Chapter 44
Two Experiments
Chapter 44 Two Experiments
If the "mutated eyeball" falls into the hands of an official extraordinary being, it may be used as material for some poisons or destroyed directly.
Hobert has never been an official superhuman, nor does he consider issues from the perspective of an official superhuman.
In his view, in this metropolis of five million people, having one more "mutated eyeball" would not make it more evil, nor would having one less "mutated eyeball" make it more beautiful.
Converting these things into cash would allow him to strengthen himself and be safer in this world, which would be enough for him. With his current strength, there was no need for him to think too much about it.
Seeing that Hobart was an expert, Garr didn't try to drive the price down too much. After friendly negotiations, they finally settled on a price of 85 pounds.
Hopper put 5 pounds in his wallet as a commission for "fencing stolen goods," and then wrapped 80 pounds in paper to wait until he sold the "Mystic's" extraordinary qualities before splitting the profits with Hugh.
Hobert didn't intend to sell the "Mystic's" extraordinary qualities to Gar. He wanted to wait until the gathering to make his move. Firstly, the golden-masked man would be there to protect him, and secondly, it would be a stepping stone to integrate into the gathering.
Most of the participants in that gathering were soldiers, and they naturally had a foundation of mutual trust. People like Hobart who had never served in the military were rare. To fully integrate into their circle, one needed to make several deals at the gathering to prove one's reliability.
After completing the transaction with Gar, Hobart went to the information wall on the third floor and asked a waiter to leave a message: I have a batch of jewelry and gold that I need to sell, worth approximately £1500.
Hopper planned to sell the valuables and then give the cash to Mr. Robin and his cousin. If they were to sell them on their own, they would easily attract unwanted attention.
With such powerful backing, the Mercenary Club is a place where ordinary people wouldn't dare to break the trading rules.
After leaving his information, Hobart, seeing that it was still early, ordered a cup of tea and rested in the sofa area of the lobby.
He's been on the go for the past two days and has started to miss his time on campus at Backlund University. He promised two classmates he'd treat them to a meal, but he hasn't kept that promise yet.
Hobart remembered that one of his classmates' families was a judge and the other a wealthy businessman. He knew he would definitely need their connections in the future, so he should make time to maintain them.
He held the newspaper in his hand, but didn't read a single letter; he was preoccupied with various problems.
After a while, Hobart belatedly realized that he had become accustomed to the lifestyle of this era and would build his own network of connections whenever he had the chance.
Life on Earth, no, life in the Common Era, is gradually becoming a distant memory.
Just as he was filled with emotion, he overheard two soldiers beside him discussing, "Shouldn't the battle in the Southern Continent have begun by now?"
"How could it be so fast? They left last Sunday night, and it's only Wednesday afternoon!"
"Hehe, you didn't know, did you? They went to the Southern Continent in a military airship!"
"What? A military airship?"
"I think those sons of bitches from Fusak will be just as surprised as you when our people ambush them!"
"The military is really willing to spend money!"
"The military's resolve is beyond question!"
"The rewards for this operation are sure to be very generous..."
Hobert stared straight at the newspaper, but his mind was racing: This was the aftermath of the retaliation against the Fursacs. Although the military hadn't directly intervened, they had provided the mercenaries with many conveniences.
Around five o'clock, Hobart finished his last sip of tea, went to the restroom, and then went out to the street to take a horse-drawn carriage home.
Dinner was as pleasant as usual. After the meal, the family chatted over tea for a while before returning to their rooms.
Hobart was going to conduct two experiments tonight. He locked the door from the inside, first building a "spiritual wall," then lighting candles on the table according to the "dualistic method," and finally drawing a simplified throne on the table with a circular symbol representing distortion on it.
Simple patterns and symbols form the symbol for the "Black Emperor," which Hobert noticed on the back of his chair during the "Tarot Meeting."
Because of the special nature of "Source Castle", theoretically, this symbol should represent his own symbol, which is why he designed this experiment.
Finally, Hobart took out the extraordinary qualities of the "Mystic" and placed them in the center of the makeshift altar.
Once everything was ready, he chanted in Hermes: "O Creator in the shadow of order;
"You are the source and the end of all order;"
"You are the master of the laws that hold the clock of order."
"Your faithful servant begs for your gaze;"
"Please accept his offering;"
"I pray that you will open the gates of your kingdom."
Inside the wall of spirituality, a strange whirlwind suddenly arose, and a patch of darkness appeared on the roof that seemed capable of swallowing everything.
Hobart hadn't expected such a commotion, so he quickly entered the "Land of Chaos" by walking in reverse.
Sitting on the Iron Throne, Hobert saw two bronze doors appear in the air at the end of the pool in front of him, and he could faintly hear his own prayers.
Firstly, this demonstrates that his three-part title can indeed point to himself on the Iron Throne. He had long wanted to test this, but had never had the time.
Then Hobert discovered a star emitting a white light in the pool in front of the Iron Throne. His spirituality spread to the star, and sure enough, he saw himself in front of the makeshift altar in his bedroom.
Hobert used the real perspective of the "Land of Chaos" to seriously examine himself. Yesterday's psychic object, Zachary, was already showing signs of losing control and had been clearly contaminated.
Hobert's "Astral Body" and "Spiritual Body" are "filtered" by the "Disordered Kingdom," so there's no need to worry about them being contaminated by Zachary. However, the concern is that the contamination might use spirituality as a springboard to corrupt his "Mental Body" and "Ethereal Body," since Zachary clearly had these two layers contaminated.
Under "real vision," all the colors of my body look normal, except that I look somewhat tired.
It seems I used my spirituality too much yesterday, which caused physical fatigue.
Hobert, on the Iron Throne, withdrew his spirituality. The first experiment was a success; the name he had designed was effective. So he began the second experiment.
His spirituality spread to the bronze doors, and the two doors opened a small crack, through which he could roughly see the situation on the altar.
With a reach, the extraordinary qualities of the "Secret Prayer" on the makeshift altar entered the "Land of Chaos" and fell before the Iron Throne.
It worked!
He rubbed his forehead, realizing he had used up a lot of his spiritual energy.
If there are any extraordinary materials or properties in the future, they can be stored in the "Land of Chaos" so that they won't be discovered or stolen by others.
The success of the experiment put Hobart in a great mood. He returned to his bedroom, intending to rest and regain his spirituality before proceeding with the next gifting ritual, bringing out the extraordinary qualities of the "Mystic".
As soon as Hobert returned to his body, he heard a knock on the door and Christine's question: "Hobert, are you alright? I sense an unusual power in your room!"
Please vote for me!
