thor's lips trembled, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace. "Father, he is the father of all gods, how could he possibly..."

"It's true."

Loki looked up, his eyes slightly red. "Your exile, plus the threat of war..."

"This series of blows was too heavy for him. His divine power was already waning, and after falling into Odin's slumber, he never woke up again."

This blow struck Thor in the softest, most guilty place in his heart.

Was it me... who killed my father?

Thor's legs buckled, and he slumped heavily back into his chair.

Guilt overwhelmed him like a tidal wave, making it hard for him to breathe.

"I now inherit the throne."

Loki walked to Thor's side and gently placed a hand on his shoulder, seemingly to comfort him, but actually to apply final pressure.

"I want to lift your exile order, but..."

Loki sighed. "This was my father's dying wish, and it was for the peace of Asgard."

"If you return, the truce with the Frost Giants will be nullified, and war will break out again."

"and……"

Loki leaned down and whispered in Thor's ear, delivering the final blow, "Even your mother doesn't want you back..."

Even my mother doesn't want me anymore?

At that moment, the light in Thor's eyes went out completely.

All pride, all hope, all perseverance crumbled in the face of this series of lies.

He was not merely a mortal who had lost his powers.

He was a sinner who caused his father's death, was rejected by his mother, and was driven out of his home.

"I see……"

Thor lowered his head, his voice as soft as a bursting bubble, "Apologize to Mother for me."

"I will."

Loki looked at the completely devastated Thor, a barely perceptible sneer flashing across his face as he turned away.

This is what he wanted.

An older brother who will forever rot in the mud.

Farewell, Thor.

Loki's figure began to fade and eventually disappeared into thin air, as if he had never been there.

The isolation room returned to deathly silence.

In this strange world, Thor truly became a destitute and lost soul.

……

One-way glass outside.

Although Coulson couldn't hear the conversation inside, he couldn't help but be moved by Thor's tearful appearance.

"Who is he talking to? The air?" Coulson asked, puzzled. "The monitoring equipment isn't showing any heat source reaction."

"He was talking to his brother Loki."

Li Ang took a sip of his still-warm coffee, a glint of shrewdness flashing in his eyes.

"You mean Loki?" Coulson exclaimed in surprise.

Li Ang put down his coffee cup, straightened his collar, and put on a professional fake smile. "Alright, the customer's emotions have been built up, it's time for the professional salesperson to step in."

"What do you want to do?"

"Go do what needs to be done."

Li Ang pointed to Thor in the isolation room, "Give him a second option besides death."

The door to the isolation room slid open with a whoosh.

Thor didn't look up and became unresponsive to everything around him.

"Oh, isn't this our Lord Thor?"

A familiar and irritating voice rang out from above.

Thor raised his head somewhat numbly.

The young man who had thrown the rotten apple at him on the road was now standing in front of him.

A bizarrely designed gashapon machine appeared behind him, its face bearing an infuriatingly bright smile.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying like a 200-pound child?"

Li Ang pulled out a handkerchief and disdainfully threw it onto Thor's face, which was covered in snot and tears.

Thor did not fly into a rage because of the offensive remark.

He just stared blankly at Li Ang, his voice hoarse as if it had been rubbed against sandpaper: "Did you come here to laugh at me? Mortal."

"Watching a joke? No, no, no, I'm a respectable businessman, I would never do such a despicable thing."

Li Ang pulled out a chair, sat down opposite Thor with an air of authority, and lightly tapped the glass casing of the gashapon machine with his fingers, producing a crisp sound.

"I'm here to give you a chance, Thor."

Li Ang leaned forward, his dark eyes seeming to see right through people's hearts.

"Do you want to bring your dad back to life? Do you want to get your hammer back? Do you want to... rub your lying brother into the ground?"

Thor's previously gloomy eyes trembled violently upon hearing the word "resurrection."

But his spirits soon faded again.

"You're a madman." Thor shook his head. "No one can reverse life and death, not even God."

"Just because God can't do it doesn't mean I can't."

Li Ang snapped his fingers, and the golden gashapon in the gashapon machine lit up for a moment in response.

"Let me introduce myself, Li Ang, the only gashapon merchant in all the heavens and myriad worlds."

"In your eyes, I am just an ordinary person."

"But in my eyes, the so-called Asgardian gods..."

Li Ang's lips curled into an extremely arrogant smile. "They're just slightly stronger alien clients."

"As long as the money is right, I can pull him back from the brink of death for you."

"Now, shall we talk about this business?"
