Chapter 45

Tony: With me here, there is peace in the world!

Malibu villa, underground laboratory.

"Jarvis, scan this thing and remove all unnecessary architectural structures."

Tony was carrying a still-humming chainsaw, his goggles covered in shavings and dust.

The model that housed the Stark Expo site had been dismantled into eight pieces like a package being unpacked.

"It's being processed, sir."

Jarvis's British accent echoed in the room, "Although I must warn you, Miss Potts might tear me apart if she saw this."

"Don't worry about Pepper, she'll understand... probably."

Tony gave a casual, perfunctory reply, his eyes burning with fervor and focus.

As the blue light from the holographic projection swept across the tattered model, the originally chaotic roads, exhibition halls, and green belts began to reassemble in the air.

The unwanted lines gradually faded away, and the remaining light paths intertwined and swirled in the air.

one second.

two seconds.

When the final impurities were filtered out, what floated in front of Tony was no longer a park model, but a series of perfect atomic structure diagrams.

Tony slowly removed his goggles, his breath catching in his throat.

He reached out and gently touched the illusory light and shadow with his fingertips, as if he had traveled through twenty years and touched the back of the man who always had his back to him.

"Look, Tony, this is the culmination of my life's work."

"I am limited by my time, but I leave the key to you."

"You are my greatest invention."

Li Ang's words and images of his father during his lifetime intertwined and overlapped in his mind.

Tony's eyes reddened slightly, but he quickly raised the corners of his mouth, revealing that arrogant smile.

"He's been dead for twenty years and he's still lecturing me..."

He murmured softly, his voice choked with emotion, "Well done, Dad."

This element does not exist in the current periodic table.

In theory, it can replace palladium, providing a cleaner, more powerful, and non-toxic energy source.

"Jarvis, what's needed to synthesize this new element?"

"The particle accelerator needs to be rebuilt, sir."

"And it requires an extremely high energy impact. Incidentally, our current equipment may not be able to accomplish this without destroying the building."

"Then let's tear the house down!"

Tony waved his hand and grabbed the design drawings next to him. "But before that, I have to go to Washington and deal with a few buzzing flies."

……

The following day, Washington, D.C.

Scene from a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.

The spotlights, like a violent thunderstorm, illuminated the entire hall in minute detail.

Senator Stern sat on the high platform, his fat face etched with greed.

Across from him, Tony was idly swishing his chair, even turning his back to the serious-looking congressmen and giving a flirtatious wink to the beautiful female reporter in the back row.

"Mr. Stark, please be serious!"

Stern banged his gavel. "Today we're discussing the ownership of Iron Man's weapons!"

"I don't think there's anything to discuss."

Tony turned around, spreading his hands. "If I don't give it to you, are you planning to take it from me? I don't recommend you do that, after all, my friend has a bit of a temper."

Thinking of Leon, who could slice hatred into pieces, Tony couldn't help but shudder, then quickly resumed his smug expression.

Is this a threat?

Stern narrowed his eyes. "We've invited weapons expert Mr. Hammer. Let him tell everyone about your personal motives."

Hammer strode in through the side door.

He was all smiles, trying to project a confidence on par with Tony's, but the cheapness emanating from him was impossible to hide.

"Hi everyone, I'm Justin Hammer."

He straightened his tie. "Actually, given enough resources, the Iron Man armor can be replicated, and..."

"Excuse me, can I interrupt for a moment?"

Tony suddenly raised his hand, like a primary school student asking a question in class, "What kind of expert is this vacuum cleaner salesman?"

The whole audience burst into laughter.

Hammer's smile froze on his face, his anger causing his lips to twitch.

"I am the CEO of Hammer Industries..."

"Oh, Hammer Industries."

Tony nodded in sudden realization. "The company that showcased their missile at the expo, but it failed to fire?"

"I heard you guys are working on something lately... a bionic exoskeleton?"

"It's advanced tactical assault armor!" Hammer corrected through gritted teeth.

"Whatever it's called."

Tony pulled a transparent phone from his pocket and swiped it rapidly. "Since you've brought up replication, how about we take a look at Hammer Industries' masterpiece?"

"What are you going to do?" Stern had a bad feeling.

"Here's some videos to watch while you're eating." Tony snapped his fingers. "Jarvis, take over the screen."

