Chapter 1

Arkham: A Land of Talent

Chapter 1 Arkham: A Land of Talent

Gotham, a city once shrouded in chaos and violence.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Commissioner Gordon, the light of justice, the inmates were imprisoned one by one in Blackgate Prison and Arkham Asylum.

Beneath its tranquil exterior for many years lies darkness within darkness, brewing madness within madness.

The high-walled Arkham Asylum housed many notorious criminals who were feared by the public.

Of course, Arkham Asylum is a well-known medical institution that not only houses notorious lunatics, but also treats mental patients from all walks of life.

The Penguin, known as the Gotham Little Zebra and a figurehead who controls both the underworld and the legitimate world, has graduated from Arkham and is now studying at Blackgate Prison.

"I am the knight of justice walking in the darkness, the embodiment of fear for all criminals—the clown, the scarecrow, the riddle man, the two-faced man, and many other cruel perpetrators. I will watch over you forever."

A man wearing a black cloak and a bat-shaped mask leaned against the cracked windowsill.

His eyes never left the numerous criminals.

"Allen, it's time to take your medicine."

An overweight Black female nurse, wearing a tight-fitting nurse's uniform, pushed a medicine cart and handed over the medication for her mental illness that day.

Allen declared righteously, "Beautiful Lady Catherine, you have mistaken me for someone else. I am the Dark Knight, Batman."

"I have to admit, it's really pleasant chatting with you."

Catherine couldn't hide her joy. From childhood, she had always been ridiculed for being fat, even though her partner sometimes used it to humiliate her.

It wasn't until she started working as a nurse at the dreaded Arkham Asylum and met Allen that a smile gradually appeared on her face.

She knew the other person was a mentally ill lunatic, but she couldn't resist his sweet talk.

"Allen, don't steal curtains from the dean's office next time. There are plenty in the storage room. I put them in the second drawer of the first row. Also, you tore up Dean Quixey's treasured limited edition Playboy magazine, and he's already furious. He might put you in solitary confinement."

Catherine offered a concerned reminder, expressing her concern that the frail-looking Allen might be punished.

During her work, she discovered that most patients had violent tendencies, except for Allen, who always played the role of a righteous hero and was always law-abiding.

"Thank you so much for your kind reminder. Your kindness is like the stars in the night sky."

Allen held the curtain cape in one hand, covering his face and only revealing his eyes, striking Batman's iconic entrance pose.

The problem is that the bat-shaped mask has a red bikini pattern right in the eye sockets.

"You have such a sweet tongue. It's such a pity, I'm already married and have children."

"I wouldn't mind having another daughter."

"I gave birth to a boy."

Allen grinned mischievously, but Catherine read a different meaning in his eyes and scolded him angrily, "You rascal, take your medicine."

"ah."

"Such a grown-up, and still needs to be fed."

Catherine habitually stuffed the capsule into Allen's mouth, then hurriedly pushed the medicine cart toward the other patients, her face already flushed and dark.

Once the person had gone far away, Allen discreetly spat out the medication.

"I will not allow anyone to take away my right to be an idiot, not anyone."

Allen, whose surname is Ai and given name is Lun, was originally a VIP patient at the Qingshan Rehabilitation Center. One day, while secretly playing with the attending physician's computer, an electric shock occurred, causing him to wake up in Arkham Asylum.

Of course, Allen was not flustered at all. After reviewing classic cases, studying the strategies of leading industries, connecting and cultivating thought models, and opening up the key path to ignite the event, he concluded that as long as there is physical electric shock, he will travel back to Earth again.

My goal in returning to Qingshan Rehabilitation Center was clear: to remove the browser traces from the attending physician's computer.

As a young man with a strong sense of national pride, Allen stated that spending even a single dollar to browse Japanese and Korean content is an act of treason.

"Hey! Dehua, when did you get behind me?"

Ellen was startled like a young girl, instinctively covering her chest with both hands, and looking at the Riddler Edward Nigma with lingering fear.

"I challenge you once again to a duel of wits."

The riddle solver clenched his fists, looked very serious, and raised his voice to deliver the challenge.

Immediately, the criminals in the activity area turned their attention to him and began to shout for a duel.

The guards in the corridor were already used to it.

It was another daily riddle and brain teaser show, which they enjoyed just as much as usual.

"The usual rules."

"no problem."

Set up the arena.

The patients wisely kept quiet.

This is a battle of wits. Mentally ill patients generally think they are very smart, and sometimes they will raise their hands to answer the questions posed by the two of them.

"Ladies and gentlemen."

Arthur's exaggerated gestures drew attention: "I am the referee and commentator for this match."

He gestured with both hands to the left, solemnly introducing, "On the left is the righteous knight, Batman."

Sigh…

This immediately drew boos and scorn from the patients who had gathered around.

