The Throne of the "Disordered Kingdom"

Chapter 8 The Throne of the "Disordered Kingdom"

Christine looked at the dark black potion and gave a final reminder: "You have one last chance to back out. Drink it and you will become an extraordinary being, bidding farewell to the life of an ordinary person forever."

Hobart picked up the beaker: "While I haven't lost my courage to forge ahead."

He drank the potion in one gulp. As soon as the dark potion entered his stomach, Hobert began to tremble involuntarily. For a moment, the world before his eyes seemed to distort.

At the same time, Hobart heard intermittent whispers in his ears, so indistinct that he couldn't even make out what they were saying.

He soon realized that in previous eras, only Solomon had successfully ascended to the position of Black Emperor, but he perished in the war between the Four Emperors. Later, because Roselle became the new Black Emperor, he completely lost the possibility of being reborn.

Therefore, Solomon has almost no effect on lower-level extraordinary beings of the same sequence, and Roselle is in a very bad state. Hobert can't remember exactly how bad it is, but it seems that knowing the Emperor's state will cause it to be contaminated. In short, the Emperor is also unable to affect lower-level extraordinary beings of the same sequence at this time.

Because there are no existing true gods or high-sequence beings in the "lawyer path," extraordinary individuals in this path do not hear obvious whispers when they ascend.

Then Hobart noticed a wooden board on the bookshelf with two small cracks, and a book cover with a small dent.

Based on what he observed, Hobart deduced that the bookshelf would begin to break down from that wooden plank, and the book would begin to break down from that small dent.

This is the flaw in the bookshelf and the books!

But then, the strange vision disappeared, and the involuntary trembling disappeared as well.

Seeing that Hobert's condition had stabilized, Christine poured him and herself a glass of the white wine they had just used: "Although mastering Sequence 9 potions isn't that difficult, congratulations still."

"Thank you." Hobart took the glass, clinked it with Christine's, and they each drank it down in one gulp.

Christine put away the potion recipe, and the two of them sat back down at the desk.

Christine began to explain the main abilities of a "lawyer": "I heard your father say that a lawyer can use the information he sees and hears to find the weaknesses of things in front of him or his opponents."

"But you have to be careful when you're fighting, because enemies are usually aware of their own weaknesses, so they are likely to have ways to protect those weaknesses."

"In addition, your eloquence will become very good, and you can twist some simple ideas of others, but it is best to use it when the opponent is not on guard."

He shrugged: "That's all I know. You'll have to figure out the other abilities and things to be aware of on your own."

Christine then began to teach Hobart how to turn his psychic vision on and off. However, the "lawyer's" psychic vision could not see a person's "etheric body" and "spiritual body," but could only see the obvious flaws in the scenery or people in front of him.

But when Hobart used his spiritual vision to examine Christine, he could not find any weaknesses in her.

Christine smiled and said, "You must remember that when you can't see any flaws in someone, it often means that the person in front of you is currently unbeatable."

Hobart was taken aback; his self-praise was quite refreshing and unconventional.

He then realized that Christine was likely a strong "middle-order" individual.

Christine then went on to share some remarkable knowledge, including "role modeling," before concluding, "I'll arrange for you to work as a paralegal at a law firm the day after tomorrow or Thursday. I hope you'll find the essentials of being a lawyer there."

Only at the very end of the conversation did Hobart have the chance to ask, "Who cursed my family, or rather, the Heller family?"

Hobert's biological father's full name was Rex Heller. After Christine adopted Hobert, Hobert took his adoptive father's surname.

Christine seemed to recall something from the past, and after more than half a minute, she said, "I promised Rex that I would only tell you the whole truth after you have fully mastered the Sequence 8 potion. Oh, the whole truth that I know."

"You will face another choice then, and the less you know before that, the better."

Hobart nodded. "Okay."

Since the other party wouldn't tell him, he planned to familiarize himself with the lawyer's abilities and then use the information about his biological father to investigate it himself.

The conversation ended there. As Hobart closed the study door, he saw Christine behind the desk, seemingly lost in thought, sitting there in a daze.

After leaving the study, Hobart thought of a question: How did Christine know that she was showing signs of losing control?

He had been away on a business trip for more than half a month. Before he left, Hobart's madness wasn't so intense, and no one noticed anything unusual.

It must have been after Christine went on her business trip that someone noticed Hobert's unusual behavior and informed Christine.

Hobart quickly came up with two possibilities: his foster mother Monissa and his housekeeper Valck.

However, Hobart's speculation ends here. There's no point in continuing to speculate, and there's no need to verify it. It's enough to know for yourself.

When it was time for dinner, Christine returned to her usual self, chatting and laughing with her family, and occasionally bickering with her daughter.

The family atmosphere was quite good, except that Hobart felt somewhat distant and rarely spoke at the dinner table.

After dinner, Hobart read for a while, but soon became so sleepy that he could barely keep his eyes open.

He didn't sleep well yesterday, and today he attended a tarot gathering and took a magic potion, leaving him physically and mentally exhausted.

Unbeknownst to him, Hobart once again entered the "Land of Chaos" in his dream.

The difference is that he used to always appear near the ancient village at the foot of the "Land of Chaos", but now he appears on the mountaintop.

There is a chair here that looks like it's made of stone or jade. It stands in the grass and is covered with moss. It seems to be part of the mountain.

In front of the chair, there is a huge pool of water. The water in the pool is pitch black, but strangely, you can see the rocks at the bottom of the lake.

In the pitch-black water, countless white, star-like orbs of light shimmered, drifting slowly like jellyfish, appearing almost alive.

Hobart sat down on the stone bench thoughtfully, and in that instant he felt he had established some special connection with the "Land of Chaos".

At that moment, he saw the blurry figure that had been chasing him and screaming earlier drifting towards him. The figure seemed to become clearer, and he could tell that it was a man.

Hobart waved his hand toward the black pool, and the blurry figure was stuffed into it.

The figure struggled in the pool, but couldn't get out.

Hobart immediately realized that he had now become an Extraordinary and had a certain degree of control over the "Disorderly Kingdom".