The next second, all the screens at the hearing went black, and then Hammer Industries' internal test recordings appeared.

In the video, a bulky-looking armored vehicle is undergoing a test flight.

"This is our prototype, it's very safe..." Hammer boasted in the video.

Immediately afterwards, the armored vehicle began to shake violently in the air, as if it were having a Parkinson's attack.

Click!

With the waist thrusters malfunctioning, the tester's upper and lower body twisted 180 degrees.

Even through the screen, everyone could almost hear the sound of the driver's spine breaking.

"Oh ho! This is what they call an expert?"

Tony covered his mouth, feigning exaggerated horror. "Are you planning to reduce our military's disability compensation this way? Just fold them up and pack them up?"

"That was an accident! It was an initial accident!"

Hammer jumped up, sweating profusely, to block the screen, but with so many screens, his action only made people less convinced.

Senator Stern's face was as black as the bottom of a pot: "Stark! This is a hearing, not your talk show!"

"This is exactly what my talk show is all about, dear senator."

Tony stood up, his nonchalant attitude gone, replaced by the oppressive aura of someone accustomed to a high position.

He walked to the front of the stage, placed his hands on the table, and scanned everyone present with his eyes.

"You want my armor? Don't even think about it."

"The armor and I are one. I'm sorry, I don't sell myself."

He turned around, facing the countless flashing cameras, and raised his hand to give a thumbs up.

"With Iron Man around, there is peace."

After saying that, he blew a kiss to Stern, and then, under the stunned gazes of the entire audience, casually put on his sunglasses.

"Jenny, Jelly!"

The five little creatures jumped onto the table and launched a spitting attack on Stern and Hanmo.

After doing all that, they turned and chased after Tony.

"Fuck fuck!"

Stern pounded his gavel in a fit of impotent rage, while Hammer wore a constipated expression, as if he had just eaten a dead fly.

……

Tony did not rest upon returning to Malibu.

If the hearing is the appetizer, then what follows is the main course.

"Sir, are you really going to smash up a $30 million mansion for an experiment that might fail?"

Jarvis's tone was helpless, but he could only offer his opinion.

Out with the old, in with the new.

boom!

Tony smashed open the load-bearing wall with a hammer, revealing the complex network of pipes inside.

For the next three hours, Stark Mansion was transformed into a construction site.

Huge pipes run through the living room, study, and even the bedroom, finally converging at the center of the laboratory.

Tony casually picked up a round shield that was placed under the level.

Everything is ready.

Tony put on a simple protective suit and stood at one end of the prism's focal point.

"Jarvis, activate the Prism Accelerator."

"Full power, sir."

hum! ! !

The deafening roar of energy filled the entire space.

A dazzling blue-white beam of light shot out from the end of the pipe, accelerating and refracting countless times, rushing towards the finish line with an aura of destruction.

Tony gritted his teeth, gripped the dial, and struggled to adjust the focus of the beam.

The air was filled with the smell of ionized ozone—the smell of power, and the smell of the future.

"Give me... the shape!"

Tony roared and yanked the handle hard.

The beam of light kept converging and pouring into the triangular mold.

A blinding burst of light erupted, turning the entire laboratory into a snowy white.

A few seconds later, the light faded.

An inverted triangular crystal, radiating stable yet containing terrifying energy, lay quietly on its base.

The light reflected in Tony's pupils was more dazzling than the stars.

There was no poisoning.

There is no energy decay.

This is a brand new life.

"Howard, you old bastard..."

Tony removed his slightly charred gloves and gently stroked the new element with his fingertips. "You win this time."

……

Meanwhile, in New York, on the second-floor balcony of a gashapon shop.

Li Ang lay on the rocking chair, basking in the sun.

He opened his mouth, and she would easily put the peeled grapes into it.

Li Ang looked at Tony's arrogant appearance on TV and gently shook his head.

"Tsk, this guy still loves to show off as always."

Li Ang took a sip of cola and let out a long burp.

He glanced at the online store today and sighed helplessly.

"No memorable scenes, no good stuff, so boring!"

"Has Coulson finished his report yet? And why hasn't that damn Fuck guy brought the money yet?"

Jane suddenly popped up, "Boss, since you're feeling bored, why don't we have a deeper conversation..."