Talking about justice in Arkham is as hypocritical as capitalists doing charity.

Allen seemed completely unconcerned, casually nodding to the crowd.

"On the right is Edward the Riddler, the wise man of Gotham."

applause.

whistle.

Some female patients even exposed their bare shoulders and shouted that they wanted to show their love to the riddle monkey.

That's right, this atmosphere is just right.

In Arkham, criminals are highly sought after, and a group of mentally ill people are completely manipulated by the Riddler.

"The duel begins; the loser asks first."

Arthur pointed to Edward, indicating that he wanted to ask a question.

At that moment, Edward pushed up his glasses, his expression turning serious.

"I take you with me at night, and I take you back by day. No one suffers because of having me, but suffers because of my lack. What am I?"

A riddle came out of his mouth, and Edward was filled with pride, as if victory was in sight.

The patients who had come to join in the fun were deep in thought, some scratching their heads, some pulling their hair, and some pounding their heads with their fists. The poor CPU was practically smoking from exhaustion.

"Countdown begins, 10, 9, 8..."

"Sleep".

Allen lowered his voice, and delivered the answer in a magnetic and sexy tone.

For a moment, all eyes fell silent as they turned to the riddle-maker, expecting an announcement that the answer was wrong.

"You're right."

Edward admitted dejectedly that it was easy to see his frustration at not being able to stump his opponent with the riddle he had pondered all night.

"Alan, you're amazing, I want to give you my first kiss."

Poison Ivy Lillian took the opportunity to approach, pouting her lips in preparation for a kiss.

In response, Allen clenched his fists and raised them in front of him, saying sincerely, "My ex and current girlfriend will get jealous, I can't guarantee they won't make a move. Besides, where did you get your first kiss?"

Just kidding, if Lillian took a sip, it would be fatal; she would die instantly from the poison. How could I then use an electric shock to travel back to the Green Mountain Rehabilitation Center and clear the traces on my browser?

"It's my turn. Please listen to the question."

"Why don't they talk to each other when they're cooking a rare steak and a medium steak in the same pan?"

Allen asked a riddle, not a hint-based riddle, but there was no rule against using riddles in the first place.

"Protest! Steak isn't a person, how could it possibly talk?"

"Counter-protest? You're discriminating against steak."

"Protest invalid."

Arthur, with a chilling smile, faced the restless patients and threatened domineeringly, "Anyone who protests again, I'll turn him into a steak."

Arthur's decisive and uncompromising style, which meant that the patients immediately became obedient and waited quietly for the riddle teller to give the answer.

Edward kept wiping his mouth, pushing up his glasses, and wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. After thinking for a long time, he answered cautiously.

"They're not familiar with each other."

Congratulations, you got it right.

The patients cheered loudly, praising the riddle solver's extraordinary intelligence without reservation.

Edward breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that he had made it through the first round.

"If you know me, you want to share me; if you share me, I will disappear. What am I?"

It remains a profound riddle, one that even a normal person might not be able to solve.

But who is Allen? Before he traveled through time, he had read the Riddler's complete collection of riddles and memorized all the answers. The reason he didn't answer immediately was to create a sense of anticipation and give everyone a sense of urgency.

"I'm about to start the countdown."

Arthur's malicious smile, deliberately favoring the Riddler, meant that every time it was Allen's turn, the countdown would begin.

"secret."

Upon hearing the answer, Edward's pupils contracted, his surprised expression froze for a second, and he replied with difficulty, "The answer is correct."

"I'm going to make it harder now, please listen to the question."

"An African American woman who doesn't speak English married a native American. She went to the supermarket to buy chicken and successfully bought what she wanted by using gestures to ask the salesperson. The next day, she wanted to buy sausages and brought her husband along. How did she manage to buy the sausages?"

At this moment, everyone wore knowing smiles.

The same expression appeared on Edward's face as he confidently replied, "She was pointing at her husband's genitals..."

Bang!

A sudden explosion interrupted the heated duel.

A group of clowns armed with guns rushed out of the corridor and took control of the security personnel at Arkham Asylum.

The Clown Gang, a group with extremely low moral standards who even make do with instant noodles and rice while shopping at the supermarket, has finally arrived to welcome their Ugly King Arthur.

At this moment, the silent king awaits his moment to emerge from his cage.

Among the many patients who escaped were some deranged criminals.

"It's time for me to go home."

Ellen couldn't find a power outlet in the patient activity area and had to wait for an opportunity. Before acting, she didn't forget to say to the riddle-maker who was waiting for the result, "You've lost. Her husband speaks English."

Suddenly, a wave of frustration and dejection washed over Edward, leaving him momentarily overwhelmed.

After regaining his senses, Edward continued his search, only to find a mask and curtains near an electrical outlet.

"I don't believe you, you're lying to me..."

The riddle-maker's unwilling roar echoed through the corridor.
